The Role

Jellysmack is seeking a highly motivated and organized Creative Producer to join our growing team in Los Angeles focusing on content featuring, but not limited to, storytelling (Killer Bites, Unfiltered Stories & Supermission), true crime, animals and nature. This person must have extensive experience producing for social video platforms such as Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

The Creative Producer will craft the vision for content using data that reflects a deep understanding of the audience to produce engaging and overperforming content that directly reaches the unique audience of each platform. Working with Leads at HQ in Paris, the Creative Producer will ensure that the content achieves the objectives for each performance metric and ultimately reaches the revenue goals set for the business. This role will work across existing originals as well as develop new series. They will act as Director and Producer on set, working closely with on-camera talent, as well as follow the episode through post production. This person will work in the creative development, talent sourcing and performance analysis of our social video content. This role works with Creative Leads, Partnerships, Content Strategy, and Partner Success to drive creative decisions using data-based success metrics to analyze social media video content, while ensuring content meets quality standards.

The Responsibilities

The Creative Producer will be creative, with production sensibilities, and responsible for creative and post production, and successfully deploying and monetizing the videos for each platform. They will work with post production to make sure the content meets creative standards, and work with Production Management to ensure content is delivered on time and produced within budget. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, creative, organized and motivated person who has experience and interest in storytelling, true crime, animals and nature. Working with Leads in Paris, they will create the vision for the content that reflects a deep understanding of the type of programming that over performs with each unique platform. They will collaborate to develop the strategy in the storytelling vertical for pages including Killer Bites, Unfiltered Stories, Supermission and Naturee, as well as others.

  • Creatively develop, produce and direct (remote and in-person) episodes for content featuring, but not limited to, stories for Killer Bites, Unfiltered Stories, Supermission and Naturee
  • Write scripts, workshop with talent and teams, give notes to editors
  • Keep informed on true crime stories and current events to create topical content
  • Track content through post production ensuring deadlines are met, and content is posted on time
  • Collaborate with video editors to review cuts and episode edits for Facebook, Snapchat, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram and any other emerging platforms
  • Assist the analytics team with data gathering and evaluation of video performance
  • Take data analytics and apply them to creative to produce over performing content that drives revenue and keeps costs low
  • Act as the internal communicator amongst various departments disseminating information regarding creative, deadlines and status updates; update internal trackers and project management documents as needed
  • Create timelines for internal milestones, including scheduling internal and external creative kickoff meetings
  • Oversee the shoot and production crew and/or work with third-party Production Companies to ensure that everyone is clear on creative expectations for any given shoot
  • Cultivate strong relationships with talent and representatives ensuring high-level collaboration, authentic creative, and smooth productions
  • Liaise with Production to marry content strategies with physical production ensuring that content comes in at or under budget and legal guidelines are adhered to; track on set production spending and communicate actuals to Production Management
  • Represent Jellysmack on set, ensuring a safe, efficient and collaborative working environment
  • Continually explore and work to implement alternative remote production resources and simplify workflows to create financial and production efficiencies

Requirements

The Qualifications

This person must be serious about video performance and able to make data informed decisions and recommendations on areas of improvement at every phase of the publishing process.

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience producing digital video production with high profile brands or creators; solid understanding of native digital talent
  • Possesses a deep understanding of Facebook, Snapchat and other emerging social platforms with knowledge of the talent, entertainment, sports and influencer landscape; understanding creator digital monetization solutions a plus
  • Passion for all things related to storytelling, true crime, animals and nature content and and has experience in development/creative
  • Experience in directing and working closely with on-camera talent
  • Experience working on a Snapchat Discover show is a plus
  • Understanding of how video performance ties to delivering financial results that increase revenue; ability to read and interpret profit and loss statements a plus
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with persons on all levels, in person and via telephone or zoom
  • Comfortable taking creative direction and guidance, and implementing changes
  • Self-motivated, proficient multi-tasker, able to stay organized with multiple simultaneous projects
  • Enthusiastic team player able communicate succinctly, emanate calm and remain focused in a growing, changing environment
  • Overseeing multiple projects, adept at anticipating potential issues, identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions

About the Role:

The Assistant Editor will be joining a team of creatives reporting to the Post-Production Lead. Qualifications

 

  • 3 or more years of experience as a creative producer, post producer or line producer in a live-action production environment or full-service post-production company, with an understanding of various post workflows (editorial, animation, CG, finishing). 
  • You must have bidding experience. 
  • Must have super-hero strength organizational and spreadsheet skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who owns the work and is accountable to clients and team members alike.
  • Able to keep a flexible & adaptive mindset –  maintain a level head in challenging situations and mediate solutions and solve problems. 
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills. Understands the distinction between when a conversation is best had over the phone or by email, and how to do so efficiently. Asks all the right questions to avoid potential bottlenecks, and has a light touch in difficult conversations.

Post Production Coordinator – Top Production Studio – $26/hr

Major television studio and motion picture production company in Los Angeles is seeking a Post Production Coordinator to join the team on a long-term contract. In this role, you will work directly with the Head of Post-Production to proactively anticipate departmental needs to ensure a steady Post workflow. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter, with great attention to detail, and a passion for Post-Production!

Responsibilities:

  • Organize show specific post calendars and trackers across the studio and productions
  • Help facilitate Scenechronize, PIX, and Moxion requests
  • Support Studio and show teams in managing cuts distribution lists
  • Collect vendor bids, both show specific and general to help build post template budgets
  • Drafting and revising all internal and external post guides, archival guides, delivery checklists, and any other post-related documents on a regular basis
  • Oversight of day-to-operations of the external post teams related to dailies, cuts, post finishing, and final delivery
  • Ensure all show teams are following proper content security protocols for both the Studio and the Network
  • Editorial/ preview screenings memos and tech checks
  • Ownership of the storage and final archival process (digital & physical)
  • Complete special studio or departmental projects as needed or requested.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in Post Production as a freelance Post Production Supervisor or 2 years of experience working at a studio/ network as a Post Coordinator
