ParentMap is the Pacific Northwest’s leading media company for parents and caregivers, providing highly relevant, well-researched and entertaining content to families through various integrated publishing channels, including our award-winning news magazine, website, annual lecture series and community events.

The Director, Marketing is a results driven leadership position that directly impacts Parentmap’s strategic growth based on business goals. The Director, Marketing shows passion for parenting content with a genuine interest in parenting topics, and an understanding of this audience. The Director, Marketing plans digital marketing campaigns across multiple channels; creates and publishes written and visual content to support marketing initiatives; optimizes marketing channels to improve performance; and analyzes and communicates results to company leaders. The Director, Marketing is instrumental in setting the strategy and execution for Parentmap.com website development, eNews program, new digital products and analyzing metrics to drive traffic/audience acquisition initiatives and attain revenue growth objectives.  

Key responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: develops long term audience engagement strategies for social media, email, events, ParentMap Brand, digital products and content marketing and influencer collaborations that drive business goals and align with company values and goals.
  • Leadership: Sits on ParentMap’s leadership team to determine business goals, growth strategy, priorities and budgets.  Inspires and collaborates with team members to guide them to achieve audience engagement and marketing objectives.  Leads marketing team to execute against business goals with consistent management, goal setting, and reporting up and across teams. Identifies and recommends internal and external required resources to deliver Business Goals.
  • Analytic Mindset: Uses data analytic tools to measure, report effectiveness and drive strategy of all marketinging campaigns and products to established goals, including audience engagement, growth opportunities, segmentation and revenue optimization, innovation, and application of emerging digital marketing trends.
  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with content Managing Editor to develop compelling and relevant content strategies tailored to different audiences, platforms (i.e articles, videos, webinars etc).
  • Marketing: In collaboration with Sales and Content, design and manage paid marketing campaigns for all products, including search, social media, email and display advertising to promote increased audience engagement, client spend, brand awareness and support business goals/ growth. 
  • Tech-savviness: Lead ParentMap team in elevating and learning digital tools that can help analyze successes, engagement challenges, improve ParentMap’s website, automate workflow, and enhance platforms, and processes. Manage digital vendor relationships as well as digital product and website development projects.
  • Innovation: Generate creative ideas to enhance product offerings, engage audience, promote client sales and build ParentMap’s brand.
  • Digital Product Delivery: responsible for strategy, design and execution of digital products including email marketing program/platform logistics, all sponsorship programs, ad campaigns, ParentMap’s website  and new digital products, in conjunction with evaluating and implementing audience growth initiatives, subscriber database hygiene and segmentation, and platform/product iteration and development. 
  • Brand Management: Ensure optimal brand and product positioning and increased perceived value of ParentMap’s brand with audience, clients, and partners.

Qualifications and success measures:

  • BS/MS degree in marketing or a related field
  • Proven experience leading/managing digital marketing strategies and programs
  • Demonstrated experience managing a successful team
  • Proven project management skills including planning complex projects including web development projects, assessing risks and opportunities, creating budgets, communicating with stakeholders, troubleshooting problems
  • Self-starter, creative and highly motivated to implement marketing plans from conception through execution and analysis
  • Solid understanding of all social media platforms and tools, Business/Ads Manager, email marketing platforms, GA4, Matomo and/ or similar product, Google Ad Manager, Google Tag Manager and standard project management tools
  • Experience utilizing content management systems (Drupal/HTML experience is a major plus) 
  • Highly creative, with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate them
  • Solid copywriting and proofreading skills, with attention to grammar, voice and tone
  • Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data to help inform decision-making processes 
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time-management skills with the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced business environment
  • Conversant with the latest trends and best practices in digital, email and social media marketing
  • Basic Adobe Photoshop skills a plus

Reports to:  Owner & Publisher

FLSA status: Exempt

Job status: Full time – 40  hours per week

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $110,000 per year based on qualifications, skills and experience. ParentMap offers benefit plans including health, vision and dental.  Employees will receive a vacation grant of two weeks after six months prorated according to hire date. Additional vacation time is granted according to years of employment. Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays over the course of the calendar year as well as Washington state–mandated time off for sick leave and personal obligations.

Job location:  Work-from-home position with monthly required meetings on Mercer Island.

The Employer Brand Manager will be responsible for developing and executing engaging marketing programs aligned with recruiting goals and a compelling talent narrative. You will also design new and/or support current internal employee communication programs.

The Employer Brand Manager will get to:

  • Own key employer initiatives – from brainstorming and conception to planning, executing, and measuring – to drive brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty among our current and prospective employees.
  • In collaboration with the Talent team, develop employer brand messaging that articulates our why and value proposition.
  • Create and disseminate the talent brand story and leverage our origin story, developing content for various marketing channels (e.g., careers website, email, blog, etc.)
  • Write engaging content to showcase the current employee experience, source stories, and develop thought leadership content.
  • Work cross-functionally to deliver well-organized, timely, and successful internal/ external marketing campaigns.
  • Create, uncover, and articulate personal and inspirational employee stories to support the employer brand.
  • Leverage research and insights to identify or craft opportunities to support recruiting goals.
  • Create tools, content, or presentations to build brand ambassadors.

Your experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications Psychology, Behavioral Science, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, brand, or advertising research and/or brand strategy
  • Ready to share & implement best practices from a proven track record in a fast-growth brand marketing field.
  • Experience in creating/ implementing enterprise-wide culture engagement initiatives/ programs.
  • Integrated marketing experience – advertising, marketing, public relations, a plus
  • Recruiting knowledge and employer brand experience is a must.
  • Social media and content marketing experience
  • Well-versed in using LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed
  • Experience in managing website content and working with Google Analytics or similar tools.

Compensation:

At Sono Bello, we believe that our team members are the keys to our success. The compensation range for this role is $77,000 – $87,000, depending on experience.

The communications team at Washington Filmworks and its partner organization Whipsmart is growing. Are you passionate about Washington’s creative community and motion picture industry? 

We are seeking a full-time Communications Coordinator who will work alongside the Senior Communications Manager to effectively share the story of Washington’s creative economy.  Both Washington Filmworks and Whipsmart are nonprofits that help those making a living being creative, either by financially supporting projects, providing business resources or advocating for policies and programs that support artists, craftspeople and entrepreneurs. This role will oversee the day-to-day coordination of communications initiatives and will be responsible for helping to imagine, build, and maintain a variety of resources to showcase the organizations and spotlight the statewide creative community.  

As an ideal candidate, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will be creative, knowledgeable about our mission, and enjoy writing in a variety of formats. You will be a self-starter who can work independently with an emphasis on personal accountability and also enjoy collaboration. You should be comfortable both in front of a computer and in the community. You must be a strong problem solver with the ability to pivot and shift seamlessly in a small, fast-paced environment.  Given the unique nature of our work, no day at the organization is the same.  One day, we are celebrating the start of a film production and on another we are in Olympia talking to elected officials about the economic impact of the creative economy.   It’s sometimes a wild ride but it’s definitely a fun ride!
