JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Marketing will lead a small team in the growth of a diverse portfolio of brands with products that generate 100mm+ in revenue. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to take ownership of a portfolio of products, ensuring their success day-to-day including: content and creative on the listing, marketing tactics, financial health of the business and developing strategies for growth. Your success will be based on your intimate knowledge of the products and team that you manage and the ability to diagnose issues and develop action plans.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze Amazon data (sales, conversation rate, sessions, etc.) to determine why certain products are trending up or down and develop strategies to quickly spot and fix low margin and low growth products
  • Utilize data to assess facets of the product (size of package, cost of ads, reviews etc.) and determine if there is room for optimization and increased EBITDA margin.
  • Create business plans outlining all strategic opportunities for your product portfolio, associated costs, timelines, and resources required to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Act as an important voice for decisions regarding prioritization of business ideas across teams.
  • Oversee a marketing team who are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of keeping a product listing successful on Amazon; this includes monitoring best seller tags, metrics shifts, inventory, conducting competitive analysis, reviewing maintenance strategies and more.
  • Develop strategies to increase sales, reduce costs and drive conversion rate of products including: price optimization, PPC (SP/SD/SBP/SBV ads), DSP, coupons and deals, creatives, listing optimization, SEO strategies. Ensure that the team delivers on these strategies.
  • Produce daily, weekly and monthly reporting for all products, coordinating with our finance team to ensure we are showing an accurate P&L.
  • Proactively catch issues before they are problems and understand everything about the ecosystem in which your products are selling (e.g., competitor landscape, industry landscape, Amazon marketplace rule changes).
  • Research programs and tools on Amazon and other ecosystems to increase sales
  • Partner with internal teams to develop a go-to-market strategy and facilitate successful, impactful product launches and international expansion.
  • Coordinate with our supply chain team to ensure products are always in stock.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s Degree (MBA) preferred, BA required
  • Minimum of 7- 10 years of marketing and or digital marketing experience (leadership position)
  • Expert knowledge of business models, marketing concepts, and practices and procedures of communications
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize efforts/workloads, with a strong sense of ethics, urgency, and purpose

What you will do

  • Design, develop, and execute first-class product marketing of our contact center solutions.
  • Craft concise, compelling messaging and positioning for internally and externally-facing collateral, including demo videos, customer videos, data sheets, presentations, whitepapers, e-guides, blogs and Salesforce AppExchange content.
  • Work closely with product management to translate individual product roadmaps into strong go-to-market programs.

Summary of Position:

 

The Senior Content Manager is responsible for managing core components of our content strategy by building and developing cohesive narratives across multiple touchpoints—with the goal of brand awareness and revenue generation. The senior content manager will create content across multiple formats and write blog posts, case studies, eBooks, sales whitepapers, etc. The ideal candidate has experience developing digital content strategies, creating content distribution plans, and analyzing metrics to make informed decisions

 

 

What you will be doing day to day:

 

  • Create and manage content strategies that move prospects through the buyer’s journey, from awareness to conversion
  • Develop content across multiple formats— includes writing/editing long and short form copy (including case studies, blogs, eBooks, whitepapers, articles, infographics, ads, website copy, etc.) 
  • Identify and monitor key KPIs to achieve OKRs; analyze data to identify trends and anticipate prospect needs
  • Develop and drive digital content strategies across the website, blog and educational resources
  • Conduct user research and apply to messaging strategies. Interview customers, users and prospects on a monthly basis to be constantly informed of their most pressing needs, challenges and language.
  • Ensure overall content consistency across the organization (including tone of voice)
  • Create and execute content distribution strategies across owned, paid and earned channels to expand reach
  • Conduct competitor research including selling points, talk tracks, key messages, and determine how we can differentiate and stand out

 

About you:

 

  • Ability to drive content strategy and writing high-quality content for digital channels– with metrics to prove results
  • Expertise in SEO and proven success executing SEO driven content to increase traffic 
  • Ability to influence marketing strategy and build business cases for investments
  • Track record of developing and executing user-generated content strategies 
  • Can-do attitude regardless of deadlines and occasional ambiguity + a growth-mindset

Patterson-UTI’s Drilling Automation team is a growing group of energetic, passionate individuals working to improve our operations through automation. The Product Development Manager will be involved in all aspects of the product life cycle, including interviewing stakeholders, drafting requirements, defining test criteria, supporting field deployments, and managing the iterative improvement process and performance analysis. The preferred candidate should have strong knowledge of directional drilling, drilling dynamics and controls and automation systems.

This role will be the direct report to the Sr. Product Development Manager, and consistently collaborate with controls & automation developers, data scientists, operations, technical services teams, and marketing.

Detailed Description:

  • Understand and influence the strategic vision of the Company’s automation and controls development roadmap; assist in prioritizing development efforts and report progress to stakeholders
  • Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for functional specifications of drilling automation products; continuously improve existing products, expand on market requirements, and advance development based on industry research and the needs of customers
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Contracts Managers to translate technical specifications into marketing and branding materials and manage overall product launch
  • Oversee development of supporting technical documentation, including design specifications, test procedures, commissioning procedures, training materials, and technical presentations
  • Define test acceptance criteria and conduct adequate manual and simulated testing in a laboratory environment with a test and quality engineer
  • Coordinate test programs, including rig selection, program alignment with internal and external stakeholders, software/hardware installation and commissioning
  • Work with analysts and data scientists to compile and analyze data from field tests, be able to translate results to prepare recommendations for further testing or development
  • Meet with customers to provide technical information on automation products; write white papers highlighting the technology and operational results; present at technical conferences and meetings
  • Understand industry trends and emerging opportunities in controls technology; analyze viability of new products; recommend new areas to invest in R&D

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical skills, able to think strategically and translate concepts into action plans and track results
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously to meet challenging deadlines
  • Able and willing to visit a drilling rig location on a semi-regular basis to gain subject matter knowledge

  • Lift and carry 50 pounds independently while walking on uneven surfaces

  • Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around the work environment with many moving objects including overhead machinery.

  • Ability to regularly travel as needed to visit worksites and support business units; may require extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area.
  • Ability to work on weekends and be on call after hours as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline, or an equivalent level of industry-related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the oil & gas drilling industry, with significant exposure to downhole drilling dynamics and/or automated directional steering

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product development of control system applications
  • 5+ years of experience in analyzing and improving drilling performance
  • 5+ years of experience in project management

Additional Details:

This position requires the person to be able to work in a time sensitive, high visibility role and regularly travel as needed to support business units and to visit work sites. It may also require extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) during variable hours. Variable work hours include hours worked on the weekend, on holidays, and hours to travel within and outside of the assigned region. The Engineer must work with an emphasis on planning, multitasking, and prioritization to maximize efficiency of the team. Must be able to work closely with others and manage customer interaction in a professional manner. Ability to safely navigate work sites with occasional walking, climbing, standing, stepping, working at heights, etc., during normal operating conditions (day/night, outdoor hot/cold weather) and while utilizing designated personal protective equipment (PPE).
