About the Role

As Brixity Art Director at Devsisters you will be the visual gatekeeper for our newest building simulation game, Brixity. You will direct how the visual should look in all places aside from the gameplay, making sure it connects and elevates the gameplay experience. You will understand and communicate the needs of your artists to leadership, as well as build meaningful external relationships through collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Creative Director and external stakeholders to define the visual style for the game, and oversee its implementation on a daily basis
  • Create 2D/3D concept art as guidelines for all marketing material
  • Create marketing style guides and visual guidelines for different marketing platforms
  • Create a productive and scalable production pipeline to support all the needs of Brixity
  • Brainstorm new creative ideas on how to bring in new user into the game and engage with our brixmasters
  • Lead and improve art team rituals to support high quality craft and individual growth
  • Create functional, in-engine working examples of the art style, to define best practices and the production pipeline for the game

Who You Are

  • 5+ years experience in a creative role at a video game company, advertising agency or related field
  • Direct production experience with at least one of the following areas: concept development, 2D/3D animation, storyboarding, character animation, UI or motion graphics
  • You are an excellent visual storyteller with great communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • You are passionate about character and game world development
  • You have a deep understanding of graphic design and typography
  • You are able to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
  • You are an avid gamer with deep knowledge of the mobile or console gaming industry

Requirements

  • A strong portfolio of previous work and completed projects (to demonstrate you have successfully shipped at least two titles and were closely involved in production and marketing)
  • Experience working with 3D and 2D art assets in video and still formats
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CC Suite, such as After FX, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator or related softwares

For this full-time position in San Mateo, CA, the base salary range is $102,390 – $120,000. This range is specific to the onsite/hybrid role in the Bay Area and does not apply to locations outside of the region. Our salary structure considers various factors such as role, level, location, and individual skills, experience, and education. In addition to competitive base pay, you may also be eligible for stock options and incentive compensation, although this is not guaranteed.

This position is for our San Mateo, hybrid location.

Summary

The Licensing Manager will report to the VP, Business Development and be responsible for growing IP revenue streams across the Cookie Run Universe. You will lead licensing efforts across a broad number of categories, including apparel, toys, fashion, and food and beverage. By working closely with licensing agents and licensees, you will grow our consumer product and retail statement while also staying true to the DNA of the brand. Additionally, you will explore and execute critical partnership opportunities with companies that share similar values, in an effort to increase brand awareness and affinity of the Cookie Run Universe.

This is a high impact role that works across numerous internal and external cross functional teams. This is an incredibly exciting opportunity to leverage a successful entertainment franchise to grow burgeoning business streams. Even though Devsisters is a successful international company, we still have the fighting spirit of an entrepreneurial startup and want you to come with that spirit as well. This role supports English speaking regions and Latin America and operates out of Devsisters U.S.A.’s San Mateo office.

Responsibilities

  • Category Management and Strategy: Partner with VP, Business Development to refine the licensing strategy and generate product opportunities that meet the needs of our core consumers while also filling gaps by territories, demographics, and distribution channels.
  • Licensee Contact: Operate as key contact for designated Cookie Run licensees as related to day-to-day business. Assist licensees with business needs including brand on-boarding, database training and implementation, forms processing, data gathering and reporting, etc.
  • Product Approvals: Review approvals and serve as the liaison between licensees and Devsisters creative teams. Check submissions against approved line plans, ensuring products are high quality and designed to achieve category goals and sales.
  • Sales & Marketing: Generate new business AND fuel brand affinity by reaching out to new potential licensees and partners. Work closely with our marketing team to ensure programs are being amplified.
  • Reporting: Partner with legal and finance to ensure that quarterly reports are received from licensees and that all requested information is being provided.
  • Legal: Manage contract processing and tracking through the entire pipeline. Facilitate generation, processing and delivery of required legal forms including manufacturer’s agreements and customs letters.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA is a plus
  • You have 5+ years of experience in gaming, licensing, consumer products and or entertainment.
  • You are highly collaborative, entrepreneurial, and possess (or can possess) a passion for our Cookie Run Universe.
  • You have the ability to think critically and strategically, problem solve, lead with integrity, motivate, and make decisions appropriately.
  • You have a strong drive to succeed in ambiguous situations. You are a natural leader and salesperson and seek out answers and solutions.
  • You possess the courage to make connections and reach out to people that may not be in your current network.
  • You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • You are organized, detail oriented, with the ability to consistently manage time and expectations of yourself.

You will tap into your imaginative mindset to collaborate with our social team in creating engaging, funny, and relatable short-form videos that elevates our game content and resonates with current fans across all social platforms.

What You’ll Work On

Our goal is to get our game content everywhere all at once. We need someone who has an impeccable social media instinct, is consistently in-the-know of internet trends, and has an understanding of social platform algorithms. The ideal candidate will all be able to conceptualize content that would be well received and be appropriate for all audiences.

Projects include and are not limited to:

  • Youtube Shorts
  • Twitter/Facebook/Instagram Videos
  • Tiktoks / IG Reels + stories

Responsibilities

  • Work with the creative and social teams to design and oversee videos from start to finish – beginning with initial concept to final video deliverables
  • Apply creative cohesiveness while directing and editing video content
  • Work closely with the social content team, creatives, and various stakeholders on multiple projects concurrently and manage varying deadlines and tight localization schedules
  • Maintain consistent creative quality in deliverables in line with our brand
  • Work with international teams to align on content
  • Collaborate with Community, Social Media, and Marketing to create video drop schedule

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in producing short-form content for social media
  • A person of the internet with an understanding of social personas and PC representations (Gen Z, Millennials, etc)
  • A love of visual storytelling
  • Capturing and sourcing additional images, in-game video, and assets as needed
  • Strong understanding as to what captures the users attention and keeps them engaged
  • Must have a website/portfolio that exhibits professional work experience and an understanding of video design in the social media space
  • Fluent in using all social media platforms (Tiktok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Video editing skills with an understanding of motion graphics
  • Proficient in video editing software like iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and/or Adobe Premiere Pro CC
  • Understanding of different media formats and requirements for each type of social platform
  • Outstanding design skills with the ability to guide, evaluate, and if necessary, redirect creative development
  • Knowledgeable in gaming
