Casting Call for Boom Operator / Sound Mixer
Job Description
A short film production titled “Cold Dinner” is seeking an experienced Boom Operator or Sound Mixer to join the crew. This is a dialogue-heavy short film requiring strong on-set audio capture and technical expertise. The ideal candidate will have experience working in film production environments and can help ensure high-quality sound recording throughout the shoot.
Job Responsibilities
- Operate boom microphone and/or manage on-set sound mixing
- Capture clear and consistent audio for a dialogue-heavy production
- Collaborate with the director and crew to maintain sound quality
- Set up and manage audio equipment during filming
- Troubleshoot any sound-related issues on set
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Boom Operator or Sound Mixer
- Strong understanding of on-set audio recording techniques
- Ability to work long production hours (8–10 hours)
- Own equipment preferred
- Team-oriented with good communication skills
