Do you love to find creative solves through video? Do you thrive on taking good content and making it great, and making great content even better? Are you a strategic thinker, always trying to uplevel your work? Then keep reading – this role might be for you! GCI is seeking a senior video editor with a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience producing and editing video content to tell compelling stories.

Candidates must be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects. While advanced animation experience is not required, basic knowledge will be important for success. An interest in working as a team is a must – all GCIH video editors will collaborate closely with our animation and design teams.

Interest or experience in video production is also helpful. Must be comfortable learning and training to own remote and in-person video shoots over time.

Qualified candidates should be comfortable reading/ interpreting client brand guides. Healthcare experience is not required but is a plus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience and/or portfolio of work demonstrating advanced editing techniques that showcase visual storytelling ability and knowledge of various video platform outputs (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok)
  • Ability to lead produce remote capture video shoots. Interest in learning/ taking on in-person video shoots
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Familiarity with integrating live action video and animated elements.
  • Basic Knowledge of color correcting and audio mixing.
  • Ability to own video projects and series independently, taking an active role in strategy, planning, filming, and editing
  • Actively participate in brainstorms and contribute innovative video concepts as part of larger campaigns

Salt Studios, our in-house production team is looking for a Senior Producer to join the team. The Senior Producer is primarily responsible for the successful execution of creative ideas for clients, working closely with internal agency teams (from Strategy, Accounts, Creative) to external suppliers (production vendors, production consultants, key partners & freelance resources). They have solid experience producing across the following platforms: Broadcast & TV, OLV, print, social and digital and can foster positive energy, manage expectations and work collaboratively to find creative solutions to problems that arise during the development of projects.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a mix of Broadcast & Digital productions
  • Leading production schedules and on set team management/leadership
  • Track and maintain project budgets and coordinate, plan and execute production schedules, shoots, and prep projects for post
  • Manage production day to day, communications with suppliers/ agency teams/ clients/ vendors
  • Manage deliverables & track project progress
  • Collaborate with creative teams to elevate the creative concept by providing ideas, production solutions and options, relevant references, and to identify and mitigate risks to projects/ proactively problem solve
  • Evaluate initial creative concepts and define deliverables
  • Research and recommend best-in-class suppliers (production companies, directors, key partners, and freelance resources), negotiate fees/rates and identify and proactively mitigate risks to projects
  • Build, maintain and update vendor contracts
  • Manage insurance & legal paperwork
  • Oversee key steps/phases during project development (Pre-production, production, post-production, and delivery)
  • Keep Head of Studio informed of key developments with projects on an ongoing basis
  • Project manage & produce post-production and delivery of final assets

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • 5+ years’ experience in a production role at a creative agency, broadcaster, media agency or production company and diverse production experience
  • Excellent Production Skills (Including line production experience)
  • Excellent planning and project management skills
  • Fluent in Excel & Powerpoint
  • Ability to use experience and production expertise to problem solve in real time
  • Collaborative and strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in the development of content (film, print, photography, etc.), digital (web, mobile, social, etc.) and experiential (events, activation, etc.) projects.
  • Strong knowledge of top tier suppliers/ good relationships with key contacts in North America and negotiation skills (experience working with cost consultants)
  • Strong technical knowledge of production

Reporting to the VP of Product Management, the Editorial Director will be accountable for growing traffic to Mediavine’s portfolio of owned and operated sites — The Hollywood Gossip, Food Fanatic, and TV Fanatic. Reporting to the VP of Product Management, the Editorial Director will be accountable for growing traffic to Mediavine’s portfolio of owned and operated sites — The Hollywood Gossip, Food Fanatic, and TV Fanatic. They will manage a small team of editors, contract writers, and an in-house SEO analyst in developing and implementing detailed content plans and audience development strategies to dramatically grow our traffic and loyal base of readers — with an ultimate goal of being among the best in their niches.

You’ll also serve as one of the company’s public facing experts, working with the VP of Product Management to provide well-researched, sound guidance for content plans and audience growth to our thousands of publisher partners via blog posts, webinars, and other engagement opportunities.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the growth of traffic and email acquisition efforts across the O&O sites
  • Accountable for working with O&O Editors to develop a repeatable content plan for both publishing new content and optimizing our large libraries of archival content to drive audience growth via search, social media, direct, and other channels
  • Accountable for managing, training, and recruiting a team of editors and freelancers to support the content plan
  • Partner with the SEO Analyst on developing a comprehensive SEO plan to provide ongoing keyword research to identify areas of traffic opportunity, gaps in our existing content strategies, and recommendations for technical optimization
  • Partner with Mediavine Product Managers to implement new tests and features on O&O products

  • Expert level of experience developing sophisticated email newsletter strategies to acquire and retain users
  • Expert verbal and written communication skills, able to clearly distill data, define objectives, build consensus, and implement processes among stakeholders with a wide level of industry and technical experience
