Jared Leto Acting Tips He Learned Working on ‘Suicide Squad’

Jared Leto reveals his best acting tips he learned while working on set of Suicide Squad.

The anticipation for the upcoming Suicide Squad movie is ramping up. Despite, reports of major reshoots for the spinoff to the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, Jared Leto and the rest of the cast are sharing inside details behind the villain inspired movie.

The Oscar-winning actor talked to Entertainment Weekly openly discussed the difficulties and challenges of taking on the role of Joker especially after Heath Ledger made the character infamous in The Dark Knight.

“You just knew you had to do something different. You had to make it your own. That happens all the time,” Leto said. “Whether you’re a composer working on a piece of music that was written a century ago, or you’re an actor on stage, reinterpreting a play, it’s very common these days. Directors take on great works of cinema, actors reinterpret roles, that’s been going on for a great deal of time. From ‘Scarface’ to ‘Hamlet.’ In some ways it’s really interesting to reinterpret, redefine.”

“The work that’s been done on this character by so many people before me has been so impactful, so incredible, so much fun, so profound, so risky, that it’s a very special thing to be asked to take on that responsibility,” Leto added.

That’s some pretty deep acting advice. While many actors feel the need to imitate, Jared Leto is confident in his acting abilities that he wants to make the movie role his own. And based on Jared Leto’s acting experience in the best, I know he can do it.

Suicide Squad is directed and co-written by David Ayer. Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5th.

I believe at the end of the day Abrams and Disney made the right decision by casting Ridley. Her acting skills helped raise the bar for movies all around the world and her skills helped put Star Wars: The Force Awakens in the movie Box Office Hall of Fame. But, Ridley worked hard in order to land the role in the Star Wars movie.

She further had roles in short films, including Scrawl, 100% Beef, and Crossed Wires. 9 Movie Scenes That Almost Made Actors Quit [VIDEO]

0

Here are movie scenes that almost made actors quit acting.

While Hollywood may look like glamorous from the outside and the idea of being famous is appealing to people all over the world, there is also a dark side to acting in the film industry. For example, the amount of hard work such as long hours, grueling set conditions, and personal convictions can all impact an actor’s mental health and future career.

That kind of work can pressure a person’s limits not just as an actor but as a human being. Recently, YouTube channel, Looper, created a video highlighting 9 scenes that almost made actors quit acting.

The video highlights how Michelle Rodriguez didn’t approve of the script for The Fast and The Furious, which was extremely risky for an actress who never appeared in major movies before this project. Ultimately, producers would agree with Rodriguez and change the script.

The video features:

  1. Michelle Rodriguez in The Fast and the Furious
  2. Lauren Cohan in The Walking Dead
  3. Jim Carrey in The Grinch
  4. Ian McKellen in The Hobbit
  5. Jessica Alba in Fantastic Four
  6. Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire
  7. Russell Crowe in Robin Hood
  8. Emma Watson in Harry Potter
  9. Al Pacino in The Godfather

Margot Robbie Punched Co-Star in ‘Tarzan’ Sex Scene

Margot Robbie punched Alexander Skarsgård during a sex scene in the movie ‘The Legend of Tarzan’.

As if The Legend of Tarzan rumors couldn’t get any crazier. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the movie’s director, David Yates, revealed an on-set mistake between Margot Robbie and Alexander Skarsgard during a sex scene.

Apparently, Margot Robbie punched Alexander Skarsgard during the sex scene. Ouch.

“They’re doing this love scene together, and I said [to Robbie], ‘Just slap Alex while you’re making love, just kind of give him a punch,’’” Yates says. Okay then!

As he pointed out, the scene didn’t end up going as planned. “It was sort of an earthy, sensual moment of her enjoying sex with Alex, and the only bruise he picked up during the entire shoot was probably that punch from Margot. Which says a lot about her feistiness.”

Despite getting punched and bruised, Skarsgard was a good sport and I bet he didn’t mind getting punched by the beautiful Margot Robbie. In fact, Skarsgard pointed out that he firmly believes that Jane is not a damsel in distress, waiting for a man to save her. Instead she’s an independent woman who knows what she wants out of life.

“It was very important that we didn’t want it to feel archaic or dated, where it’s like, tough guy has to save the poor girl,” he said. “You have to feel that she’s strong and independent, and when you cast Margot, you’ll definitely get that.”

Check out the trailer for The Legend of Tarzan below:

It’s important to point out that this is not the first time Margot Robbie punched a co-star. Apparently, Robbie slapped Leonardo DiCaprio on set of Wolf of Wall Street. Robbie revealed what happened in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar. The Australian actress revealed that she slapped DiCaprio as she was trying to find something to stand out during her audition. Here’s what happened:

In my head I was like, ‘You have literally 30 seconds left in this room and if you don’t do something impressive nothing will ever come of it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance, just take it.’ And so I start screaming at him and he’s yelling back at me. And he’s really scary. I can barely keep up.

And he ends it saying, ‘You should be happy to have a husband like me. Now get over here and kiss me.’ So I walk up really close to his face and then I’m like, ‘Maybe I should kiss him. When else am I ever going to get a chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio, ever?’

But another part of my brain clicks and I just go, Whack! I hit him in the face. And then I scream, ‘Fuck you!’ And that’s not in the script at all. The room just went dead silent and I froze.

After slapping one of the most popular actors in Hollywood, Robbie admitted that she was afraid that she was going to get arrested or told that she would never work in Hollywood again. Thankfully, the opposite happened Martin Scorsese and Leonardo Caprio both started laughing. In fact, DiCaprio enjoyed getting hist by Robbie so much that he asked her to “Hit me again!”

I guess there’s a method to Margot Robbie’s madness.

[WATCH] How The Academy Chooses The Best Picture Winner

0

Have you ever wanted to know how the Oscar winners are selected?

Well, I used to think that everyone would send a text message to a particular number similar to The American Idol contests. However, thanks to a video released by TheWrap, it’s a whole lot more complicated than just tallying up a number of votes.

Apparently, The Oscars use a preferential voting system and this video explains in detail how the Best Picture will be decided by the Academy members’ ballots. Why a preferential voting system? “Because it keeps asking the voters to express a preference: Which of these films do you prefer?”

The preferential system basically says to those voters, Your first choice was eliminated. Out of the seven movies that are still in the running, which do you prefer? That question can be answered by seeing which film is ranked second on each of those ballots. If, for instance, “Bridge of Spies” is the first film to be eliminated, and a “Bridge of Spies” voter has “Brooklyn” ranked second, that ballot goes into the pile for “Brooklyn.” If “The Revenant” is ranked second, the ballot goes into that pile. All of the “Bridge of Spies” voters are still casting a vote — but now they’re casting it for the film in second place on their ballot, not the film in first.

[WATCH] Hollywood’s Biggest Actors Read Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets

Oscar-nominated actors read Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets.

Jimmy Kimmel’s Mean Tweets never fail to make us laugh, and in celebration for this year’s Academy Awards, Kevin Costner, Emily Blunt, Kevin Hart, Jessica Chastain, Richard Dreyfuss and Seth Rogen all read messages poking fun at them on social media.

James Bond’s “Spectre” villain Christoph Waltz was told he was “pretty f–kin’ boring” by one Twitter user, who admitted they “had no idea who he is.”

Hollywood’s biggest actor George Clooney was described as a “gross ratty old man,” while Eddie Redmayne was told he “looks like someone tried his nose but couldn’t completely. I also think he looks permanently dehydrated.”

Emily Blunt has “a purdy mouth … which I would like to poop in,” wrote one pretty crazy Twitter user.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live!” airs at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.

Casey Affleck Has Awkward Interview with Stephen Colbert: ‘You Wanna Fight Me?’

0

Actor Casey Affleck offers to fight Stephen Colbert after an awkward interview.

Actor Casey Affleck does not have a great sense of humor about himself, so if you’re a late night host, don’t make fun of him.

Appearing on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert to promote his new movie Triple 9which filmed in Atlanta, Affleck did not respond to some jokes about his sloppy outfit.

Well, you look great,” Colbert joked, which was nicer than calling out Affleck for looking for like the ignored younger brother that nobody pays attention to.

The interview immediately turned tense and extremely uncomfortable, with Affleck bashing Colbert and forcing Colbert to point out that it was “just some playful ribbing.”

After complaining and looking annoyed, Affleck eventually broke the tension by offering to fight the late night host.

I guess that happens when you’re older brother is Batman.

This ‘Walking Dead’ Actress BEGGED Not to Get Killed Off

0

The Walking Dead Spoiler Alert: This Walking Dead actress begged not to get killed off.

Everyone on the cast of The Walking Dead understands that eventually they will get killed off the show. It’s just business. As a recent study pointed out, the best way to keep people interested is by killing off major TWD characters. However, one major character wasn’t ready to leave the show and begged that she wouldn’t be killed off The Walking Dead.

And I mean why not? They get to live in Atlanta, hang out with celebrities, and appear on the most watched show on television. That’s why when an actor gets word that they are getting killed off, he or she usually tries to talk the producers into letting them stick around.

It doesn’t work very often. But, actress Melissa McBride was able to convince The Walking Dead producers not to kill her off. In fact, producers decided to kill T-Dogg off instead. In addition, Jeffrey DeMunn, who played Dale, was also famously asked to be killed off out of respect to Frank Darabont, who had been fired from the show. But he later had a change of heart and tried to convince the writers not to kill him. Unfortunately for DeMunn, the change had already been scripted and planned.

deanna

A few months ago, when Deanna was killed off, she also tried to talk showrunner Scott Gimple into letting her stay. She even offered him a couple of ideas on how to change the storyline for her character. Here were her ideas:

  • I wanted Rick to be my brawn, to be my Colin Powell, to be my great general, and I wanted to be the political brains behind a building web linking one decent community to another, even if it was just a dozen people. And somehow we would do away with this walker situation.
  • My other idea is that even though I have been bitten, I’m the one with the cure. It’s in the blood. I’m the one with the immune ability somehow to survive it. But that’s yet to be seen.

Jessie Walking Dead

The latest cast member to try to change her fate on the show was Alexandra Breckenridge, whose character, Jessie, died along with her two sons, Sam and Ron, in the midseason premiere. She was not ready to leave the cast and crew of The Walking Dead and tried to change her fate.

I sent Scott an email and had a pitch for how he didn’t have to kill Jessie. It wasn’t totally serious and said, ‘Her children get killed, Sam is eaten and Ron is killed trying to kill Rick – and Jessie leaves the group and you don’t find her again for another year and a half when you see her in season seven or eight and she’s a crazy feral woman. I thought it was fun. It was a more interesting direction than standing there in shock and getting eaten herself.

At the end of the day it just proves how much the cast loves working on The Walking Dead and how no one ever wants to leave the show.

[WATCH] ‘The Day Beyoncé Turned Black is the SNL Skit That Everyone is Talking About

0

Here’s the Saturday Night Live Beyoncé sketch everyone is talking about.

In a digital sketch following Melissa McCarthy’s monologue, SNL poked fun at “the day Beyonce turned black,” showing white people who just didn’t understand Beyonce’s new song “Formation.”

The sketch starts out with a voiceover intro referencing the day that Beyonce surprise-dropped her latest single and performed it at the Super Bowl with Coldplay and Bruno Mars the next day: “For white people, it was just another great week. They never saw it coming. They had no warning. Then, the day before the Super Bowl, it happened.”

The video, which is in the form of a horror movie trailer, shows white people going crazy over Beyonce as they finally realize the superstar is black. People start acting like it’s the end of the world once they discover other popular black actors are black.

But at the end of the Saturday Night Live sketch, the video showed that white people still had one singer to call their own. “Mom, is Taylor Swift still white?”

[WATCH] Deleted ‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Scenes Leak Online

0

Mrs. Doubtfire deleted scenes leak online and it’s pretty depressing.

While most of us have not watched Mrs. Doubtfire in the past ten years, but when you think of the movie today, what comes to mind? A prequel for Tyler Perry’s Madea?

Sure, at the movie’s core there are some serious issues going on, like how a divorce can destroy a family, but who remembers those details? Well, if these recently surfaced deleted scenes had been included, Mrs. Doubtfire might have been a significantly more depressing movie.

In the first movie, Robin Williams’ character Daniel shows up to his daughter’s spelling bee, only to find out that some lady had taken the seat that his other kids had tried to save for him. Daniel then proceeds to get in an argument with his estranged wife Miranda in the middle of the spelling bee, causing his daughter to screw up on stage while she looks on at her parents fighting.

There are other heartbreaking scenes. But, after watching this, it’s pretty easy to understand why they went with more comical and outrageous scenes and not a version that would have put kids in therapy some day.

Watch Keanu Reeves train for the movie John Wick in this fight choreography video.

There is a lot of work that goes into making a movie. There’s the camera, lighting, casting, and editing process. However, when actors make action movies, there is a ton of work on stunt work. In fact, there is a complete choreography process to creating those iconic fighting scenes.

On Wednesday, the Internet uploaded a video showing Keanu Reeves training and learning choreography for the movie John Wick and boy, does it look intense.

There are very few actors that can handle such a grueling and complicated fight choregraphy displayed in the box office hit movie John Wick and watching Reeves fight bad guys, it’s clear to see that Reeves is talented.

John Wick centers around an ex-hitman comes out of retirement to track down the gangsters that took everything from him. The movie did extremely well in the box office and over $14 million in the box office.

Seven years before The Fast and the Furious, Vin Diesel started his acting career, he was selling toys instead of racing cars.

On Wednesday, footage of the actor playing with action figures at a 1994 toy fair started to go viral.

A young Vin Diesel really got into selling the “Street Shark” action figures complete with a shark-tooth necklace and earring.

First up was whale shark Boomer, who’s “got the biggest mouth of them all,” a shirtless, leather-vested Diesel hypes to the camera.

“Say hello to that round mound of pound and his power-slam,” Diesel added. “Very deadly. He loves to tenderize the competition before he eats them.”

Spike Lee Bashes Hollywood Film Execs: “I’d like to hear from white nominees”

0

Spike Lee is not taking the lack of diversity in Hollywood sitting down.

In an interview with TheWrap, Spike Lee confirmed that he would not attend this year’s Academy Awards this year and demanded that white nominees and studios speak out about the lack of diversity among this year’s nominees.

“I’ve not heard except from Charlotte Rampling, one person – I’d like to hear from white nominees, studio heads – let’s hear from them,” said the director during an interview with TheWrap at the Sundance Film Festival.

And then Spike Lee pointed out how white actors and studio executives were more supportive of African Americans in the past than they are today. Spike Lee started naming Hollywood stars who marched with Martin Luther King in 1963:

“In 1963 these individuals marched with Dr. Martin Luther King – James Garner, Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Frank Mankiewicz, Marlon Brando, Burt Lancaster, Paul Newman and his wife Joanne Woodward.

“At the time, these were the biggest stars in Hollywood. They marched with Dr. King. Compare to today – very few. Love the George Clooney, love the Jonathan Demme, love the Danny DeVito… but those are few. A lot of people are silent. Think about it.”

Spike Lee continued on by saying: “Those were the biggest Hollywood stars at the time. We’re not seeing that today, in my opinion…  I’ve not heard except from Charlotte Rampling, one person – I’d like to hear from white nominees, studio heads – let’s hear from them. Name me one studio head who’s gone on the record and said anything.”

‘SNL’ Bashes The Oscars in this Hilarious #OscarsSoWhite Sketch

0

Saturday Night Live roasts Hollywood for #OscarsSoWhite controversy.

SNL bashed Hollywood this week following the second year in a row African-Americans were nominated for an Oscar in any of the acting categories.

The sketch show got its point across in a roundabout way by pocking fun at the lack of diversity at a fictional awards show.

Only white actors with tiny roles were nominated in the leading role category for predominately black films.

From just a voice heard over the phone to a background extra accidentally walking into the frame, the sketch really bashes Hollywood.

In the end, the winner of the award was a tie between all the white people.

[WATCH] SNL’s Kylo Ren Skit Outtakes are Funnier Than the Original

Saturday Night Live’s “Undercover Boss” skit has just released their outtakes and it’s hilarious!

Adam Driver hosted Saturday Night Live last week and by far it was one of the most talked about skits in recent history. The skit centered around the Undercover Boss and featured River as his Star Wars character, Kylo Ren. Now, SNL has released the skit’s outtakes and they are funnier than the skit itself.

You can watch the original skit below, but above are the outtakes, which features some great fourth wall breaking by Driver, Taran Killam and Bobby Moynihan. But the best bit has to be Leslie Jones not breaking as she fights with Adam Driver and someone dressed up as a Stormtrooper. It’s hilarious!
