‘John Wick 2’ is now filming in New York City.
Production for the upcoming Keanu Reeves thriller is now underway in Brookyln, New York City, according to Movieweb.com.
On Tuesday, it was reported that Lionsgate sequel to John Wick 2 brought in a new actor, with Common signing on, and original John Wick leading man Ian McShane reprising his role as Winston.
The report also revealed production was about to start this week, and it turns out that filming is now underway in NYC.
Details as to how long the shoot is expected to last have not been revealed but, filming will take place in Brookyln, New York. Which makes sense, since the first John Wick also filmed in Brooklyn, including the Brooklyn Park Bridge and the world famous Haru Sushi restaurant.
Keanu Reeves is set to reprise his leading role as John Wick, with Common set to play the primary villain, the head of security for a female crime syndicate. John Wick 2 may also bring back Lance Reddick, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Jason Isaacs and Alfie Allen.
Lionsgate has not officially announced a release date for John Wick 2 yet, but it may be ready for a late 2016 release depending on how long production will take.

Chad Stahelski, who directed the original John Wick, is returning to direct John Wick 2, although he will be directing a solo feature film.
Previously, Stahelski teamed up with David Leitch in the first John Wick movie. Both filmmakers had planned to film the sequel as a duo, but the two filmmakers decided to take a break and split up.
John Wick centered around a retired assassin who returns back to work after a hitmen kill his dog, the last gift from his dead wife. John Wick earned nearly $80 million worldwide off of a $20 million budget.
