Job Description: KUNSTRAUM is an innovative artist-run gallery dedicated to redefining the collaboration between artists and curators. We are excited to announce the search for our 2023-24 Curator-in-Residence. The ideal candidate will be a freelance curator with a passion for conceptualizing and realizing artistic visions. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the gallery’s offerings, contributing significantly to the dynamic New York art scene.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement exhibition concepts that align with KUNSTRAUM’s vision.
- Collaborate closely with artists to ensure their visions are accurately and creatively represented.
- Organize and oversee engaging art exhibitions and events.
- Actively participate in gallery programming, offering fresh, unique curatorial perspectives.
- Liaise with art professionals, collectors, and the public to enhance the gallery’s outreach and impact.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a curator, with a portfolio of past exhibitions or related projects.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art practices and trends.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A visionary approach to curating, with a focus on creative freedom and innovation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, artist-run environment.
- A keen interest in contributing to and learning from the New York art community.
