The Role
This role reports ON-SITE at our West Hollywood Office.
Moonbug is seeking a full time Music Producer to support the Music Department of the successful CoComelon franchise. This role is based in our West Hollywood office in the heart of California. At Moonbug, you will be working with some of the biggest brands in family entertainment; one of the fastest-growing genres in music.
The successful candidate will have a high proficiency in music composition and music production, arranging, orchestration, and writing music briefs for composers to work from. You will need to be organized, detail orientated, and be ready to adapt to new challenges.
We would like to see someone who has been working as a composer in the film/television/animation capacity over the past 3 to 5 years. They should be comfortable working within various music genres, singing vocal guides for our talent, translating notes into musical terminology, and have strong project management skills.
Reporting to the Music Director, you will be helping expand the CoComelon music catalog across various media streams. You will be responsible for creating and producing original songs and nursery rhymes as well as developing and expanding the CoComelon soundscape.

Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the MD, collaborate and follow strategies and processes to maintain and implement across all audio pipelines.
- Maintain a clear line of communication with the music production team to ensure the flow of assets is seamless.
- Drive and oversee the process of making music albums/tracks all the way from creative inception to final master stage.
- Collaborate with relevant IP production coordinator to align on contract requests, purchase orders and metadata.
- Liaise with the team of composers, engineers and lyricists to provide clear feedback (and QC when relevant) during the skeleton, instrumentation, and mixing stages of a composition and then relay to the MD.
- Show high proficiency in the relevant DAW to edit, arrange, compose and make changes to songs and compositions as and when required.
- Record/sequence MIDI tracks on Cubase, keeping track of your progress daily
- Write and develop musical briefs, determine the musical direction of episodes and/or albums, style and instrumentation.
- As and when needed Develop music style bibles for use both internally and externally.
- Execute creative requests from the musical director and assign roles in the Team (Internal or external) to meet specific briefs.
- Coordinate with MD, Label team and production to ensure that album data points are being met and discuss any production issues.
- Under the direction of the MD, maintain regular progress meetings with Creative and Music Production teams. Take the lead on studio-wide meetings as appropriate.
- Direct vocal recording sessions as and when needed or reassign to junior members of staff.
- Ability to write and amend song lyrics and instrumentation as needed.
- Ability to create original songs.
- Under the direction of the MD, collaborate on developing sound and music styles for new strands of content.
- Ensure albums are on schedule and on budget.
- Provide feedback on new talent (singers or composers) as requested.
- Network of lyricists, composers, singers as well as mixing and mastering engineers.
- Ability to take and implement feedback from MD / Creative exes.
- Manage external assistant producers as and when.
- Maintain flexibility and openness to take on additional projects as necessary.
- Work with the animation department in coordinating audio/music needs, making sure everything synchronizes together.
- QC vocal selects, audio recordings, and SFX that everything works cohesively with music in final versions of videos.
- Fine tune and give notes on arrangements, mixes, and final audio deliverables
- Finding freelancers: singers, composers and lyricists.
- Revising and recording musical skeletons and vocal guides to be sent to creative execs, wider teams and/or singers.
Essential Requirements
- Proven track record in music production.
- Strong understanding of music production from conception to completion (premises, briefs, budgets, deadlines etc).
- Experience in Cubase and Logic Pro
- 3-5 years of working within a creative/media environment – essential.
- Competent user of Google Suite.
- General knowledge of music including composition/arrangement.
- Understanding of Children’s music
- Good knowledge of music theory
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to foster and maintain great working relationships with internal and external teams.
- Ability to time manage across multiple deadlines
- Ability to sing.
- Knowledge of production pipelines including animation and video editing
- Ability to score to visuals
- Experience with vocal tuning, vocal editing, and mixing

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Videographer/Editor position requires skills in a high-volume production environment specializing in the final storytelling of a project. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the filming and editing process for company video projects. This position requires a diverse knowledge of industry standard types of cameras and production equipment along with basic Avid editing skills. They will work closely with the Producers, Videographers and Editors on staff to ensure projects are completed on time and with the highest technical and aesthetic standards. - Operate additional cameras as needed for production needs including live events.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Minimum college or trade school experience in production or similar field..
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience working in multiple aspects of film and video production.
- Color grading at intermediate level.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Thorough understanding of fishing, hunting, and other outdoor skills as required to best work with production team in outdoor recreation company.
- Strong work ethic. Outgoing personality with ability to interact within group of creative individuals in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Willingness to react with short notice to changes in daily routine.
- Willing to travel as required – often locations require extensive driving and multiple night stays with early and late hours.
- Strong communication skills – able to understand direction and make themselves understood when communicating objectives for accomplishing story lines or goals of a production.
- Thorough knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems, specifically the Avid Media Composer or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of various codecs, containers and file types used in today’s media environment.
- Able to work within a team environment including in the field or studio and in the post process, editing and finishing.
- Able to lift and carry heavy equipment in variety of terrain and conditions from very hot to very cold.
- Good driving record, able to secure Missouri Operator’s License Class E.
- Good organizational skills: able to keep multiple projects balanced at any one time
- Strong video resume required. This resume should demonstrate samples from all of the areas mentioned above.
