The bit about the role

We are looking for a marketing manager who will be responsible for managing the creation and delivery of marketing plans for Glee. Glee is the UK’s leading garden and outdoor living trade show, taking place in June at the NEC in Birmingham. The role would suit someone who has a passion for marketing and experience in working and delivering marketing campaigns ideally within an events environment. This role sits within the UK Retail and Fashion Brand marketing team, with this person also working closely with the central digital marketing and content teams. This role also has line management responsibility of a Marketing Executive.

As part of your job, you’ll be:

•Stemming from the strategic marketing plan, manage the creation and delivery of the campaign plans for Glee, ensuring targeted messaging and activity plans per customer segment to drive visitor and exhibitor attendance.

•Lead and work with the campaign teams (digital, creative, automation, social and PR) and Marketing Executive to ensure efficient and effective delivery against the integrated strategic marketing plan.

•Lead at campaign team meetings to ensure that are all teams are integrated in their approach and working together to deliver against the plans and objectives

•Create clear, compelling and succinct briefs for the campaign team

•Analyse data from communication channels to ensure that each channel is effective and where necessary make changes to campaign plans and channels

•Report on and analyse pre reg visitor data and exhibitor leads

•Manage the marketing budget and be responsible for the budget tracker, ensuring this delivers the required commercial results and ROI. This includes allocating budget to specific event activity, working with other marketing team heads and the Exhibition Director to agree spend per channel/activity type; and regularly monitoring spend vs. results.

•With the Marketing Executive create and manage the partnership plan (including associations, professional bodies & media partners). This will require developing key relationships with these groups.

•Work with campaigns teams and Marketing Executive to ensure all plans translate into clear campaign and activity schedules, and meet required timelines, milestones and budgets; and that all elements of the plan are covered tactically, with someone accountable for delivering all aspects of the plan.

•Ensure strong communication with the Exhibition Director and delivery teams at all times, including weekly meetings to review activity, spend and results, and agree plans to optimise or remediate where needed.

•With Head of Marketing provide aggregated reporting of event KPI performance vs. target, ensuring full ownership of monthly marketing KPIs, and weekly reporting.

•Practiced in managing and implementing all aspects of the marketing mix.

•Experience in stakeholder (internal and external) management.

•Experience in budget management, with an analytical, data-driven and highly structured approach to decision-making

•Results-focused, able to clearly demonstrate success via proven metrics

•Ability to deliver presentations clearly, and succinctly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups within the team, in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

•Experience of working within the events industry or key market sectors desirable.

•Degree in business or marketing desirable.

•Agile mindset and ability to work in fast-paced, cross-functional teams

Carefully curating over 250 designer labels around outstanding works of contemporary art, Scoop offers visitors a unique and bespoke buying environment to discover a host of the new season collections.

Launched in February 2011, by Karen Radley, Scoop has developed into one of London’s leading fashion trade shows, encompassing an edited line up of premium women’s fashion as well as luxury home, beauty, lifestyle and men’s collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Stemming from the strategic marketing plan, manage the creation, and oversee delivery, of the campaign and media plans for event, ensuring targeted messaging and activity plans per customer segment and journey, ensuring that this drives profitable customer acquisition, customer experience and retention.

• Copywriting for Scoop digital campaigns including show publications, visitor email campaign and digital content on the website

• Execution of the email campaigns in collaboration with the central automation team and the Marketing Manager

• Manage social media channels for Scoop including writing, publishing posts and reporting for both organic and paid activities

• Assisting on design work, editing and support proofing of tangible and/or digital creative

• Work with key external suppliers and internal teams: PR, designers and internal automation and digital teams to ensure all channels are effectively optimised to produce the best results with the most effective spend

• Support the project delivery for Scoop International shows including high-quality copywriting, proofreading, sourcing the right images and ensuring we meet all deadlines

• Brief, distribute and measure marketing campaigns for Scoop – email, social media, website, PPC and press

• Maintain the marketing cost tracker for Scoop event, by raising PO’s and communicating these to suppliers and continually monitoring spend supported by Marketing Manager

• Ensure all internal and external stakeholders follow the writing style guide for Scoop and support the development for our tone of voice to take the brand to next level

• Work with Marketing Manager to identify new and insightful media partners

• Manage the delivery of media partnerships, liaising with designers, providing collateral, building relationships and monitoring execution

• Support on photo/videography briefs and delivery onsite and throughout the year

• Provide regular channel analysis to Marketing Manager for regular reporting of event KPI performance vs. target.

• Lead and work with the campaign teams (digital, creative, automation, social and PR) and Marketing Assistant to ensure efficient and effective delivery against the integrated strategic marketing plan

• Ensure strong communication with the Marketing Manager at all times, including meetings to review activity, spend and results, and agree on plans to optimise or remediate where needed.

• Manage, enhance and clean the delegates and exhibitors database, working with relevant functions

• Provide general admin support as and when required by the team and on some occasions required to deputise Marketing Manager and attend or present in meetings

Valued Skills

• Experience of creating highly effective tactical marketing plans.

• Experience growing and nurturing delegates/exhibitors communities.

• Copywriting skills – must demonstrate examples of compelling content production for emails, website, and print

• Experience in developing and executing digital B2B marketing initiatives to generate leads.

• Experience in creating face-to-face and digital/online customer experiences.

• Practiced in managing and implementing all aspects of the marketing mix.

• Experience of developing customer insight, segmentation and improving customer experience.

• Experience in stakeholder (internal and external) management.

• Experience in budget management, with an analytical, data-driven and highly structured approach to decision-making

• Experience in identifying relevant media partners and experience of working within the events industry – desirable

• Proficiency in Photoshop, HTML and In-design and knowledge of marketo, Hootsuite and CRM – desirable.

• Ability to raising PO’s and communicating these to suppliers and continually monitoring spend

• Fluent in English (verbal and written) and demonstrable ability to communicate confidently and to negotiate.

• Strongly results-focused, able to clearly demonstrate success via proven metrics

• Proven relationship skills – able to build and develop working relationships across the business to facilitate accomplishing goals, leverage learning and share best practices.

• Experience of working within the events industry or fashion industry desirable.

• Ability to deliver presentations clearly, and succinctly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups within the team in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.

• Degree in business or marketing/ CIM diploma desirable.

About you

As a Content Producer for the EdTech portfolio, you will be joining a Content team of four and will be responsible for the programming and onsite delivery of up to three content features for our flagship show Bett UK.

This will include programming across one of our most recent and most exciting launch features: Esports @ Bett. You will also support on the portfolio’s 365 content-marketing campaign and pre-show speaker logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of content across your allocated features.
  • Content generation: responsible for conducting a research campaign and analysis of key subject areas and trends.
  • Accountable for editorial speaker recruitment across allocated features. Bett is committed to producing an inclusive and representative content agenda for our visitors, and your programmes and speaker recruitment should support and reflect this.
  • Content development: evolution of themes, topics and formats designed to deliver new audience segments to Bett.
  • Collaboration with the Sales team to maximize revenue from each content feature whilst ensuring that the quality of the content is delivered to the highest standard.
  • Collaboration with the Marketing team to deliver buyer side visitors by leveraging strong speaker line ups with associated content marketing which may include video, written and social media-based campaigns.
  • Supporting Bett’s 365 Digital Content Campaign: Working with other content team members to commission new pieces of editorial content for newsletters, Bett’s community hub, and social media.
  • Project management: working with the show project teams including marketing, sales and operations to deliver to deadline and within budget
  • Onsite delivery: managing onsite execution of content features to exceptional standards of customer service.
  • Speaker logistics support: Including, but not limited to, sending out speaker instructions, collecting speaker assets, updating speaker profiles and agendas on the Bett website.
  • ESG Initiatives: Supporting the team with the generation and development of new ESG content initiatives to ensure Bett is driving awareness into sustainability.

Skills Required

  • Established experience of conference production.
  • Experience within the technology or education sectors beneficial, but not required
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – able to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • A high level of commercial awareness and be target and deadline driven.
