“The Corridor Crossing” Plot Summary:
On a lost bet, Alex walks through a cave and stumbles into an alternate universe. Jake follows him in an attempt to save Alex and get back to the world they belong in.
Goals for the Project:
I am trying to create a slow burning, tense, thought provoking, sci-fi horror story with very complex characters that convey a wide range of emotions. In addition to giving extensive verbal notes during rehearsals, I provide in-depth written character notes regarding their past along with a Scene-by-Scene analysis for each character. I possess a very close attention to detail and specific vision regarding my characters. I am a very calm person who will never yell at actors/actresses or crew and will treat everyone with the most respect.
Breakdown:
Because there are multiple universes, there are multiple versions of certain characters.
Jake Tammy (Male)-Teen, 20’s-30’s (Lead):
Kind and shy, Jake often agrees with others and hides his true beliefs in order to avoid conflict and keep the peace. As the film progresses, he becomes way more uptight and paranoid. Jake has weak body posture, looks down often, and rarely makes eye contact.
Alex Parson (Male)-Teen, 20’s-30’s (Lead):
Alex #1
Intelligent and energetic but defensive and neurotic, Alex means well and is passionate, but is also insecure and has fiery outbursts, particularly when he feels he is being bullied. Alex speaks fast with a loud intensity and sometimes repeats himself when flustered.
Alex #2:
Containing a much lower energy and talking much less, Alex #2 is oblivious to others’ feelings, is needy and creepy. He holds long, awkward eye contact with others.
Mike (Male)-Teen, 20’s-30’s (Lead):
Mike #1:
Fun and laid back but also arrogant, sarcastic, and obnoxious, Mike is a fun guy to be around, but often at the expense of making fun of his peers; mainly Alex. Mike smiles a lot, has strong body posture and seems very relaxed.
Mike #2:
Much more serious and angrier, Mike rarely talks and doesn’t want to be around others. He comes off as disinterested, cold, and detached from the world.
Brett Tammy (Jake’s Dad) (Male)-Late 30’s-60’s (Lead):
Jake’s Dad #1:
Fun, calm and upbeat, Jake’s Dad is the kind of father anyone would want. He works hard and enjoys spending time with his son, Jake. Jake’s Dad smiles often and is enjoyable to be around.
Jake’s Dad #2:
Friendly on the surface, but also creepy, sarcastic and conniving, Jake’s Dad enjoys making his son, Jake, sweat by making him very uncomfortable. He smiles often, but there is darkness under the surface and a hint of sadism infused in his personality.
Allison Tammy (Jake’s Mom) (Female)-Late 30’s-60’s (Lead):
Jake’s Mom #1:
Kind, warm and caring, but a little overbearing, Jake’s Mom cares a lot and worries about her son, Jake. She often asks Jake questions and uses humor to hide the fact that she is overly concerned about what he’s doing.
Jake’s Mom #2:
Much colder and quieter, Jake’s Mom is neurotic and quite scary when pushed to the edge. She often glares at Jake with hatred because she loathes the sight of him, and screams at a horrifying level when she loses her temper.
Vella (Female)-Teen, 20’s-50’s (Lead):
Warm, well spoken, intelligent and caring, but also a bit of a know-it-all and somewhat out of touch with reality, Vella strongly believes in supernatural forces and the dark arts. She speaks calmly and slowly.
