Our interior design client located in downtown Chicago is looking for a Creative Director to join their in-house studio team in a Full Time capacity.

This role is hybrid – onsite Tues-Thurs.

This role is exciting for a Creative Director who is willing to step into a well established company/team and continue to elevate the work.

To be considered for this role, the Creative Director must have:

  • Ideally hospitality branding(restaurant or hotel ok too)
  • Identity/branding experience and work in their portfolio
  • Experience creating a concept and taking it through to delivery – concept, identity, print and digital collateral, etc.
  • Possess a deep understanding of storytelling, branding, typography, and both print and digital design
  • Strong communication/presentation skills to show work to executives

Creative Director Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing branding for boutique hotels, restaurants and other properties from design intent to print production.
  • Guiding the internal team(4 designers) and overseeing projects ensuring the quality of work.
  • Manage and contribute to the work product, leading brainstorms, generating big ideas, and executing creative work

Children’s Theatre of Winnetka (CTW) is looking to hire a non-union freelance Stage manager for our Fall Show “Spongebob Musical” at the Winnetka Community House directed by Aaron Umsted. There are 6 shows; dates are Thursday Nov 17th-Sunday Nov 20th.

Other hours include:

4 hours of rehearsal attendance week of Nov 1st.

16 hours rehearsals Nov 8th-11th.

Tech Nov 12th/13th daytime

Dress rehearsals Nov 15h/16th evenings

Will consider theatre students.

Pay is commensurate with experience.

Job Description

Associate Event Producers support the internal workings such as planning, staffing, tracking and overall behind the scenes of activating Diageo brand events. They are responsible for assisting the Regional Director in an administrative support role to execute the overall quality and execution of consumer experiences. Specific responsibilities include (but not limited to): staffing, managing payroll, Event report forms, event sourcing, budget creation / management, vendor communications, timeline management, asset logistics, on-site execution, administrative and operational tasks. Events range in size, scale, and timing, and Associate Event Producers must be able to organize and coordinate multiple sized events simultaneously. This role requires strong cultural, community, and local awareness, with the ability to connect brands with the right events while maximizing consumer satisfaction and brand relevance.

Qualifications

  • Play a support role to Event Regional Directors and assist in all aspects of administrative needs, event planning and activation within designated markets as assigned, ensuring all deliverables are met for both regional and localized assignments and any assigned task as assigned.
  • Help source event opportunities that align with brand objectives to assigned regions and markets as needed.
  • Activate assigned events according to brand guidelines and ensure execution is consistent with brand standards
  • Coordinate staffing and logistics for all non-premise brand experiences (event staffing, asset transportation, product delivery, etc.)
  • Lead on-site production and or provide experienced on-site PM to lead (asset facilitation, consumer sampling, hospitality, content capture) ibn select markets
  • Point-of-contact for clarification, trouble shooting, and issue escalation
  • Work with national and local vendors, including insurance carriers
  • Procure permits, civic documents, and all other permits / paperwork required for events
  • Administrative tasks; invoice requests, staff payroll, expenses, etc.
  • When requested:Travel within assigned market area is expected and often required to perform managerial, activation, and execution responsibilities
  • Assist in managing Regional Vehicle asset program.

Organizational Purpose

  • Assist with the negotiation of event sponsorships that maximize brand impact and value for assigned locations
  • Provide client and stakeholders with new ideas and activation opportunities
  • Help manage pre / during / post event communications, ensuring any issues or changes that might impact events are escalated or approved through proper channels and documented

Financial Responsibility

  • Support budget creation, implementation, expense tracking & management, and reporting as assigned by the Regional Director
  • Provide continual budgetary input on event cost expenditures per event

Management Responsibility

  • Reports directly to the MKTG Regional Director
  • Ensure activation is planned for / and executed in compliance with state event regulations, local sampling laws, company policies, and client marketing codes

Outputs

  • Continual evaluation of local market sponsorship opportunities and local event alignments against brand objectives
  • Meet regularly with Regional Director to ensure and enforce activation scopes are achieved
  • Ensure part-time event staff are understanding of activation goals and local compliance

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience producing experiential / event production projects within a marketing or communications environment
  • Particularly interested in experience tying business strategy and sponsorship to experiential events.
  • Experience in at least one additional specialized area such as: stage production, lighting technology and design, transportation, set fabrication, décor styling, etc.
  • Strong organizational and coordinating abilities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to support numerous projects simultaneously while managing priorities and timelines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and easily approachable
  • Ability to pro-actively anticipate obstacles and create solutions.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, thrive in a fast-paced dynamic work environment, (this is not a 9 to 5 job)
  • College graduate (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Daily Use/Knowledge of: Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint, Keynote. General understanding of Sketchup or ACAD is preferred.

Job Description

CREATIVE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM:

Interns will be fully embedded and entrenched in the creative process from brief through production. They will work with multiple teams across brands that encompass some of the most iconic, household names on creative opportunities across all platforms: video (TV, online video, online video), print, radio, digital (websites, banners), and social.

This paid, full-time internship begins on Monday, June 6th and ends Friday, August 19th, 2022.

THE ROLE

August Jackson looks to our Creative Directors to be the lead of all things creative. Transforming client objectives into creative themes and concepts is at the heart of this role. Therefore, the ability to build and nurture client relationships is key to success. Our Creative Directors are leaders and problem solvers, able to use creative thinking as a way to bring people together and move businesses toward their desired outcomes. They inspire others with their vision of what a communications campaign, in-person event, virtual event, or digital activation can achieve.

  • Theme and Concept Development – Transform client business objectives into themes and concepts that drive the content and experiences through a variety of channels.
  • Content Creative Direction – Identify and craft a wide variety of stories and communications that reflect our clients’ brands, deliver their key messages, and drive audiences and end users to key outcomes.
  • Experiential Creative Direction – Design and develop ideas that help build experiences for our clients’ audiences and end users, through both events and campaigns.
  • Mentorship and Guidance – We look to our Creative Directors to help mentor and guide Associate Creative Directors and Creative Associates through their professional development.
  • Copywriting Guidance – Guide our Associate Creative Directors and Creative Associates in writing effective copy for video, websites, presentations, and other forms of communication.

THE REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for leadership-minded individuals with at least 4-7 years of experience at a creative agency or at an in-house creative department. Experience working in the digital and virtual spaces is a plus. Candidates must show a portfolio of winning ideas and demonstrate an understanding of how strategic thinking can help guide creative. Interpersonal and presentation skills are a must, as this is a heavily client-facing role. We are also seeking individuals who enjoy mentoring and guiding others who are earlier in their creative career paths. Finally, our Creative Directors must be highly collaborative both with internal colleagues across various disciplines and external clients and vendor partners.
