Job Description

The production team for the short film Arabella is casting actors and dancers for multiple roles filming January 8–10 in Savannah, Georgia. The production is particularly interested in performers with dance backgrounds, although actors of all experience levels are encouraged to submit. Several roles require performers to learn and execute up to five minutes of waltz choreography with a partner. This is a Savannah-area local hire production. Union and non-union performers are being accepted.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform an assigned character in the short film Arabella
• Attend rehearsals, callbacks, and filming as required
• Learn and perform waltz choreography for applicable roles
• Follow direction from the filmmaking and choreography teams
• Participate in masked and/or staged violent scenes when required by the role
• Maintain professional conduct throughout production

Requirements

• Arabella: Female, ages 20–25, any ethnicity; must perform up to five minutes of partnered waltz choreography and be comfortable wearing a mask and participating in scenes of violence; pay negotiable
• Father: Male, ages 45–50, any ethnicity; cordial, commanding, organized and observant character with a gentle and nurturing side; pay negotiable
• Charles: Male, ages 20–25, any ethnicity; confident character who must perform partnered waltz choreography and be comfortable participating in scenes of violence; non-speaking role
• The Strangers: Four male dancers, any demographic; must perform partnered waltz choreography and be comfortable wearing masks; non-speaking roles
• The Bird People: Three female dancers and one male dancer, any demographic; must perform partnered waltz choreography and be comfortable wearing masks; non-speaking roles
• Arabella’s Mother: Female, ages 40–50, any ethnicity; character’s face will not be shown; non-speaking role
• Housing and transportation are not provided
• All experience levels may submit
• Union and non-union performers accepted

Compensation

Unpaid unless otherwise noted. Pay is negotiable for the Arabella and Father roles.

Male Casting Call for Feature Film Dad Role

Job Description:
A major feature film, The Comeback King starring Glen Powell and produced by Judd Apatow, is now casting a male actor to portray a dad character. This is a great opportunity to work on a high-profile production with an experienced creative team. Casting is open to talent of all ethnicities who can authentically embody a father figure in a scripted role.
