VIDEO PRODUCER
RALLY seeks a video producer who can shoot, edit, and animate videos for issue advocacy, social change, and political campaigns. RALLY currently produces TV, digital, and issue-related content with a small in-house team, as well as with partner production houses. The new video producer will expand our in-house video capabilities – coordinating with our current video producer, design team, project managers, and external vendors. The video producer should be comfortable throughout the creative process – from writing scripts and planning shot lists, to capturing video and interviewing subjects in the field, to making edits and applying client feedback. The video producer must have good organizational and communications skills as they relate to video workflow – they will be asked to work with diverse teams both within Rally and outside it, as well as track budgets, communicate with clients, and file deliverables on deadline. We are open to candidates with various skill sets and would love to see prior video projects showing individual style and creative flair.
Responsibilities
- Creating videos from start to finish – capturing video, editing footage, developing graphics, and delivering visually compelling projects
- Contributing to creative ideation for video projects
- Guiding clients and RALLY teams through the creative process, helping them develop video ideas in line with clients’ communications goals
- Writing impactful, visually compelling, and on-message scripts
- Handling video file management, sharing, and delivery
- Coordinating with RALLY colleagues, design and digital team members, and clients
- Managing project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Helping lead RALLY’s approach to video processes and platforms
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
- A strong portfolio of video projects
- 2+ years’ experience of nonlinear video editing, preferably in Adobe Premiere Pro
- Audio capturing and editing experience, preferably in Adobe Audition
- Title and motion graphics capabilities, preferably in Adobe After Effects
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in written format, with varying levels of company staff, clients, media, and vendors
- Strong computer literacy, e.g. in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, Google Suite)
- Ability to manage project workflow, juggle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
- Interest in the progressive issue advocacy space
- Experience using social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Innovative and solutions-oriented – demonstrated resourcefulness, optimism, and flexibility in approach to project assignments
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Intellectual curiosity and sense of humor
- Team player with the ability to step into leadership roles
Preferred skills would include:
- Videography
- Intermediate or advanced After Effects
- Non-English language skills

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Videographer/Editor position requires skills in a high-volume production environment specializing in the final storytelling of a project. This position is primarily responsible for assisting in the filming and editing process for company video projects. This position requires a diverse knowledge of industry standard types of cameras and production equipment along with basic Avid editing skills. They will work closely with the Producers, Videographers and Editors on staff to ensure projects are completed on time and with the highest technical and aesthetic standards. They are responsible for maintaining the company’s production assets and working with the department production calendar so that equipment is ready for each project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support production staff with variety of projects using production gear including various models of cameras, lenses, tripods, and other gear related to shooting.
- Work with Production team to build sets for production needs.
- Assist with general duties.
- Maintaining production equipment before and after projects.
- Coordinate the tracking of all production assets.
- Assist with research and ordering of equipment.
- Support with reporting and tracking maintenance and repairs of production equipment.
- Ingest media into company’s archiving system and prepare media for Editors.
- Log footage and edit basic to intermediate level projects.
- Operate additional cameras as needed for production needs including live events.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Minimum college or trade school experience in production or similar field..
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience working in multiple aspects of film and video production.
- Color grading at intermediate level.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Thorough understanding of fishing, hunting, and other outdoor skills as required to best work with production team in outdoor recreation company.
- Strong work ethic. Outgoing personality with ability to interact within group of creative individuals in a dynamic and constantly changing environment. Willingness to react with short notice to changes in daily routine.
- Willing to travel as required – often locations require extensive driving and multiple night stays with early and late hours.
- Strong communication skills – able to understand direction and make themselves understood when communicating objectives for accomplishing story lines or goals of a production.
- Thorough knowledge of Avid non-linear editing systems, specifically the Avid Media Composer or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of various codecs, containers and file types used in today’s media environment.
- Able to work within a team environment including in the field or studio and in the post process, editing and finishing.
- Able to lift and carry heavy equipment in variety of terrain and conditions from very hot to very cold.
- Good driving record, able to secure Missouri Operator’s License Class E.
- Good organizational skills: able to keep multiple projects balanced at any one time
