Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is an upcoming crime thriller neo-noir film and the sequel to the 2005 film Sin City. Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are scheduled to direct a script co-written by them. Sin City is based on the book by William Monahan and is based on the second book in the Sin City series.
Miller said this film would be a prequel and a sequel with stories that connecting what occurred before and after the first film. Rodriguez said that the Sin City 2 would comprise A Dame to Kill For and two other stories created by Frank Miller that were written precisely for the film. One such original story is “The Long, Bad Night”.
Angelina Jolie is said to be Rodriguez first choice in the role of Ava, but other competing headliners include Salma Hayek, Rachel Weisz and Rose McGowan. Other current stars scheduled to headline this film are Clive Owen, Mickey Rourke, Rosario Dawson, Jessica Alba, and Michael Madsen. Sin City is distributed by Dimension Films in association with Adam Fields, Frank Miller, Harvey Weinstein, and Bob Weinstein. Sin City 2 will be filmed in Austin, Texas.
