DESIGNER RTW DEVELOPMENT / PRODUCTION MANAGER – ARIAS NEW YORK
ARIAS New York is looking to hire a full-time professional in the role of Product Development / Production Manager. This role is key to the business and will report directly to the Director of Development/Production.
This position is responsible for maintaining an excellent track record of development through to production from initial sketch through to delivery of the final production units. Through everything they do, they communicate our core values and key brand aesthetics as a designer brand through design and quality.
Responsibilities include:
Process:
- Manage the day-to-day processes, making sure all timelines are met and communications are clear with garments being fit & made according to the company’s aesthetic and timeline
- Organize and attend fittings, follow up with fit comments for the pattern maker/factory
- Communicate comments on samples/PPS’ at all stages, first fit, the second fit, etc for the patternmaker and factory to ensure final production garments meet design and quality requirements
- Ensure patternmakers factories are provided with everything needed to start/finish development/production in a timely manner
- Oversee production quality control
- Work with grading and marking
- Work with trims and fabric suppliers
- Source Fabric & Trims in midtown, create flats, POs, Tech Packs, and Cut Tickets
Organization/ERP:
- Oversee ERP system inputs at the development stage of the new collection for costing purposes
- Update ERP system when anything changes at the development stage
- Keep all binders, boards, company dropbox and excels organized and up to date in real-time
Communication:
- Maintain excellent relationships and clear communication with internal cross-functional and external teams
- Source new and manage relationships with ongoing patternmakers, factories, and fabric/trims suppliers
Admin:
- Update internal inventory excels for fabrics, trims, patterns, and samples
- Consistently keep track of incoming invoices and have these paid in a timely manner
- Create and update various excel overviews for transparency within the company
Additional:
- Provide support as needed on all aspects of business development and day-to-day functions
The Candidate:
- 3-5+ years experience in NYC production designer womenswear required
- BA/AAS degree required in Fashion Design or Management
- Highly detail-oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated, reliable, independent, proactive, and team player
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
