Netflix Expands Albuquerque Studio Complex with New Sustainable Features
Netflix has announced the expansion of its production facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The upgraded complex, now known as Netflix Studios Albuquerque, spans 108 acres and includes four new soundstages, three mills, a production office, two stage-support buildings, and two dedicated backlot areas.
The expansion emphasizes sustainability with the inclusion of on-site solar panels, battery storage systems, geothermal heating and cooling, and all-electric appliances. Additionally, the facility will feature 50 electric vehicle fast chargers, including DC fast chargers.
The newly expanded studio will host several upcoming productions, including the contemporary Western romance “Ransom Canyon,” the medical procedural “Pulse,” and the supernatural series “The Boroughs.”
New Mexico has previously served as the backdrop for numerous Netflix productions such as “Stranger Things,” “The Harder They Fall,” “Army of the Dead,” and “El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie.”
Netflix has made a significant impact on the local economy, directly investing nearly $575 million in New Mexico productions since 2019 and employing over 4,000 cast and crew members in the state between 2021 and 2023.
