Job Description

NBCUniversal’s Studio Operations group within the Operations & Technology Services organization has an opening for an experienced Vice President of Production Services Operations. Reporting to the SVP of Studio Services, the VP of Production Services Operations has full P&L responsibility and leads the development strategies for delivering best-in-class production services to all internal NBC Universal productions and third-party clientele. Those services include Set Lighting, Grip, Administration, and Transportation teams.

The position is responsible for providing the vision, leadership, and a collaborative execution of strategies, policies, and goals in alignment with those of NBCUniversal and the Operations & Technology Services leadership. Immediate emphasis will be around driving the development and implementation of a Studio Services strategy focused on leveraging data and insights to identify efficiencies and opportunities to enhance our client’s experience, and long-term initiatives that contribute to the advancement of our organization and financial health.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • In Partnership with the SVP of Studio Services, help define and implement the operational strategy, structure, and processes for Studio Services.
  • Develop an analytical culture using historical and current operational data to drive predictive analytics for the business.
  • Enable more disciplined management of service, cost performance, and optimization initiatives through the design and development of reporting and analytics.
  • Own and define the key performance indicators (KPIs) and diagnostics to measure performance against the Studio Services strategy.
  • Implement processes and systems that generate higher productivity, and measure gaps between actual and desired levels of process capability, employee performance, service levels, and other key business outcomes.
  • Lead and oversee the daily operations of Universal’s offsite Production Support operations in Los Angeles, New York, Illinois, New Mexico, and Georgia.
  • Work with the Market Development Team to manage the annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities.
  • Coordinate divisional support needs with HR, finance, and support service business.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the financial expectations and requirements put forth from a production point of view.
  • Ensure that capital strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs.
  • Influence direction amongst multiple operations with the goal of providing exceptional production service support.
  • Work with internal teams to launch new products to the rental market.
  • Partner with the Market Development Team to build global growth strategies in high-volume markets.
  • Collaborate with production, studio services, and other supporting departments to establish plans that will best allocate resources.
  • High degree of interactions with departmental heads, including matters of accounting, facility management, and other departments.
  • Deals with contractual issues as it relates to the jobs that are taking place, such as deal memorandum and pricing, which ultimately helps drive met the goals of long-range plans.

Required Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of senior management expertise overseeing production studio services, or supply chain operations, or logistic experience managing large-scale multisite operations.
  • Experience with complex operational, process, and performance improvement projects, including process mapping and process re-design.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building a culture of continuous improvement for process and operations, and a track record of successfully managing large teams across locations.
  • A strong understanding of working in a union environment, including contract knowledge.

  • Ability to maximize productivity and wiliness to think outside the box and challenge the status quo, while also evaluating permissibility under industry contract agreements.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, entrepreneurial, and subjective environment that balances operational efficiency and data analysis with high-quality standards and a sense of urgency.

  • Financial acumen and capital planning capabilities, including experience in developing, implementing, and reporting on multiple operational and capital budget plans.
  • A strong ability to oversee and manage P&L statements across multiple operations.
  • Ability to identify training needs and develop programs to increase operation capabilities and expand the interchangeability of employees across all operations within Studio Services.
  • Technologically savvy, collaborative, confident leader, familiarity with multiple computer production operating systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication style based on the audience.

Salary Range: $190,000 – $250,000; bonus and long-term incentive eligible

Job Description

The Partnership Manager is responsible for the successful onboarding, implementation, and performance of third-party partners. This person will serve as the point of contact to coordinate, monitor and manage all internal technical and business integration work related to partnership deliverables, sales and profitability commitments. They will handle tracking issues, managing risks, delivering outcomes, and communicating status of partner activities.

  • Develop and execute scalable onboarding, implementation, and optimization processes with integrated and eCommerce partners.
  • Collaborate with data, product, sales and customer success departments to ensure departments are aligned to core business objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple initiatives and efforts, including technical and business integration.
  • Establish clear ownership for project tasks, ensure that team members have the tools needed, and provide prompt feedback.
  • Work closely with Product Development and other departments to ensure products, systems, and infrastructure meet the client and business requirements.
  • Track progress and review project tasks on an ongoing basis to make certain milestones and deadlines are met timely.

Division Profile

NBCUniversal is a leader in providing entertainment programming to the US and international marketplaces. The Global Television Distribution division is responsible for the distribution of NBCUniversal products to all forms of linear and digital media. This includes the distribution of current and library theatrical movies, direct-to-video movies, documentaries, and specials, plus all forms of television products – scripted TV series, non-scripted TV series, mini-series, animation, and TV movies.

Overview

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for servicing current broadcast and library TV materials to a select group of Worldwide Electronic-Sell Through, Video-On-Demand, Subscription Video on Demand, and Ad-Supported Video-On-Demand clients who license products from NBC Universal Television. This position will be responsible for setting up the delivery in a timely fashion and in accordance with contractual terms.

This individual will report to the Manager, WW New Media Platform TV Servicing

Responsibilities

  • Research availability of materials needed to service clients within provided timeline, including time sensitive launches per contractual terms.
  • Investigate and resolve material rejections.
  • Deal with inquiries from clients, responding to all questions and concerns regarding NBC Universal product within division SLA.
  • Complete status reports and research projects as requested by Sales, Account Management teams and Supervisor.
  • Maintain reports of all products licensed, delivery requirements, and status of servicing across clients assigned. Update purchase order and inventory systems with relevant delivery and invoice information in a timely manner.
  • Interact with Sales, Sales Administration, Legal, Marketing, Publicity, Technical Services and outside Post Production and storage facilities to prioritize asset creation and delivery for one or more of the following media: EST, VOD, SVOD, and AVOD.
  • Coordinate with Supervisor, Sales, Finance and Legal to insure that license agreements are properly approved before proceeding with delivery.
  • Assist in metadata and art delivery when needed.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by management.
  • Work long hours as needed, including weekends .
  • This position will include a company cell phone.

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in videotape and/or digital operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 – including but not limited to Outlook, Word, and OneNote.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel, including Macros (VBA)and, Pivot Tables; experience with database systems and advanced Formulas.
