Southern Arizona Casting is hosting an audition/table read on Friday, the 14th of January from 5pm to 7pm at Southern Arizona Video Production at 911 S Tyndall Ave, Tucson, AZ 85719.

This is a pre-pre production session for a new drama/action film based on true events that took place in Tucson and surrounding areas in Southern Arizona and Mexico.

The roles we need for the table read are as follows:

  •  MANDY BOWERS, 30s, Border Patrol agent, petite and no-nonsense
  •  NATE HARDCASTLE, 30s, Border Patrol agent–the kind you wouldn’t want to mess with
  •  ROSITA DIbAZ, 20s, a knockout with attitude
  •  ANGEL JIMENEZ, 30s, leader of the Penasco Cartel, a lethal-looking man
  •  JIM TICE, 50s, OSI Special Agent in Charge, a big man in a small office
  •  JERRY HUNTER, 50s, a scruffy retired Marine
  •  AL WINSLOW, 50s, African American with a basketball physique
  •  GUS ENGSTROM, 60s, former small-town cop in a cowboy hat
  •  STUART BENNINGTON, 40s, sweaty Air Force Major
  •  JACK TICE, 20s, All-American kid with a drug addiction
  •  LANCE BENNINGTON, 20s, looks a little shady
  •  OSCAR DIAZ, 20s, a reluctant drug runner
  •  RICARDO GARCIA, 30s, thin and wiry
  •  ROSE ENGSTROM, 50s, a fiery redhead

If you are selected for the table read it does NOT guarantee a speaking role in the film.

However, anyone attending will be on the short list to audition once production starts.

There is no pay for this read, but this will be a union shoot at prevailing SAG/AFTRA wages.

Since the cast is rather large, you may be asked to read more than one role or another part not listed here. This can be helpful as you will be reading for the Producer, Director, Screenwriter and Author of the film.

Standard CDC rules will apply. Masks are required at arrival and you may have a temperature check before entering.

We will be finalizing the cast list for the read on the 12th and 13th.
