We’re looking for an Art Director to join a team of passionate (and fun!) creatives to develop and execute cutting-edge conceptual designs and innovative visual solutions across all mediums from screen to print. This role requires experience working on and creating concepts for experiential events/activations or excitement to learn. Must have an understanding of video/motion and web. In this role, you’ll partner with creative strategists while expertly leading teams of designers and production artists to flawlessly execute cross-channel and digital work.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Communicating visual designs, motion design, concepts, and storyboards through presentations – and getting clients to approve (and love) the recommended designs
  • Hands-on art direction/design and managing designers to create
  • Strong passion for the latest design trends and industry innovations in tech and entertainment
  • Ability to balance multiple projects with tight deadlines and shifting priorities while inspiring and mentoring your design team
  • Directly collaborating with creative strategists and the production/live events team to drive creativity and produce excellent work
  • Lead and participate in brainstorming and collaborative sessions
  • Provide support for onsite teams during live/virtual events
  • Art Directing internal client proposals, clearly articulating creative solutions
  • Support the creative department across a broad range of client initiatives

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a LEAD DESIGNER/ART DIRECTOR/CREATIVE LEAD
  • Thrives in, and contributes to a positive, collaborative and fun work environment– people person with strong communication skills!
  • College degree or relevant experience in Art Direction/Design/Advertising/or Marketing
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and detail-oriented
  • Experience bringing ideas to life with high-quality comps and prototypes
  • Excellent hands-on design with Photoshop, Keynote/PPT, Indesign, Illustrator
  • *BONUS POINTS* if you know FIGMA
  • Knowledge of Keynote and Powerpoint is strongly preferred. If you don’t know it, prepare to.
  • Willingness to champion for the best ideas, strongest creative and excellent client delivery
  • Portfolio of work showing strong visual narratives
  • Ability to interpret feedback and pivot when necessary
  • Ability to clearly convey ideas through proposals, decks, and client-facing presentations

Communication skills. Art directors must be able to listen to and speak with staff and clients to ensure that they understand employees’ ideas and clients’ desires for advertisements, publications, or movie sets.

Creativity. Art directors must be able to come up with interesting and innovative ideas to develop advertising campaigns, set designs, or layout options.

Leadership skills. Art directors must be able to organize, direct, and motivate other artists. They need to articulate their visions to artists and oversee production.

Time-management skills. Balancing competing priorities and multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines is critical for art directors.
