HBO’s new movie “Blue Goose Hollow” starring Queen Latifah is holding a casting call in Atlanta, Georgia.

“Blue Goose Hollow” will center around Bettie Smith’s life and music. Smith was one of the biggest blues singers in the 1920′s and 1930′s. Her nickname was ‘The Empress of The Blues’. Her career took a hit during the Great Depression, and as she was trying to make a comeback, she lost her life due to a major car accident.

The movie will be directed and written by Dee Rees, the director of the Pariah. Latifah will star as Smith, and her production company Flavor Unit will produce alongside the Zanuck Company, Shelby Stone Productions, and HBO.

Investigation Discovery’s hit show ‘Surviving Evil’ is seeking actors to appear in the TV series filming in Tennessee.

SURVIVING EVIL features dramatically compelling and emotional stories of victims who fought back against their attackers and, against amazing odds, survived. Joining Investigation Discovery as host of the series is Charisma Carpenter, best known for her role as Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel.

Carpenter is the survivor of a real-life incident that she endured more than 20 years ago. The actress and two friends were swimming at San Diego’s Torrey Pines State Beach in 1991 when they were violently attacked by an armed, rogue police officer. Carpenter fought for her survival after being held at gunpoint, but her two friends were both shot by the attacker and seriously wounded. The police officer was sentenced to 56 years in prison for the attacks in addition to a series of rapes and robberies. [via]

Longmire is a crime drama that premiered in the summer of 2012 on A&E. The series was created by John Coveny and Hunt Baldwin and is based on the novel series written by Craig Johnson. The plot of the show follows Walt Longmire, the Sherrif of Absarok County, Wyoming.

Longmire returns to his job after his wife dies. In the 1990s, Law and Order was one of the biggest shows on television. It was watched by millions and loved by actors as well. The show featured centered on crimes and every episode essentially needed a new cast. The show was so popular it gave birth to other spin-offs such as  Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and not so popular, Law and Order: Los Angeles, Law and Order: UK and Law and Order: Trial By Jury.

‘Orange is the New Black‘ is like the spin-off to Law and Order that shows what happens to the criminals once they are sent to prison.  If you don’t know Orange is the New Black centers on  around Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling), a bisexual woman, engaged to a man, living in New York City, who is sentenced to 15 months in a women’s federal prison for transporting a suitcase full of drug money to her former girlfriend who is an international drug smuggler. Casting directors for a huge feature film filming in Los Angeles is currently seeking men with real military and weapons experience. Filming is scheduled for Monday 30th and Tuesday, July 1st.

‘The Sunday Horse’ Movie Casting Call for Horseback Riders, Extras in Atlanta

‘The Sunday Horse‘ movie posted a casting call for horseback riders and extras to appear in the movie currently filming in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Sunday Horse’ is a feature film that is inspired by the story of Debi Connor, a rider from the wrong side of the tracks who overcomes prejudice and a near-fatal accident to become the United States champion jumper on a horse that everyone dismissed as untalented.

The movie will be directed by Academy Award winner, Vic Armstrong who is just coming off working with Nicholas Cage in ‘Left Behind’. The story is written by Fred T. Kuehnert, and will be produced by Ronnie Clemmer and co-produced by John Duffy.

Casting directors are looking for people to work on several scenes filming this week in Atlanta, Georgia. New Life Casting is especially looking for Caucasian girls with their own English Horseback Riding gear but, they are also looking for men and women of all ages and ethnicities.

Ashby starring Mickey Rourke posted a casting call seeking a photo double for one of the actors in the upcoming feature film.

Tona B. Dahlquist is currently casting extras those interested in working as extras in Tony McNamara’s upcoming comedy-drama ASHBY, set to star Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler, Iron Man 2), Nat Wolff (The Fault in our Stars, The Naked Brothers Band), Emma Roberts (We’re The Millers, Palo Alto) and Sarah Silverman (A Million Ways To Die In The West). 

The comedy-drama Ashby follows the relationship between a high school student, to be played by Nat Wolff, and a retired CIA assassin who only has months to live.

Casting directors are looking for a photo double that resembles the actor seen below. The photo double must have an athletic to slender build, 5’11 and in their late 30’s to 40’s.

‘The Longest Ride’ is casting extras for a scene in the movie from the author of “The Notebook”.

Marty Siu Casting is currently seeking extras for a scene filming on Thursday.

Based on the Nicholas Sparks novel, “The Longest Ride” centers on two sets of lovers in two intertwining stories. The first story is told through flashbacks of a 90-year-old veteran’s life and the love he has for his departed wife. The second story follows a student who falls in love with a similarly-wounded bull rider.

Casting directors are looking for Caucasian actors to play waiters in an upcoming 1940’s flashback scene. Actors must attend a fitting on Monday, June 23rd.

Drumline sequel, Drumline 2 (Drumline: A New Beat) is seeking extras for a scene filming in Atlanta.

VH1 has given a green light to Drumline: A New Beat. It will be the next original movie to follow the widely popular TLC Biopic that was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.

Nick Cannon is expected to make a return, reprising his role as well as executive producing.

Drumline 2, will focus on a female lead — Dani Bolton from Brooklyn — and her decision to defy her parents, go to school in New Orleans and bring a once-prominent drumline back to life.

Martin Scorsese’s ‘Untitled Rock N’ Roll’ Casting Call for in New York City

The untitled drama explores the drugs and sex of the 1970′s New York music business as disco and punk music were on the rise.

According to Variety, the show will be depicted through the eyes of Cannavale’s Richie Finestra, a record exec trying to build a record label and find the next new sound.

Olivia Wilde is set to play Devon Finestra, Richie’s wife and former actress/model who attempts to deal with the Richie’s crisis as it causes strain on their family and relationship.

Casting directors are looking for men and women to work on an upcoming scene in the HBO Pilot. Casting directors are looking for “glam/rock” types with colored hair. Think platinum blonde, or hot pink.
