The Role

Based in Ottawa and reporting to the Executive Producer, CPAC is seeking a bilingual (French/English) journalist to join our editorial team, who’s main assignment is with CPAC’s daily political program L’Essentiel, to oversee the production of programs, stories and segments. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is keenly interested in storytelling and embraces the challenges of producing content that engages the unique needs of different audiences across all platforms. The chosen individual will possess strong journalism skills combined with an ardent appreciation and knowledge of all things political.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Produce the daily French current affairs program, L’Essentiel;
  • Develop program, story, and segment ideas;
  • Write segments of the show;
  • Provide leadership and advice to production personnel on technical, journalistic and aesthetic development of program, story and segments;
  • Conduct research and identify story/program focus, guests, visual elements, treatment, budget, and schedule;
  •  Book and brief guests;
  •  Make required arrangements for crews, feeds or other technical elements in collaboration with the Operations Coordinator;
  • Coordinate the production of program segments and story concepts with regional freelancers/resources;
  • Input required compliance data and program information into Broadview and Dalet;
  • Participate in staff, program and other corporate meetings as required;
  • Maintain necessary program files and records;
  •  Ensure that all production expenses authorized are within budget;
  • Undertake other related tasks as assigned by the Executive Producer;
  •  Develops and maintains positive work relationships with supervisor, coworkers, managers, consultants, talent, the public;

Qualifications (knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Journalism or Media Arts, or the equivalent combination of education and media experience;
  •  Three to 5 years professional experience in broadcasting or a combination education and experience;
  • Excellent French language skills in order to write and produce content for broadcast and for digital purposes;
  • Understands and maintains current knowledge of the Canadian political system, and of current and emerging issues and trends;
  • Excellent analytical and synthesizing skills; inquisitive, creative and a self-starter;
  • Excellent writing skills, including familiarity with Canadian Press style;
  • Advanced knowledge of video editing and video asset management platforms, computer system operation and maintenance, hardware and software;
  •  Knowledge of video-editing principles and techniques;
  •   A strong track record using digital platforms for journalistic content;
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premier, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.;
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Has excellent organizational and time management skills;
  • Has strong project management skills and experience;
  • Able to work flexible, irregular hours;
  • Develops and maintains positive work relationships with supervisor, co-workers, managers, consultants, talent, the public and contacts;

L/A/V Production Manager Description:

The Lighting/Audio/Video Manager is responsible for managing the production of all technical elements for various high-end special events. The position requires someone who is detail orientated and has knowledge of event lighting, audio and video production. The ideal candidate should be able to manage multiple projects, prioritize workflow and support a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills are a must in order to communicate extensively with clients and production staff efficiently. 

 

The Responsibilities:

 

Assisting the staff in daily operations of events

·         Assist the staff in the upkeep and maintenance of the specific

event spaces as assigned where it relates to AV or Lighting.

·         Build and manage relationships with the venue staff as applicable.

 

– Work w/ sales team to design & prepare all aspects of an event, including creation of gear, crewing lists and plots

– Manage freelance technical crews and provide instructions on what is expected of them for each job

Job Description

Under management of the Director of Engineering, this position will provide mission critical technical support for the Eurofins DMS’ New York facility. This includes serving as the liaison to the Burbank engineering team in order to support post production systems and processes.

  • Provide configuration support to QC operators on key systems such as Transkoder, Iris, Premiere
  • Ensure continuous operation of the production facility by providing front-line support for all technical issues
  • Support the Burbank engineering team in remote debugging of technical issues
  • Work with internal and external partners to resolve workflow and procedural issues
  • Work on ad hoc projects and other tasks within the realm of production engineering and QC
  • Ability to work with TIFF sequences, drop in patches and create ProRes XQ files

  • Experience with Aspera accelerated file transfer in an enterprise environment.

Job Description

Supervise associates by teaching, training, mentoring, and coaching so as to promote and ensure continuous improvement of safety, quality, spoilage reduction, and increased throughput which meet and exceed departmental goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Ensure all safety and quality standards are being continuously met and maintained throughout the shift.
  • Work closely with the production manager and shift lead to assist and support with all aspects of the manufacturing process (safely manufacturing a quality product while meeting/ exceeding efficiency expectations for spoilage and throughput).
  • Communicate to the production manager, and production planner any material shortages or outages, along with any other issues which may impede the safe manufacture of quality products in an efficient manner so as to meet/exceed customer satisfaction which includes on time delivery of products.
  • Supervise, teach, train, and mentor associates; cross train as opportunities present themselves.
  • Ensure the equipment is clean and well maintained.
  • Ensure associates take personal responsibility for routinely clocking in/out and accurately and thoroughly completing all Data Collection entries and production paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.

Qualifications

Education and or Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ previous supervisory experience.

As a Studio Producer, you will manage assigned project workflows from start to finish. You are the Quarterback – delegating and managing expectations with clear communication, time management, and task management for the creative and strategy teams. You also coordinate with production and post support that’s flown in at key times. By supporting project leadership with day-to-day client comms with the intent of developing a deep understanding of the brand, you’ll be helping connect the dots cross-functionally, ensuring a smooth production process and strategic success. Responsibilities:
