Job Detail: We are seeking a dynamic and culturally sensitive Program Manager to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be an integral part of executing our mission to provide inclusive and affirming spaces for Two-Spirit people.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the annual Two-Spirit Powwow and all related events, ensuring they reflect our community’s vibrancy and diversity.
- Collaborate closely with the Executive Director to align with the organization’s vision and objectives.
- Initiate and guide the 2S Powwow Committee, fostering a team that is reflective and inclusive of Two-Spirit voices.
- Provide consistent administrative support and oversee the logistical aspects of our events, particularly the flagship February 2S Powwow.
- Design and implement engaging, year-round programming that promotes cultural awareness and community wellness.
- Champion the “Living in Abundance Initiative,” driving projects that enrich the lives of Two-Spirit individuals and allies.
- Serve as a liaison, orchestrating efforts between the organization and various community groups.
- Develop efficient record-keeping procedures and maintain a robust online presence, including social media engagement.
- Undertake various job-related duties, ensuring the smooth operation of our non-profit organization.
Requirements:
- A deep understanding and appreciation for Native and LGBTQ2SIA+ cultures.
- A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not mandatory. What’s crucial is your experience and passion for community work.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in program management, with a track record of successful event coordination.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and leading diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills are non-negotiable.
- You’re a team player committed to fostering a cooperative work environment.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Mailchimp, and other project management tools is expected. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies is also needed.
- Experience in supervising and training volunteers, with an ability to delegate and manage work schedules effectively.
- Data analysis and reporting capabilities to track program success and areas for improvement.
- Knowledge of contract and grant writing is an added advantage, enabling the organization to secure funding and partnerships.
