Star Wars 7: Executive Producer JJ Abrams Plans to Cast Unknown Actors for the Movie

Date:

Star Wars 7 producer, JJ Abrams plans on casting unknown actors for the new movie.

According to Dominic Monaghan, the actor who starred in JJ Abrams hit television series “LOST”, he commented that Abrams will apparently be avoiding big-name actors to make sure fans aren’t “taken out” of the Star Wars universe while watching the film

The actor spoke with Abrams about the Star Wars 7 project and said something quite shocking.

“We’re putting together a cast of unknowns – we want to follow the ’77 New Hope cast because obviously Harrison Ford wasn’t well known at that point, Mark Hamill wasn’t and Carrie Fisher wasn’t either.”

Essentially what JJ Abrams is trying to avoid is the that mistake of people going “Oh it’s that guy from that thing!” and then you’re completely out of the Star Wars universe.’
