Here’s the Star Wars: Force Awakens gay rumor that everyone is talking about.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is finally out world wide, and has been the center of several fan theories ever since the movie was released. From Rey’s lineage, Snoke’s identity, Leia’s force abilities, fans have debated their thoughts on the loose ends from The Force Awakens. One popular theory that has been gaining the most attention is the possiblity of a gay relationship in The Force Awakens between Finn and Poe.
However, John Boyega has an interview with Shortlist being released soon, and the editor has gave a teaser regarding the rumor:

This denial is pretty surprising as the signs have been signaling a possible gay Star Wars relationship for a while now. Rumors started to circulate pretty much immediately after The Force Awakens hit theaters. Finn and Poe have seemingly instant connection, with Poe going so far as to give Finn his name. Oscar Isaac added fuel to the fire in a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, claiming Poe has a relationship that will be exposed in the next movie. “I think it’s very subtle romance that’s happening. You know, you have to just look very close — you have to watch it a few times to see the little hints. But there was.”

After those statements, it seems pretty straightforward tha tsomething is going on between Poe and Finn. Indeed, Poe didnt have any major scenes besides the beginning and ending of the movie. And we can assume that he wasn’t in love with BB-8. In fact, Poe gave Finn a jacket that was worn throughout the entire movie and typically guys don’t share clothes with other guys.
I recently saw The Force Awakens with the staff here at Project Casting for a second time and it’s hard to deny that there’s not a relationship between Poe and Finn. Indeed, it would be a very touchy subject to tackle especially since the movie has made billions before every premiering in China.
Apparently, John Boyega is going to end this rumor in the upcoming interview. But, this begs the question: who was Oscar talking about when he said a romance was coming soon?

Hollywood is marketing and creating more and more shows for Hispanic audiences.
Hulu’s East Los High is a hidden gem but, an extremely popular series in Hispanic audiences especially on the West Coast. And the number of shows targeted towards Hispanics is slowly increasing.
Like it or not, Hispanics are going to become the majority of America by 2050. And Hollywood is paying close attention. That’s why Starz Network CEO is creating TV shows directed for Hispanic audiences.
Starz CEO Chris Albrecht announced today at the TCA winter press confrence that they are making changes for Latino viewers and producing shows created by Hispanic creators, writers and producers.
That’s HUGE.
But, what kind of shows are the Starz network creating? It’s a mixture of supernatural thrillers, comedies, and drama. Here is the breakdown of the shows according to THR:
Maleficio is an hourlong drama that centers around a powerful Mexican businessman who has made a deadly deal with the devil.
Pour Vida, a half-hour dramedy, centers around the Hernandez sisters who inherit a building in East Los Angeles and attempt to start their own business.
Santeria is a Sci-fi drama that centers on two undercover agents who investigate a strange murder. The drama is exepected to explore the relationship between Cubans and Santeria, the ancient religion born on the island of Cuba. The series will feature an all star crew including Alejandro Brugues (From Dusk Till Dawn) and Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project, From Dusk Till Dawn) will executive produce and direct with Gregg Hale (The Blair Witch Project) on board as an EP.
This is a smart decision on part of Starz Network. Here’s why, according to a 2014 study by The Wrap, Hispanic audiences go to the movies more often, spend more money at concession stands, and spend more promotional products. In addition, “according to figures from the U.S. Census and a Nielsen report on movie audiences, Hispanics make up 15 percent of the population over the age of 12, and 19 percent of tickets sold for teens and older.”
Starz Network is not alone. Major talent agencies have assembled groups to create a strategy for Hispanic audiences. In fact, Universal and Warner Bros. have hired and promoted marketing executives dedicated to the same market, while major movie studios are creating movies specifically for Spanish-speaking markets. “Hispanics are becoming less of a niche audience and more a part of the mainstream,” Fabian Castro, SVP of multicultural marketing at Universal, told TheWrap.
This type of influence translates into marketing changes in Hollywood. You may not recall Tom Hanks box office flop, Larry Crowne but, Academy Award winning actor Tom Hanks popped up at a Hispanic weather report.
This illustrates how important Hollywood thinks it is to tap into the Hispanic market that they are sending their biggest actor to do awkward guest appearances during a random news weather report.
But, what makes Starz Network different and so important is that they are focusing on the Hispanic narrative. Starz executives are hiring Hispanic actors, writers, and directors to create dramas that speak to their family, friends and America’s future majority leaders.

Justin Bieber is back at doing what he does best: pissing people off.
According to reports, while visiting the Mayan pyramids with his entourage during a trip to Cancun, Mexico this week, Bieber pulled a stunt that would most likely get him banned from South of the Border for the rest of his life. Officials say Justin Bieber and his entourage got kickd out of the ruins on Thursday. Several reports suggest that Bieber pulled down his pants in the Mayan Ruins. However, official authorities will only say they did something outrageous.
This is not the first time something like this happened. Justin Bieber was kicked out of the Vatican for playing football, was carried by a group of man-servants up the Great Wall of China, and wrote in the Anne Frank House guest book that Anne Frank would have been a “Belieber.” So, while Bieber may be “sorry” for his latest antics, it’s good to know that Bieber has never changed.

The last episode of The Big Bang Theory featured 12 minutes of commercial.
If you are still watching The Big Bang Theory, which is currently airing their ninth season on CBS, then you probably noticed something strange about the last episode, “The Sales Call Sublimation.”
As Reddit user specialkkurtis showed on the r/television forum, the episode was only 18 minutes and 34 seconds in length. Since The Big Bang Theory is in the half-hour slot on Thursday nights, that means viewers watched 11 minutes and 26 seconds of commercials.
“I’m used to half hour comedies actually being 21/22 minutes long, but under 19 minutes seems kind of ridiculous,” wrote specialkkurtis. “I don’t remember any other such shows having such short episodes, but I have no way to back that up.”

According to one Reddit user, a six minute commercial break was placed in the middle of the episode. Another commenter noted that The Big Bang Theory’s episodes have started getting shorter and shorter since the second season. In fact, the average episode ranges as low as 18 minutes.
This illustrates how TV executives are making TV shows shorter and shorter. In fact, old episodes of M.A.S.H. were 25 minutes on average.

If you’re a big fan of The Walking Dead series, then we have good news for you.
The AMC network chief has just revealed that he never plans on canceling the zombie drama…how ironic.
AMC will launch the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead season 6 on February 14, 2016, which has many fans asking, “how much longer will the series remain on TV?” Well, according to a new interview with Vulture, the answer could be summed up in one word: FOREVER.
“The answer to how long the show will go on in some way is directly correlated with the health
of the storytelling in the comics,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development at AMC. “Those comics are firing on all cylinders. [Robert Kirkman] still writes every line of dialogue in those books, and is as engaged as he was when I think he was sitting around in Kentucky writing the first issue. That is very much part of the DNA of the show. He sort of felt like, in real life, this goes on for a very long time. We’re along for that ride.”

Wyatt Cenac is begging TBS to hire non-white people for his new TV show.
Wyatt Cenac, who’s starring in the upcoming TBS comedy People of Earth, has publicly put pressure on the network to diversity the show’s staff.
The series, which centers on alien abduction survivors in a support group, stars Cenac as Ozzie Graham, “a journalist who is skeptical of the alien-abduction claims at first but comes to suspect that he’s had his own close encounter,” according to Variety.
Conan O’Brien is executive producing the project with several major cast members including Ana Gasteyer and Oscar Nunez from The Office.
TBS officially ordered the series earlier this week, which prompted the following tweet, challenging the show’s producers to diversity the crew.

Jennifer Lawrence reveals that her parents did not want her to become an actress.
Jennifer Lawrence is one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood. But her mother wasn’t so excited about her dream of becoming an actress, the 25-year-old Hunger Games star told the new issue of Glamour.
“I grew up in Kentucky, so nobody was like, You’re gonna be a movie star. There just wasn’t a possibility. And then, when I told my parents when I was 14 that I wanted to move to New York and become an actress, they were like, “Well, no. Obviously,”‘ said Jennifer Lawrence.

But then she saved up her own money to try it out. ‘My mom always says she…wanted me to fail so that I could come home, because not failing meant me being in New York. She lost a daughter, really, at 14. I mean, she’s very proud of me. She got on board when she saw how happy it made me,’ she added.
Nowadays, her mother has a different perspective.
“My mom was really religious with me when I was young. She’s not so much anymore,” said the Silver Linings Playbook star.
Lawrence also discussed how she supports Planned Parenthood.
“And I wouldn’t have been able to get birth control if it weren’t for Planned P. I wouldn’t have been able to get condoms and birth control and all these things I needed as a normal teenager who was growing up in a Jesus house … and now I am a successful woman who has not had a pregnancy.”
Lawrence most recently filmed her new movie Passengers alongside with Chris Pratt in Atlanta, Georgia. Passengers is about a man, played by Chris Pratt, who is among thousands of passengers on a colony ship on an interstellar journey. Awakened early from a cryogenic sleep by a system malfunction, he finally makes the decision to wake another sleeping passenger, to be played by Jennifer Lawrence, to avoid spending decades alone on the ship

Tyler Perry has a multi-million dollar movie empire, which has helped put him in the position as one of the highest paid men in the entertainment industry but, that has not stopped the world from criticizing his movies.
Despite making so much money, the former Atlanta homeless man has faced criticism from people who think his characters exploit the black community by featuring stereotypical characters.
In a new profile in New York magazine, Tyler Perry says that he’s surprised by the people who criticize his movies. “Let me tell you what took me aback about that, when people were like, ‘How dare you put fat black people on television, these are caricatures, these are stereotypes’ — I was so offended because my aunt’s fat. My mother’s fat. My cousins are fat,” he told New York’s Rembert Browne. “People who are like, ‘How dare you — these harken back to Mammy, Amos ’n’ Andy.’ I would hear all these things, and I would go, hmmm.”

In a 2009 intervie with Black Enterprise, Spike Lee called Tyler Perry’s TV shows Meet the Browns and House of Payne as “coonery and buffoonery.” Tyler Perry responded by saying, “I’m so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee. Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me. I am sick of him saying, ‘this is a coon, this is a buffoon.’ I am sick of him talking about Black people going to see movies. This is what he said: ‘You vote by what you see,’ as if Black people don’t know what they want to see.”
Even though the two have since settled their differences, the 46-year-old opened up in the interview about how Lee’s comments had an affect on his audience. “There’s a lot of my audience that likes what he does. And there’s a lot of his audience that likes what I do,” he said. “And when you make those kind of broad, general strokes, and you paint your audiences in them, they go, ‘Wait a minute, are you talking about me? Are you talking about my mom?’”

Over 4,000 people have signed a petition to have George Lucas direct the next Star Warsmovie.
Some people are not too happy with the latest Star Wars movie and have started a petition to bring George Lucas back. And despite the fact that Lucas is no longer interested in directing another Star Wars movie, some fans are determined to convince the legendary filmmaker that he’s perfect for Episode IX.
A petition launched on Change.org asked Disney to “Bring Back George Lucas for the Star Wars Movies.” “Put the father of the franchise as director of Episode IX,” writes organizer Yuri Luiz. “We really want this, please.”

So far, the petition has over 4,000 supporters, who have a huge battle against a billion dollar corporation. Especially when George Lucas said he’s done with major motion pictures. In fact, Lucas said he’s more into “experimental” films and when he described the new Star Wars movie to execs he was interested in doing a “retro” movie, which was an idea Disney did not really approve.
