Job Description
A24 and Peacock are holding an open casting call for Superfakes, a new crime drama set in New York’s Chinatown. The series stars and is executive produced by Lucy Liu, marking her highly anticipated return to television. Created by Emmy Award-winner Alice Ju (Beef, Poker Face), the show explores the story of a small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who is drawn into a dangerous black-market underworld to build a life of respectability for her family.
The production aims to authentically portray the diverse culture and energy of Chinatown, featuring a primarily Chinese and Chinese American cast. Filming will begin in early winter in New York City.
Lucy Liu, known for her iconic roles in Kill Bill, Charlie’s Angels, Chicago, and Elementary, brings her talent both in front of and behind the camera as executive producer. Superfakes is produced by A24 and UCP, with executive producers including Alice Ju, Josh Safdie, Benny Safdie, Howard Klein, Olivia Gerke, Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Liu herself.
