Casting Call: Actors for "Shatter" Short Film

Duration: 30-40 minutes
Job Responsibilities:
Performing assigned roles: Prepare and act in accordance with the script provided.
Collaborate with the director and crew: Work closely with Wes Tian and the DragonMaster Films team to bring the characters to life.
Rehearsal participation: Attend and actively participate in rehearsals as scheduled.
Maintain professionalism: Follow the shooting schedule, adhere to production guidelines, and respect fellow cast and crew members.
Requirements:
Age and Ethnicity: Specific roles have age and ethnicity requirements (detailed below).
Driver’s License: Required for certain roles (detailed below).
Experience: Prior acting experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Availability: Must be available for the entire shoot duration as specified per role.

Roles:
SLUG (Lead Role)
Description: Male, 17, any ethnicity, has a driver’s license. Quiet, shy, and often left out. SLUG is taken in by his aunt after his dad went missing and his mom fell into addiction. Often picked on and nicknamed "SLUG."
Scenes: In almost every scene; needed for the entire month of June.
MICAH
Description: Male, 17, any ethnicity. Empathetic but hides his true self to gain popularity. Known SLUG since middle school but grew apart as they aged.
Scenes: Needed for 15 scenes; 1½ to 2 weeks.
DONNY
Description: Male, 17, any ethnicity, has a driver’s license. Protective with tough skin. Dating LILLIAN, close with MICAH, part of ALEX’s friend group.
Scenes: Needed for 15 scenes; 1½ to 2 weeks.
ALEX
Description: Male, 17, any ethnicity. Popular, confident, impulsive, holds a grudge against SLUG, and seeks any excuse to act out.
Scenes: Needed for 15 scenes; 1½ to 2 weeks.
Compensation:
Pay: This is a non-union, unpaid role. However, actors will receive credit and exposure through film festival submissions, and it is a valuable opportunity for experience and networking in the film industry.
