Description: Join the Hour Media Group’s Detroit office as a Video Producer. The role collaborates with the Video Team on the Detroit brands. Looking for creative individuals that have experience in multiple video production disciplines and have an appetite to help grow the digital department’s impact.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate to produce video content for Detroit’s digital brands. This includes artistic direction, working with internal teams for content and technical execution of the videos.
- Lead short-form video projects from start to finish (pre/shoot/post). Both studio and location work.
- Jobs and crew ranges scale based on the size of the project. For larger shoots we employ the help of area freelancers.
- Maintain production schedules.
- Engage with internal staff and clients with professionalism and efficiency.
- The job is office based but includes frequent remote shooting on-location.
- Hours default to M-F 9a-5:30p but may vary with on shoot days with rare occurrences of nights and weekends.
Skills needed:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and still have fun.
- Creative insight and approaches to content production including how to take advantage of the unique demands of emerging platforms (i.e. TikTok)
- Skilled with video camera and video camera motions.
- Skilled with production lighting and sound.
- Skilled with digital live stream and board-based camera switching.
- Skilled in publishing video content on digital channels such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, etc.
- Eye for proper lighting, and color grading.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere
- Efficient and organized editing workflow.
- Ability to physically lift and move camera equipment to on-location shoots.
- Must have drivers license

ABOUT THIS ROLE
VVK PR + Creative is looking for a Senior Video Producer to join the creative production department who will report directly to the VP of Creative Production.
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone with five or more years of producing high quality video content and handling projects from concept to completion. The Senior Video Producer will work closely with the six-person (and growing) video production team and engage with the public relations department and leadership to ensure alignment across business objectives.
Creativity is key for this position. We produce broadcast commercials, digital marketing content, and even episodic stories and we need someone who will push the envelope of great storytelling, effective project management and creativity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and execute branded and creative content
• Pitch, plan, and shoot image/branding campaigns for clients
• Be a project lead
• Gather feedback by asking the right questions from the stakeholders/clients to ensure the video represents said objectives
• Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines.
• Possess confidence with clients, in the edit room, and on the set.
• Have a professional demeanor with community partners and lead all shoots.

The Associate Producer (Experiential Marketing) will work directly with Account, Creative and Financial teams, as well as key clients, to ensure memorable event experiences, executed flawlessly, on schedule, within budget and exceeds all expectations. Agility, professionalism, attention to detail and grace under pressure are key attributes required for this position.
Please note: this is not a Broadcast/Media Producer position.
The Associate Producer will be primarily responsible for the production and execution of elements including but not limited to:
- Schedule development
- Budget development and on-going management
- Identification of qualified suppliers
- Developing bid specifications and support of the bid process
- Content management of project deliverables
- Project execution
Key Skills and Accountabilities:
- Must have proven experience in the live event environment
- Must have the ability to act as liaison with partners and other suppliers as necessary, building a productive relationship based on mutual trust and respect. This includes participation in periodic face-to-face client meetings as requested by account leadership.
- Ensure that processes are followed and that programs are developed within compliance of purchasing guidelines. This includes the third party vendor procurement process. In collaboration with Jack Morton accounts receivables/payables, maintain required schedule for billings, accruals, forecasting and reconciliations.
- Support account leadership to ensure clear and timely communication to clients regarding all of the above
- Ensure a “no surprises” approach, keeping the account team, creative team and other groups continuously up to date on the status of all deliverables
Success Measures:
- Positive feedback on management of programs as required by the project including budgets, schedules and other key deliverables
- Support a positive team climate that inspires all stakeholders to excel and deliver at a high level
Requirements:
- College degree and 2-4 years of project management experience
- In addition to proven live event experience, video and/or print production experience preferred
- Strong program management, organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated production competencies; client focus, effectiveness, attention to detail, flexibility, professional confidence and accountability for results.
- Management of multiple programs with internal and supplier teams
- Travel Requirement: up to 20% – 30% annually
- As specific projects require, must have the availability to execute projects on weekends and/or evenings
- Utilization of existing processes with attention to improving them as conditions evolve
- Candidate must have the strong skills in Microsoft Excel (budgets, schedules, resource management), Microsoft Word (templates, forms, etc.), Microsoft PowerPoint (communication of production solutions) and Microsoft Outlook (team communication)
- Ability to utilize proprietary programs to complete basic office responsibilities including but not limited to; time sheets, expense reports, PTO scheduling, cost accounting and tracking
