The Director of Sales has direct oversight of sales operations for Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. This role has the responsibility to achieve optimal occupancy and ADR growth to maximize total revenue while meeting/exceeding hotel profit objectives. As a Director of Sales you’ll be responsible for executing sales strategies in order to maximize hotel profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction. The DOS will be a Hotel Executive Committee Member and hold those responsibilities.

Salary range: $150,000 – $175,000 base with an incentivized bonus opportunity, based off of related skills and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 6 years of progressive hotel sales experience preferred; or a 4-year college degree and at least 2 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 4 years of related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license in the applicable state.
  • Must possess highly developed verbal & written communication skills to frequently negotiate convince sell and influence other managerial personnel hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
  • Must have thorough experience with professional selling skills: opening probing supporting closing
  • Shows strong analytical skills and strategic vision in establishing appropriate sales deployment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate all group transient and catering sales solicitations and bookings to maximize overall revenue.
  • Develop recommend implement and manage the division’s annual budget and the advertising public relations marketing and sales plans and programs for the hotel to maximize rate occupancy and food & beverage opportunities thus ensuring the hotel meets/exceeds management and owner revenue/profit goals and expectations.
  • Proactively conduct outside sales calls conduct sales tours and entertain clients.
  • Understand the content reflected in contracts and how to negotiate terms therein.
  • Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies.
  • Monitor production of all top accounts and evaluate trends within your market.
  • Adheres to Aimbridge Hospitality’s established regulations company standards sales standards and sales metrics related.
  • Comply with attainment of individual goals as well as team goals and budgeted metrics.
  • Train all members of the hotel staff on how to recognize and capitalize on all sales opportunities to increase hotel occupancy and revenue.
  • With input and guidance from the GM and/or Corporate HR manage Human Resources in the division in order to attract retain and motivate the employees; hire train develop empower coach and counsel conduct performance and salary reviews resolve problems provide open communication vehicles discipline and terminate as appropriate.
  • Supervise Catering & Event Management Team (as applicable) to ensure that the Catering Food & Beverage and Meeting Room rental budgets are met or exceeded.
  • Develop a full working knowledge of the operations and policies of the hotel including Sales Food and Beverage Front Office and Reservations.
  • Maintain strong visibility in local community and industry organizations.
  • Attend and/or conduct daily/weekly/monthly meetings and any other functions required by management providing training on a rotational basis.
  • Maintains professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication relationships to achieve initiatives with respective marketing partner(s) and other internal departments (i.e. Second Wave Aimbridge Digital or Branded field marketing).
  • Travel on a weekly basis as required.
  • Act as directed on behalf of the General Manager in his/her absence; performing any other duties as requested by management.

Job Summary:

The role of the Strategic Account Manager is to source new sales opportunities and cultivate customer relationships by fielding inbound sales inquiries as well as engaging in outbound customer/prospect solicitation with strategic named accounts. The account manager is part of the AddOn Sales Team and complements and supports the sales effort of the entire team and executes sales strategies defined by Sales Management. This role is largely an inside tele sales position but may require business travel and face-to-face interaction with named account managers and their customers on an as-need basis. Well established relationships at any or all of the following resellers is a MUST for this role. Sycomp, Datec, Penguin, Trace3, Advanced Network Management, Computacenter.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all inquiries and requests received via email or phone from named account managers in the quickest possible manner. A response to a named account manager should rarely take more than 15 minutes from the time the inquiry is received, and never take more than 30 minutes except in extreme and justified situations.
  • Strive to deliver a level of service and support that is above & beyond all industry competition
  • Daily review of the distribution Open Quote Report and POS Report, creation of bid pricing, and follow up with corresponding named account managers
  • Present, promote, and sell products using solid arguments to named account managers and their customers
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Initiate & engage named account managers and their customers in face-to-face events (i.e. lunch, dinner, happy hours, other events and forms of entertainment)
  • Record all solicitation and activity in the company CRM
  • Follow the companies processes and procedures for all sales quotes and bid activity
  • Keep pipeline reporting up-to-date, detailed, and accurate
  • Hold him or herself accountable for his/her activity level as it pertains to sales engagement
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction

Responsibilities of the Marketing & Business Development Manager for The Shops at Palm Desert:

Provide Superior Client Service

  • Collaborate with the property team to develop and execute comprehensive, research-based strategic planning that directs marketing efforts to enhance asset value by actively participating in the leasing process (permanent and specialty), driving sales, and generating alternative revenue
  • Ensure the properties’ annual marketing plan is directed at achieving the owner’s objectives, focused on leasing, sales, and revenue, utilizing the resources and tools available
  • Monitor, control, and adjust, as appropriate, marketing budget and alternative revenue goals to meet year-end projections
  • Work with the Leasing and Ownership Team to ensure that leasing collateral, such as fact sheets, are current, complete, and accurate
  • Responsible for the procurement and development of programs involving outside consultants such as public relations firms, advertising agencies, and other vendors
  • Review monthly sales reports to have a thorough knowledge of retailer sales, track key retailers and category trends

  • Performs market studies to understand retail sales performance by category as well as sales performance of competitive centers

Tenant and Community Relations

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with store managers to maximize foot traffic, sales, and exposure

Communications

  • In conjunction with General Manager and senior company management, is the local center spokesperson for all public relations and directly interfaces with the media as necessary to further the objectives of the center and promote the best interests of the company

Special Events

  • Plans and works with MC to implement all center events
  • Serves as primary contact for all event operations
  • Coordinates events’ operations with MC participating departments & vendors
  • Monitors event expenses
  • Review event logistics and performance
  • Researches and recommends appropriate events for center participation and sponsorship
  • Conducts a timely post-event and/or post-promotion meeting review of event/promotion to determine viability and changes/adjustments for the following year

Digital: Website / Social Media / E-Newsletters / Digital Assets/ SMS/ Text-To-Concierge

  • Leads the strategic vision of the center’s website and designs same for optimization and friendly user interface – both customer and tenant
  • Monitors all digital (website, social, e-newsletter, SMS, text-to-concierge) analytics regularly strategically increasing results and impact to the Center
  • Collaboratively works with MC to program and implement all social media content that effectively promotes the center and its brand, retailers, and events – with a consistent voice and professional presentation consistent with a first-class shopping center

Visual Merchandising Coordination

  • Oversees and manages MC to schedule installation and de-installation of signs and merchandise in vacant storefronts as needed
  • Oversees MC orders of visual display items within budget guidelines
  • Work with MC to coordinate preparation, installation, and takedown of center seasonal décor with Engineering and Maintenance, create a calendar of tasks, and monitor budgeted expenses
  • Recommends and researches additions to and changes in seasonal décor
  • Oversees, manages, and schedules installation and takedown of seasonal décor as needed

Business Development

  • Responsible for Business Development revenue
  • Source local, regional, and national clients for advertising and sponsorship opportunities
  • Develop Business Development collateral
  • Provide custom decks and renderings to potential clients
  • Update research materials with the latest demographic information
  • Coordinate all facets of the Business Development deliverables to the advertiser/sponsor and manage the successful implementation of the various activations in the common area by closely working with MC and the center team

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, efficient administrative support to CEO, which includes high volume rolling calls, coordination of all meetings and conference calls, calendaring and schedule management, expense reports, etc.
  • Demonstrate efficiency and resourcefulness by reviewing, researching, and routing information, issues, and concerns addressed to CEO, and determine and suggest the appropriate course of action, referral or response.
  • Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of business travel (domestic and international), including trip logistics and itinerary, meeting coordination, as well as remote support;
  • Screen telephone calls, greet visitors, and respond to general inquiries
  • Draft and proof various memos, correspondence, letters, business updates and notes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively prioritize.
  • Anticipate needs and prepare CEO accordingly including gathering and creating meeting details, agendas, presentation materials, documentation, reports, and/ or recording accurate and detailed meeting notes.
  • Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is a must, including availability on evenings and weekends for administrative support as needed.
  • Ad hoc projects, personal tasks, and other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2-4 years of Executive Assistant experience; including supporting a senior executive or C-Suite leader, ideally within the entertainment industry
  • Strong interest in the corporate business and operations aspects of the industry.

  • Experience working in a very fast-paced environment and juggling multiple competing priorities

  • Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Experience working with individuals at all levels and working knowledge of industry names, players and film/television vocabulary necessary

  • Must exercise extreme confidentiality and discretion

  • Advanced computer skills, including detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Google Suite

We are looking for a Programming Coordinator for a top entertainment company in Bristol, CT. This position will be located on site in the Bristol office.

Responsibilities:

  • Works with Program Planning team to build both long and short-range program schedules in Content Scheduler or other content management system as needed for assigned international TV and digital networks
  • Maintains detailed and accurate program schedules in NCS and Content Scheduler or other content management system as needed
  • Executes and distributes program schedule changes
  • Assists Program Planners with inputting of programming standby and guidelines
  • Works with Production to confirm weekly live studio show schedules
  • Reviews weekly schedules for PR communications
  • Supports or conducts research and background reports to enhance the overall acquisition and planning efforts in a particular sports category
  • Be part of a sport specific planning team(s)

Required Qualifications:

  • Onsite Monday-Thursday (remote on Fridays)
  • Ideally looking for candidates with previous content scheduling experience
  • Candidates should be very organized and detail-oriented, with ability to prioritize
  • Basic sports knowledge is required
  • Proficiency in Spanish would be a plus as this temp will be supporting two Latin American based networks

In this role, your primary focus will be supporting the Annual Meeting (a city-wide meeting with 10k+ attendees from around the world, 16+ concurrent sessions, and special events over 5+ days) and other smaller meetings and events for the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). ARVO is the world’s largest and most respected international organization devoted to advancing research in vision and ophthalmology. The ARVO Annual Meeting is the premier gathering for eye and vision scientists at all career stages, students, and those in affiliated fields to share the latest research findings and collaborate on innovative solutions.

Reporting to the Chief Officer of Meetings and Community Engagement and working closely with the Senior Director of Programming, you will manage several core components of planning the meeting and provide operational support on-site. Your work will be cyclical, with some periods of fast-paced, high-intensity work. Working closely with the Chief Officer of Meetings and Engagement while you come up to speed, you will own the complex Ancillary Event process, manage ARVO-sponsored social events, and provide tracking, administrative, and logistical support (including speaker management) for the Annual Meeting. During off-cycle times of the year, you will manage the invited component of the meeting.

This role works across the organization and requires a great deal of accuracy, coordination, attention to detail, critical thinking, sound judgment, and the capacity to manage multiple projects efficiently to completion. How You’ll Make an Impact

You will support the team to ensure the success of the Annual Meeting and associated events by preparing timelines, maintaining the internal Teamwork project plan, updating internal staff and external partners, managing invited session proposals and speakers, and coordinating supplies and shipments. Major responsibilities include:

Annual Conference Support

  • Coordinate approvals and track the Ancillary Events (200-400 per year). Review each request, apply policies to determine handling, and create comprehensive trackers to keep the team organized and informed. Inform organizers of ARVO policies for the events and ensure compliance.
  • Organize social events for 2-3K attendees, including sourcing and recommending venues within budget, arranging entertainment, and managing catering. Work with destination marketing organizations (DMOs) or convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs).
  • Collaborate with ARVO communications staff to provide specific event-related information for print, digital, email, and social media campaigns. Update the Annual Meeting web pages.
  • Manage staff needs and travel arrangements.

Annual Conference Logistics

  • Work with the team to coordinate conference logistics, including meeting room assignments for educational programs, committee meetings, and ancillary events.
  • Oversee the supplies and shipments for the conference, ensuring all are organized and delivered correctly.

Annual Conference Program Development & Speaker Management

  • Support the Senior Director of Programming on the invited speaker content by setting up the proposal submission site, tracking the confirmed presenters and their submissions, and sending reminders.
  • Manage speaker needs/requirements (e.g., registration, housing, and travel expenses as appropriate).

Work Environment, Salary, and Benefits

  • You’ll enjoy a flexible hybrid work environment, including two days collaborating with colleagues in our Rockville, MD, office, and three days working remotely. Some domestic travel is required, including 7-10 days at the ARVO Annual Meeting.
  • The budgeted salary range for this position is $55-65K*. Qualifications

  • Experience and Education:
  • 1-3 years of experience in event/conference management and logistics coordination for large-scale events (2-10K+ attendees) at an association is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, including data collection and tracking, managing deadlines for multiple stakeholders across multiple projects, and ensuring compliance with organization regulations.
  • Professional certification, such as a certified meeting professional (CMP), is a plus but not required.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required. Familiarity with other relevant software such as Open Water, ScholarOne, ATIV (or another mobile conference app), Teamwork (or another project management system), and Optimizely (or similar CMS) is preferred but not required.
