Position Summary:

The Production Artist position is integrated within the TCM creative team and focus on the production of various print and digital assets as well as creating and revising collaterals to support the design team. Create files/projects within established processes, in a cost-effective, and timely manner while maintaining consistent company brand and identity style guidelines. Currently this is a remote position, however this may become a hybrid work schedule position and therefore candidates must be local to Huntington Beach, California OR Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create print and digital assets of various formats for marketing distribution
  • Track and facilitate backlist reprints by making necessary changes, preflight files for print and/or digital output
  • Provide production support on books, educational materials, corporate print/digital materials, website, catalogs, mock-ups, white papers within corporate style guidelines
  • Perform color correction and image manipulation of photos and illustrations in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign as needed
  • Create post-pub assets by maintaining complete, organized, and accessible electronic archives of projects, including packaged files with all fonts and artwork. Ensure all files are organized clearly and most up-to-date files are stored properly
  • Produce technically correct, print-ready files for printers
  • Collaborate with graphic designers to create supporting materials on products
  • Ensure that brand and quality standards are consistently achieved
  • Work with designers to troubleshoot production-related printing problems or issues
  • Execute production of creative and graphic concepts from design team
  • Interacts regularly with designers for completion of assigned projects
  • Ensure all creative deliverables are produced on time

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Formal graphic design training with Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in print and digital design production
  • Proficient in current Adobe CS applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat)
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and prioritize workload within a fast-paced environment
  • Love for the technical side of design
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to build strong, technically tight files for print and digital output
  • Ability to set up and organize clean template files that can be adapted to many uses and streamline the production process
  • Proficient knowledge of CMYK, RGB, prepress and printing standards
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn existing and new workflows
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in artwork development and production processes

Physical Requirements:

  • Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computer
  • Repetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse

Work Conditions:

  • General office environment.
