Producer, Commercials – KATC

Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Lafayette, Louisiana is looking for a positive, proactive, creative, and highly engaged individual to work as a Producer, Commercials in Creative Services. A Producer, Commercials is someone who is eager to develop connections and help power our local economy through creative and effective advertising by working collaboratively with the sales team and clients to produce television commercials and other program materials. This includes conceptualizing, coordinating, writing, shooting, and editing commercials.

A DAY IN THE LIFE:

  • Conceive, write, and coordinate all video and audio materials necessary for production of commercials for station clients.

  • Assist sales management and staff in creating sales videos for client presentations.

  • Develop productive and effective relationships with clients and staff members.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • A Bachelors’ degree in Communications or a related field.

  • At least two (2) years of professional experience producing, editing, and writing.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • Able to shoot video on broadcast quality equipment

  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop

  • Professionalism to work with all levels of management and clients

  • Must be a team player; along with an ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • BATTLEFIELD SOLDIERS: Seeking submissions for men who appear to be white or black and teenage – early 40s (18+ years old) to portray soldiers fighting on the battlefield! Must be willing to grow out hair and facial hair is a PLUS! Filming will be exterior. Please no strong/modern cuts/styles (like locs or dreads) or unnatural colored highlights. The makeup department may add facial hair in some cases. 

**If you were previously booked for the battlefield scenes, you will also make the higher filming rate!

**As a condition of working on set, Background Actors (including children and parents) will be subject to the same testing requirements as cast & crew in advance of work dates.**

Production will also require that anyone over the age of 8 wear a face mask that covers your nose and mouth to be worn while on set or while at any production facility (including testing center).

WDSU, the Hearst Television NBC affiliate in New Orleans, is looking for an Executive Producer who can oversee fast-paced newscasts in an even faster –paced news market. We need a driven, organized leader who can articulate a vision for their shows and lead a team towards the vision. The right candidate will be a leader who can develop multi-platform content that succeeds on air, on mobile, and on social media. Responsibilities include the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a team of producers, reporters, anchors, and photojournalists who are committed to excellence. The Executive Producer is responsible for the overall content of assigned newscasts, manages all aspects of breaking news, and social engagement. The right candidate must be a pro when it comes to effective communication and decision making under daily deadline pressure. You must have proven ability in making decisions based on strong ethics, a solid producing background, and a desire to win. You must be able to research, pitch, and gather enterprise news stories, as well. The Executive Producer will work on recruiting producers and work closely with the News Director to implement winning strategies for each newscast. The ideal candidate can handle Breaking News when it comes and, when it doesn’t, can still oversee a compelling product that delivers interesting and relevant content to our viewers. Overseeing the product is only one facet of the job. You must also be a coach and a leader with the communications skills to make those you supervise better.

Experience Requirements:

One on-set adult (18+) is required to chaperone the minor and they must test alongside the minor. One on-set adult can chaperone multiple minors. Only the person working will be compensated for the test. In order to be booked, our office will submit a minor permit directly to Louisiana’s Labor Board. Documents needed to submit to the Labor Board is 1. Proof of age (ID or birth certificate), 2. Proof of Social Security Number and 3. a short form that the parent or guardian fills out. Our office will email you this form, once your minor is booked.

Since minors can only be at the filming location for 8 hours, productions commonly hire someone who matches the actor/actress to work when their time on set has expired.
