About the Role
As Brixity Art Director at Devsisters you will be the visual gatekeeper for our newest building simulation game, Brixity. You will direct how the visual should look in all places aside from the gameplay, making sure it connects and elevates the gameplay experience. You will understand and communicate the needs of your artists to leadership, as well as build meaningful external relationships through collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Creative Director and external stakeholders to define the visual style for the game, and oversee its implementation on a daily basis
- Create 2D/3D concept art as guidelines for all marketing material
- Create marketing style guides and visual guidelines for different marketing platforms
- Create a productive and scalable production pipeline to support all the needs of Brixity
- Brainstorm new creative ideas on how to bring in new user into the game and engage with our brixmasters
- Lead and improve art team rituals to support high quality craft and individual growth
- Create functional, in-engine working examples of the art style, to define best practices and the production pipeline for the game
Who You Are
- 5+ years experience in a creative role at a video game company, advertising agency or related field
- Direct production experience with at least one of the following areas: concept development, 2D/3D animation, storyboarding, character animation, UI or motion graphics
- You are an excellent visual storyteller with great communication skills (both written and verbal)
- You are passionate about character and game world development
- You have a deep understanding of graphic design and typography
- You are able to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
- You are an avid gamer with deep knowledge of the mobile or console gaming industry
Requirements
- A strong portfolio of previous work and completed projects (to demonstrate you have successfully shipped at least two titles and were closely involved in production and marketing)
- Experience working with 3D and 2D art assets in video and still formats
- Expert knowledge of Adobe CC Suite, such as After FX, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator or related softwares

Please be aware that benefits are subject to change.
For this full-time position in San Mateo, CA, the base salary range is $102,390 – $120,000. This range is specific to the onsite/hybrid role in the Bay Area and does not apply to locations outside of the region. Our salary structure considers various factors such as role, level, location, and individual skills, experience, and education. In addition to competitive base pay, you may also be eligible for stock options and incentive compensation, although this is not guaranteed.
This position is for our San Mateo, hybrid location.
