Position Overview:

The Creative Studio Director leads AMG’s Studio Department by always striving to upgrade the creative product and helping to manage the many client programs. This position works to provide executional excellence with their team and is always future thinking about how to optimize the process.

Highlighted Responsibilities:

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Directing the creative function so that the environment, culture, team, capabilities, tools, processes, expectations, work style and other elements support the strategic goals and brand of the agency.
  • Helping to identify growth opportunities outside existing services
  • Set expectations and standards (build a culture) for Studio Team attitude, behavior, teamwork and professional development. Lead accordingly – conduct staff reviews, taking corrective actions and recommending promotions.
  • Building and maintaining working relationships with key clients.
  • Staying on top of industry, competitors, creative and managerial trends so that the department is continually prepared to compete and win in the marketplace.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of all agency clients.
  • Deliver shopper marketing solutions that help our clients attain their sales promotion objectives.

Tactical Responsibilities

  • Manage programs from concept to completion – art direction, design, and copywriting
  • Designing and revising AMG sales materials as required
  • Work with the account leads to ensure that client projects are on time and client expectations are met.
  • Set expectations and standards for Studio Team attitude, behavior, teamwork, and professional development. Lead accordingly – conduct staff reviews, taking corrective actions and recommending promotions.
  • In concert with CSM, direct departmental activities, including allocating work, distributing project assignments among team members to play to team strengths, planning and providing day-to-day guidance/mentorship.
  • Leading, developing, managing, and nurturing all studio staff and instill a passion for collaboration, trust, and teamwork
  • Presenting and selling creative to clients.
  • Ensuring the creative function operates in an efficient, profitable manner.
  • Identifies outside resources, copywriters, photographers, web coders, technicians, and freelancers, and manages the resulting agency relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design or equally relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a Creative Studio Director, managing staff
  • 10+ years as a professional graphic designer
  • Print production experience is required- understanding of CMYK/spot color, special effects, substrates, and packaging of deliverables to varying specs
  • Must possess experience working on a MAC platform and be at an expert level with Adobe CC apps and Microsoft Office
  • Practical experience with marketing design concepts, brand standards
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and complete projects on time and trouble-free
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Beverage Alcohol marketing experience desired but not required
  • Portfolio is required, candidates without a portfolio will be rejected

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Videographer/Editor position requires skills in a high-volume production environment specializing in the final storytelling of a project. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the filming and editing process for company video projects.  This position requires a diverse knowledge of industry standard types of cameras and production equipment along with basic Avid editing skills.  They will work closely with the Producers, Videographers and Editors on staff to ensure projects are completed on time and with the highest technical and aesthetic standards. They are responsible for maintaining the company’s production assets and working with the department production calendar so that equipment is ready for each project.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support production staff with variety of projects using production gear including various models of cameras, lenses, tripods, and other gear related to shooting.
  • Work with Production team to build sets for production needs.
  • Assist with general duties.
  • Maintaining production equipment before and after projects.
  • Coordinate the tracking of all production assets.
  • Assist with research and ordering of equipment.
  • Support with reporting and tracking maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
  • Ingest media into company’s archiving system and prepare media for Editors.
  • Log footage and edit basic to intermediate level projects.
  • Operate additional cameras as needed for production needs including live events.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Minimum college or trade school experience in production or similar field..
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience working in multiple aspects of film and video production.
  • Color grading at intermediate level.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Thorough understanding of fishing, hunting, and other outdoor skills as required to best work with production team in outdoor recreation company.
  • Strong work ethic. Outgoing personality with ability to interact within group of creative individuals in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Willingness to react with short notice to changes in daily routine.
  • Willing to travel as required – often locations require extensive driving and multiple night stays with early and late hours.
  • Strong communication skills – able to understand direction and make themselves understood when communicating objectives for accomplishing story lines or goals of a production.
  • Thorough knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems, specifically the Avid Media Composer or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of various codecs, containers and file types used in today’s media environment.
  • Able to work within a team environment including in the field or studio and in the post process, editing and finishing.
  • Able to lift and carry heavy equipment in variety of terrain and conditions from very hot to very cold.
  • Good driving record, able to secure Missouri Operator’s License Class E.
  • Good organizational skills: able to keep multiple projects balanced at any one time
  • Strong video resume required.  This resume should demonstrate samples from all of the areas mentioned above.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 25-30%

  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.
  • Occasionally walks and stands.
  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.
