The Production Assistant is responsible for editing and publishing video and building graphics for multiple CBS Sports Digital properties.The PA also assists producers and senior producers with the program development, creative and editorial direction of CBS Sports Digital. We bring our passion for sports and love of our work, serving up sports content to fans everywhere, and this role will help us succeed in that mission.

Your-Day-to-Day:

● Build & fire live studio graphics with Ross XPression

● Capture and assemble clips using non-linear editing systems – Adobe Premier and other software.

● Edit content in a digital environment or digital broadcast facility for distribution for various digital media platforms.

● Prepare highlights and one-plays for distribution across multiple digital platforms.

● Screens content for use on all digital platforms, non-linear editing and encoding.

● Assist in developing innovative content for CBS Sports Digital platforms

Qualifications:

What you bring to the team:

You have –

● Undergraduate degree in Communications with an emphasis on Digital Media production preferred

● Minimum 1 year of experience in related field (strong internships will be considered)

● Knowledge of the fundamental concepts of editing and encoding of online content

● Strong understanding of the mobile web and internet

● A strong knowledge of major and minor sports is preferred

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Skilled photojournalist and creative coach to lead our team of photographers at Minnesota’s Most Watched station.
  • Be the expert on visually appealing and meaningful shooting as well as dynamic audio and lighting.
  • Work with managers, assignment desk, producers and reporters to successfully enterprise stories as well as cover weather, breaking and general news across our TV and digital platforms.
  • Set the bar for outstanding visual, expressive storytelling and dynamic live shots — train and mentor the photographers and MMJ’s who fall short on goals.
  • Offer nonstop feedback to photographers and editors; including one-on-one story critiques.
  • Assist in logistics and planning for remote events and stations events.
  • Uphold journalistic, ethical and professional standards consistent with company policies & values.
  • Manage scheduling and time sheets for the photographers/editors.
  • Collaborate with the News Operations Manager on equipment purchases, fleet management and repairs.
  • Run and maintain live equipment (microwave, satellite trucks and Dejero/Live-U backpacks).
  • Other duties as assigned by the News Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Operating proficiency of Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P-2 or similar ENG Systems as well as drones, non-linear editing on FCP X, Avid or a similar system,
  • Must be physically able to carry, shoulder and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25 lbs. or more),as well as carry support equipment (i.e., tripod, lights, etc.).Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and thrive under pressure, attacking deadlines and decisions calmly & swiftly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse staff
  • Available to work any shift required in a 24/7 newsroom including weekends & evenings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field
  • 5+ years in a medium or large market

Overview

CBS Sports Digital is looking for a Streaming Digital Line Producer/ Master Control Operator to work on the live stream with the control room team managing, optimizing and timing live and on demand video content for mobile, desktop and OTT (Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire) platforms.

Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • Adept in building a rundown in the latest cloud technologies
  • Anticipate the needs of the stream with regard to video, graphics, scripts and other elements
  • Coordinate with master control to break into live content during breaking news with a banner to simulcast an affiliate or alternate station
  • Close coordination with the senior and broadcast producers during live programs
  • Writing headlines to maximize SEP and shareability
  • Works closely with CBS Sports Digital team to create compelling content for customers on CBS Sports Digital Platforms

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of work experience helping to create and build show rundowns in cable, broadcast or digital environment

Additional Qualifications

  • Must feel comfortable in a fast-paced control room environment
  • Work under extremely tight deadlines to write headlines and edit video for live digital broadcast
  • Experience building and creating show rundowns
  • Familiar with Adobe Premiere & Inception
  • Highly motivated and self-driven, capable of working with little instruction to address demanding tasks
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadlines, including breaking news (the schedule will rotate, but must be able to work all shifts, including early mornings, weekends, overnights, and holidays)
  • Ability to thrive in a paste-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with ITX is a plus
  • Intermediate knowledge of general computer hardware and software

The CBS News podcast team is seeking a highly organized, part-time Podcast Operations Assistant to support operational, marketing, and production needs across our shows. This role helps support the end-to-end production, distribution, and promotion of CBS podcasts, working closely with producers, marketers, and internal and external partners to ensure assets are delivered accurately, on time, and to spec.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of podcast gear and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation across production and marketing.
  • Maintain inventory of podcast equipment and shared resources.
  • Train producers on the hosting platform (Megaphone) and related workflows.
  • Help maintain the CBS podcast programming calendar.
  • Support team coordination, meeting prep, and other operational tasks.
  • Provide general assistance to improve team efficiency and workflow.

Marketing

  • Maintain an inventory of core brand resources (key art, promotional assets, style guides).
  • Deliver promotional assets to press, partners, and collaborators.
  • Traffic audio promo campaigns to ensure proper placement and scheduling.
  • Build and manage trackable links, pixels, and conversion events to measure engagement and creative efficacy.
  • Produce select promotional assets and copy for digital marketing channels (social, YouTube, web).
  • Design pre- and post-campaign performance reports and slide decks that summarize results and insights.
  • Research industry trends and partnership/development opportunities.

Production

  • Schedule and set up remote and in-person recordings.
  • QC and upload episodes, place ad breaks, and ensure metadata accuracy.
  • Manage and organize audio files for fast, reliable access.
  • Ensure timely delivery and on-site setup of materials for hosts and guests.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior experience in podcast production, marketing, or media operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with podcasting tools (Megaphone, Riverside, etc.) and audio editing software like ProTools and/or Audition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
