“Crafted for Christmas” Casting Call

‘Crafted for Christmas’, this story follows an idealistic TV producer who is assigned a puff piece about a Christmas toy manufacturer over the holidays and the charming toymaker who inspires her to search her heart to find true happiness.

We are still going through the RESIGNATION PILOT submissions to cast that show.

This MOVIE is supposed to look like action taking place in Brunswick, Iowa farming town.

For Day 1 (which is this WEDNESDAY, 11-30), we will be filming way up north in LONG GROVE, Illinois. Please make sure you have reliable transportation or live close by. Since we only need a few ‘townspeople’, we would prefer submitting those that have worked with us in the past for these roles to know their professionalism and dependability.

Rate of Pay: $123.20 for up to 8 hours, plus time and one half overtime if applicable. Free parking.

Covid testing will be on site prior to check in so no extra days needed to be available. Just the one. This production is not requiring covid vaccinations either.

Must be at least 18 years old. Casting 18 and older. If a child is needed, will have a post later. All ethnicities and genders.

Rate: $150 – 700 for 1 to 2-3 hours, depending on the spot (on-going opportunities available if the ads perform well). Spots include using a new club & giving testimonials or delivering dialogue for a few ads.

Usage/Provisions: Ads to be aired on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and other online platforms. In perpetuity.

We are looking for the following:

40’s+, Male, All Ethnicities, 20 Handicap or better. Looking for talent who are golfers and are comfortable on-camera.

Clean-cut, in good shape.

SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS: (Please submit to us before 12pm, Fri – Dec 2)

All casting submissions should be self-taped at home. This can even be done on a smart phone (held horizontally). Have someone hold the camera to record off-camera, or use a tri-pod, prop the camera up somewhere. Just make sure you can be clearly seen and heard.

Keep it simple, quick, and easy.

For the Audition, we’d like a video of the talent doing the following:

Part 1: (Introduction / Slate)

Film a video in a medium shot (head & shoulders) state your first and last name, height, talent agency (if applicable),

and your golf handicap to camera.

Then, briefly tell us:

– How long you’ve been playing golf…

– What is your #1 struggle in golf (i.e. lack of distance, slice, hook, inconsistency?)…

Part 2: (Swing Shot)

Next, film another short video showing us a down the line version of your swing (see attached photo for reference) or a side view of your swing.

You can use a tri-pod or prop the camera up somewhere. Just make sure you can be clearly seen and heard.

so we can have everything in in time to send to our client.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • BA degree in Design or related field or equivalent in field experience demonstrated through work history and an outstanding portfolio
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Design or related field

Skills:

  • Extensive proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Extensive proficiency in PowerPoint and Apple Keynote
  • Proficiency in web design (Figma) or 3D software is a plus (3ds Max, SketchUp, etc.)
  • Proficiency in motion design is a plus
  • Demonstrates a mastery of production skills, typography, color, composition, layout, and visual storytelling in graphic applications including: print, environmental (wayfinding, branding, thematic, experiential), and digital applications (screen graphics, online communications, media)
  • Possesses the ability to interpret, work within, and augment existing brand standards
  • Has an aptitude for research to uncover insights, inspirations, assets, and resources

  • Performs quality control (QC) checks on packaging mechanicals for accuracy to ensure it complies with brand standards and technical specifications
  • Troubleshoots and resolves any discrepancies with marketing files

Responsibilities

• Work as part of team to manage all aspects of production from concept through to

delivery. Partner with internal team members to gather and review specifications,

amend mechanicals and choose appropriate vendors. Work closely with the outside

suppliers with quotes, proofing turnaround, job tracking and invoicing

• Enter all relevant data into an internal project management system including invoices,

vendor specifications, quotes, proofs, die drawings and templates. Maintain accruals

and update critical data points in the project management system.

• Execute projects within specified timelines and budget requirements to meet all quality

standards and expectations. Identify and escalate production issues immediately to

management.

• Support designers with their requests for assistance, such as clipping paths, locating old

files, etc.

• Execute projects within specified timelines. Most projects are in and out the same day.

• Establish and maintain good working relationships with suppliers to ensure efficient

workflow. Act as liaison between internal team and outside vendors; tracking and

reporting any schedule or budget changes to deliverables. Traffic all work

(specifications, quotes, mechanicals, proofs, mockups, acknowledgments, invoices, etc.)

between outside vendors and internal teams.

• Collaborate with the Account and Creative Teams to explore potential suppliers for

projects or campaigns. Make recommendations based on knowledge of manufacturing

limitations, vendor capabilities, turnaround and cost.

• Handle a multitude of complex and diverse product-type categories including but not

limited to bottle molds, label printing, OOH, digital ads, print ads, branded merchandise,

and POP/POS.

• Educate and train new designers to build better production ready files.

• Prepared to attend press checks with or without client and ensure necessary subject

matter experts are present to effectively manage process.

• Reviewing and routing setups (signoffs) and proofs for all projects through the necessary

account and creative team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.

• 3+ years’ experience with full knowledge of printing processes and setting up files in

Adobe programs on a Mac.

• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Knowledge of; CMYK -vs- PMS inks, printing inks on paper and other substrates, dielines,

ad specs, the Microsoft Office Suite, familiarity with Asana job tracking or similar

software a plus.

• Ability to work independently with a drive to continually hit targets of getting work out

of the door quickly and looking good, in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to also work with different teams, and to help account managers to “speak

printing”.

• Ability to rebuild a designer’s files to print properly.

• Ability to communicate and problem-solve to complete daily tasks.
