Casting opportunity:

A project called tiny time travel for PBS Kids is seeking Filipina & Hmong (an indigenous group in East and Southeast Asia) talent for several roles.

Must be available to work as an NYC local hire. Performers of all experience levels are encouraged to submit.

Please note the production team is working with a Hmong cultural advisor, and the names of the Hmong roles are being changed to reflect authenticity for production scripts/what is shot and aired.

Project: tiny time travel (PBS kids series) – guest star & supporting leads

Location: NYC (talent must be able to work as a local hire)

Sag/aftra new media agreement ($125 + 10% agency fee, if applicable, per day)

Shoots (1-2 days, depending) between July 17 – August 4

Talent may be requested for a table read on June 26 or 27th 

Character descriptions:

Shana-16-18 years old. She is Filipina. She is the cool older sister of one of the stars of our show, Tyler. She wants to skateboard with a friend and asks for Tyler’s help trying to convince their dad to let her go. (1 episode)

  • 18+ to play younger 

Alang soung- 10-12 years old. This character is Hmong (an indigenous group in East and Southeast Asia) and likes to dance (1 episode) 

  • Talent that identifies as Hmong and/or from Southwest China & Southeast Asia are strongly encouraged to submit 
  • please note-this role was initially released as male, but we are open to talent of all genders. 

Mrs. Soung is Hmong (an indigenous group in East and Southeast Asia) and Alang’s mom. Kind and considerate. She explains some specifics about Hmong culture to Alang’s friends, who don’t understand but are eager to listen. (1 episode)

CASTING: TALENT IN THE NY/TRI-STATE AREA FOR A PHOTO SHOOT

Seeking:

  • Men and women 30-45yrs old to participate in a 360 degree photo shoot to capture specific poses for the purpose of action figure production and print marketing.
  • Photos will be used to create 3D “action figures”.

GOMER JONES: He/Him, 20s-30s. Tenor. Welsh. Gomer is a naive, charming, and empathetic young man with a stubborn streak bordering on cockiness. He was bom hearing, but recently experienced hearing loss.

Gomer is able to fake his way past the army recruiters and into WW1 by hiding his recent hearing loss with clear speech and lipreading ability. This is a highly physical character with excellent vocal singing skills.

Goodspeed Opera House Dates: September 19, 5th, 2023

Signature Theatre Dates: January 9th, 2024-March 10th, 2024

Out the kitchen are seeking:

  • Male minors ages 10-14 yrs to portray soccer teams.

  • Bachelors in Advertising, Marketing or related field, required; in lieu of degree, equivalent experience in a relevant field required

Additional Information

The anticipated base salary range for this position is$51,000 – $80,000. Salary is based on a range of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.Additionally, this position is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation.
