Art Director
Job Overview:
We’re looking for a talented and experienced Art Director to join our crew and lead the charge in bringing our clients’ brands to life. As the creative powerhouse behind our projects, you’ll be responsible for conceptualizing and executing visually stunning campaigns that captivate audiences and drive results. As an integral member of our team, the Art Director will oversee a variety of projects spanning print, branding, packaging, and more. If you’ve got an eye for design, a passion for storytelling, and a knack for turning ideas into reality, we want you!
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute creative concepts and design solutions that align with client objectives and brand guidelines.Â
- Collaborate closely with our team of copywriters, designers, and strategists to develop innovative concepts and campaigns that align with client objectives
- Lead the creative direction for client projects, from initial brainstorming sessions to final execution
- Develop comprehensive brand identities, including logo design, color palettes, typography, and visual elements
- Create compelling visual assets for a variety of channels, including digital, print, social media, and more
- Provide guidance and feedback to junior designers to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices to inform your creative approach and inspire new ideas
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field
- Expertise in traditional design principles, including experience in printing processes, branding, and packaging design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software
- Strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience mentoring and developing junior team members
- Experience in motion design, including proficiency in animation software such as After Effects, is a plus

Format Agency is searching for an enthusiastic Art Director to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida. Comprised of designers, photographers, videographers, and digital marketers, our team works with a wide range of clientele from recognizable local brands to nationwide Fortune 500 companies.

You’re confident, collaborative, and comfortable working with a team in a fast-moving environment. As an expressive and strategic designer, you’re driven to craft varied and unique brand materials that satisfy the client’s needs without sacrificing artistic integrity.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead website design and visual UX
- Create web comps and update current sites
- Works on concepts throughout development, refinement of direction, and final adjustments
- Has a strong creative vision for multimedia and the ability to develop integrated campaigns
- Ability to apply/style brand guides in the execution of existing concepts
- Possesses a multi-disciplinary mentality towards design to be executed in traditional as well as digital
- Ensures quality and preparation of deliverables for handoff to interactive developers, printers, clients, etc.
- Develops creative ideas (in collaboration with team members and copywriters) based on criteria in creative briefs and/or direction from senior leadership
- Conceptualization, content, and design of all graphic content, including, but not limited to: Social media content, print communication, promotional content, web and multimedia graphics, email campaigns
- Work closely with other creative team members to deliver modern and relevant designs that will appeal to the target demographic and maintain and advance the client’s branding
Required Qualifications:Â
- Bachelor’s degree required; designÂ
- 3 + years of experience in an agency setting
- 3 + years of previous experience in graphic design
- MUST have a current portfolio to be considered for this position
- Strong eye for visual composition in typography, layout, color theory, and info design
- Experience creating unique identities for a wide range of brands and industries
- Strong knowledge of HTML/CSS and web development
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs while under pressure on strict time deadlines
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver and execute high quality and consistent work
