Casting Call: Short Film "Marina" - Seeking D/deaf or Hard of Hearing Latino Boy (8-12 years old)

Job Description:

We are casting for the short film Marina, seeking a talented young Latino boy, aged 8-12 years old, who is D/deaf or hard of hearing. This is a paid opportunity under the SAG/AFTRA Short Film Agreement. The role involves performing in American Sign Language (ASL), so strong familiarity with ASL is a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Portray a central character in the short film Marina.

  • Perform most of the character's lines in American Sign Language (ASL).

  • Collaborate with the director and other cast members to bring the character to life.

  • Attend rehearsals and filming sessions as required.

  • Follow directions from the production team to achieve the best performance.

Requirements:

  • Latino boy aged 8-12 years old.

  • Must be D/deaf or hard of hearing.

  • Strong familiarity with ASL is a plus but not required.

  • Ability to convey emotions and actions effectively through sign language and expressions.

  • Previous acting experience is preferred but not required.

  • Comfortable working on a film set and taking direction.
