Company Description

Leading global production and post-production company, seeks an experienced Senior Producer, Commercial Post. This individual will manage and drive work for the editor/creative director teams as they guide the creative execution with the company’s commercial advertising clients. Deeply involved with project management, departmental organization and oversight, and bidding support, an ideal candidate will be highly motivated and organized with extreme attention to detail. The Producer, Commercial Post will report directly to an Executive Producer and the management team.

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage proactively all upcoming, current, and concluding projects in the facility to ensure proper execution, billing, and a positive client experience
  • Work closely with agency producers to bid and manage projects
  • Work closely with creative directors, co-producers, editors, VFX artists, colorists, mixers, and other creative personnel to manage schedules, projects, and break down tasks
  • Manage and train more junior production staff, ensuring that best practices are documented and followed at all times
  • Coordinate assistant and editor schedules for active and upcoming projects
  • Schedule completion time and manage job workflow
  • Plan for future staffing, freelance, space, and equipment needs in advance, in consultation with EP, ECD, and management team
  • Manage day-to-day communication with the client, including proactive notification regarding potential overages
  • Actualize jobs consistently and accurately and ensure weekly invoicing is always up to date
  • Ensure that each project is executed and delivered with a maximized level of profit
  • Generate internal POs and secure POs from clients
  • Negotiate favorable rates for all approved freelancers and outside vendors
  • Work with associate producer to ensure billing is on schedule
  • Maintain list of clients with active, pending, and upcoming jobs
  • Track spots that have been broadcast and approved for use for company artist reels
  • Liaise with client services team to ensure expectations are met for all client-attended sessions
  • Communicate effectively with the clients, artists, and EPs on a regular basis to ensure management of project deadlines and budget expectations
  • Manage client satisfaction and promote ongoing relationships
  • Utilize company and professional network to staff freelance positions, where necessary
  • Other duties and responsibilities, as required

Qualifications

Required Qualifications And Background

  • 8+ years of experience as a commercial post producer in a boutique editorial shop
  • Advanced understanding of post-production workflows
  • Administrative software knowledge
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction while solving problems creatively
  • Proven ability to take ownership of assigned duties, executing proactively and successfully to see them through to completion

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Videographer/Editor position requires skills in a high-volume production environment specializing in the final storytelling of a project. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the filming and editing process for company video projects.  This position requires a diverse knowledge of industry standard types of cameras and production equipment along with basic Avid editing skills.  They will work closely with the Producers, Videographers and Editors on staff to ensure projects are completed on time and with the highest technical and aesthetic standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support production staff with variety of projects using production gear including various models of cameras, lenses, tripods, and other gear related to shooting.
  • Work with Production team to build sets for production needs.
  • Assist with general duties.
  • Maintaining production equipment before and after projects.
  • Coordinate the tracking of all production assets.
  • Assist with research and ordering of equipment.
  • Support with reporting and tracking maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
  • Ingest media into company’s archiving system and prepare media for Editors.
  • Log footage and edit basic to intermediate level projects.
  • Operate additional cameras as needed for production needs including live events.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Minimum college or trade school experience in production or similar field..
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience working in multiple aspects of film and video production.
  • Color grading at intermediate level.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Thorough understanding of fishing, hunting, and other outdoor skills as required to best work with production team in outdoor recreation company.
  • Strong work ethic. Outgoing personality with ability to interact within group of creative individuals in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Willingness to react with short notice to changes in daily routine.
  • Willing to travel as required – often locations require extensive driving and multiple night stays with early and late hours.
  • Strong communication skills – able to understand direction and make themselves understood when communicating objectives for accomplishing story lines or goals of a production.
  • Thorough knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems, specifically the Avid Media Composer or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of various codecs, containers and file types used in today’s media environment.
  • Able to work within a team environment including in the field or studio and in the post process, editing and finishing.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy equipment in variety of terrain and conditions from very hot to very cold.
  • Good driving record, able to secure Missouri Operator’s License Class E.
  • Good organizational skills: able to keep multiple projects balanced at any one time
  • Strong video resume required.  This resume should demonstrate samples from all of the areas mentioned above.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 25-30%

  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.
  • Occasionally walks and stands.
  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.

Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices.
