Summary

We are looking for an Art Director with a witty, quirky, funny, and a little edgy personality that can reflect the simple, free of concern, and socially conscious voice of the irreverent and iconic Sun Bum brand. And in doing so will help us take Sun Bum to the next level of global brand awareness and market disruption.

The Art Director will be responsible for leading the development of campaigns both large and small for digital and traditional platforms. These include but are not limited to motion, photography, animation, and print. Our ideal candidate will be able to create original work across a variety of mediums with exceptional skills in visual storytelling.

The person in this role will be responsible for delivering original design concepts while also maintaining the creative integrity and brand continuity of Sun Bum. They will collaborate closely with other members of the creative, brand, and social teams. They should be able to thoughtfully present their decision-making and also apply the direction given by team leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Passionate about creating skillfully crafted ideas across the web, mobile apps, social media, and traditional platforms.
  • Ability to create pitch decks to communicate ideas that excite and sell to marketing and partner teams.
  • Strong experience across a range of mediums including digital, social, integrated, and traditional.
  • Concept and produce brand and product visual communications delivering final executions on deadline.
  • Strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to present new ideas or seasonal concepts to small and large groups.
  • Skillfully leads and maintains relationships with external partners including animators, filmers, artists, photographers, and producers ensuring content is on brand.
  • Responsible for maintaining global brand consistency across all visual communications.
  • Demonstrates expert-level knowledge of current trends in color, technology, communications, art, and other cultural design influences.
  • Have knowledge and passion for film, photography, design, animation, logo design, illustration, typography, color theory, and web design.
  • Ability to build and edit files using Adobe programs including Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Perform high-level oversight on certain specified projects by providing day-to-day feedback for designers in coordination with the Creative Director and VP of Marketing.
  • Guide the team towards appropriate solutions based on the overarching creative vision (and business objectives).
  • Mentor and inspire less experienced members of the team. Work actively with them to help them grow and develop their skills.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in graphic design and art direction
  • Possess a strong graphic design background, including having an excellent understanding of color theory, light logic, typography, iconography, layout, fundamentals, and composition
  • Extensive proficiency with Mac OS
  • Extensive proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Must have an understanding of working with brands and branding strategies
  • Must work well within a fast-paced environment and keep your cool while juggling multiple projects
  • Ability to work within the provided structure and handle direction with attention to production schedules
  • Must have great verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and be an overall team player
  • Other duties as reasonably directed

$140,000-$160,000 is the salary range for this position. It represents a portion of the overall package, and there is flexibility based on the candidate’s qualifications.

Hi there! We are looking for an Art Director for our client, a Public Engagement Firm in Austin. Assuming that’s you (after all, you clicked on this job), we’re in need of someone with the following attributes:

  • Designs a range of outreach materials in the form of branding, information campaigns, presentation graphics, social media marketing, and web design
  • Can manage design projects pipeline and delegate work to team: Graphic Designer, Design Assistant, and freelance/contract help

Our agency client is looking for a Creative Director to join their team! This is a full time direct hire position starting as soon as we find the right person.

This is a hybrid opportunity, the team works 2 days per week in their office located in Ballard, Seattle.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Creative direction and strategy for the agency as a whole, you will work on copy-focused campaign work for their clients in the CPG, retail and active/lifestyle industries
  • Building and leading a team of direct reports consisting of designers and copywriters where you’ll be expected to conduct 1:1’s, manage workload delegation, creative mentoring, and project expectations of employees.

The ideal Creative Director will have:

  • 7+ years of copywriting and creative strategy experience, specifically focused on advertising and campaign work
