Job Description

Skycam is looking for a reliable Utility crew member to provide technical production support for the Baltimore @ Minnesota broadcast. This role focuses on preparing and maintaining the Skycam system throughout the event, including equipment setup, cable monitoring, and strike. Candidates should enjoy hands-on production work and be comfortable performing physical tasks in a live stadium environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Support the technical operations team during setup, game-day production, and strike

• Unload and load broadcast cases, cables, and other production equipment

• Monitor Skycam cables and reels to help prevent tangles during operation

• Assist with carrying, positioning, and organizing technical equipment

• Help maintain safe and efficient cable management throughout the broadcast

• Follow technical crew instructions and established on-site safety procedures

Requirements

• Comfortable performing physical tasks associated with live broadcast production

• Ability to assist with equipment unloading, setup, and post-event strike

• Must be comfortable working at heights, including climbing and navigating catwalks

• Capable of lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

• Must remain attentive while working around moving cables and technical equipment

• Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to collaborate effectively with a technical production crew

Runner III

Job Description

ESPN is looking for an experienced Runner III to support the Buffalo @ Minnesota live broadcast. The production runner will serve as a key on-site resource, helping the operations team manage errands, crew communication, announcer logistics, and other time-sensitive production needs. Candidates should bring proven live remote production experience and the ability to remain organized as priorities shift throughout the event.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist operations and production personnel with on-site broadcast needs

• Run production errands and deliver information or materials to appropriate crew members

• Coordinate and assist with announcer arrivals and departures

• Handle assigned show-related tasks efficiently and professionally

• Stay available and responsive to changing production priorities

• Communicate clearly with operations staff and other crew members

• Support the overall workflow of the live sports broadcast

Requirements

• Must live within 100 miles of the event site

• Must be at least 21 years old and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license

• Minimum of 10 shows worked as a regional-level runner in live remote productions

• Reliable access to communication via phone, text, and email

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment

• Must be proactive, dependable, flexible, and comfortable taking direction

• Familiarity with the venue and surrounding area is preferred

• Experience leading or coordinating other runners is preferred

• Basic understanding of broadcast production operations

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Skilled photojournalist and creative coach to lead our team of photographers at Minnesota’s Most Watched station.
• Be the expert on visually appealing and meaningful shooting as well as dynamic audio and lighting.
• Work with managers, assignment desk, producers and reporters to successfully enterprise stories as well as cover weather, breaking and general news across our TV and digital platforms.
• Set the bar for outstanding visual, expressive storytelling and dynamic live shots — train and mentor the photographers and MMJ’s who fall short on goals.
• Offer nonstop feedback to photographers and editors; including one-on-one story critiques.
• Assist in logistics and planning for remote events and stations events.
• Uphold journalistic, ethical and professional standards consistent with company policies & values.
• Manage scheduling and time sheets for the photographers/editors.
• Collaborate with the News Operations Manager on equipment purchases, fleet management and repairs.
• Run and maintain live equipment (microwave, satellite trucks and Dejero/Live-U backpacks).
• Other duties as assigned by the News Director.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Operating proficiency of Sony XDCAM, Panasonic P-2 or similar ENG Systems as well as drones, non-linear editing on FCP X, Avid or a similar system,
• Must be physically able to carry, shoulder and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25 lbs. or more),as well as carry support equipment (i.e., tripod, lights, etc.).Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and thrive under pressure, attacking deadlines and decisions calmly & swiftly.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a diverse staff
• Available to work any shift required in a 24/7 newsroom including weekends & evenings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field
• 5+ years in a medium or large market

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies.
