Job Description

Nevada Athletics is recruiting for an Assistant Director, Creative Services. This position manages the planning and operations for all digital productions related to ICA competitions and events, including daily management of the internet streaming related to the department’s Mountain West Network production, as well as highlight packages, profile features and other social media and digital elements. The position oversees the creation of or directly creates all video, graphics, and media used in game day live production. The position also creates videos and clips used in overall departmental marketing, social medial, specific to the department, sports, coaches, individual athletes.

The Creative Services staff in Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) is responsible for supporting athletics programs and external departments to promote and enhance through digital, video, social media and the brand of Nevada athletics programs. The positions develop and implement a strategic plan for maximizing Intercollegiate Athletics’ (ICA) digital impact and position Wolf Pack Athletics as a leader across College Athletics in the use of digital communication tools. The positions collaborate with the Mountain West Conference (MWC) and other university entities under its umbrella to ensure new digital initiatives are followed in the overall creation and presentation of the athletics brand and events to the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify creative content needs and create content such as feature digital storytelling, highlight videos, and interviews Manage production shoots, including digital media for distribution of content in various formats for broadcast, web and mobile platforms for highlight shooting, storytelling shots and general content gathering. Produce creative content from shoot.
  • Works with the creative solutions department to coordinate the activities of the athletics video staff (graduate assistant and students) for creative video production, which includes but is not limited to: highlights of athletic contests, motivational videos for athletic teams, programming for special events, videos for display boards at athletic venues, as well as videos for use on web, social media and television.
  • Work with individual departments and team’s communications assigned staff to create audio and video content to promote and publicize sports, coaches, student-athletes and staff
  • Work as Director/Producer for Mountain West Network Broadcasts
  • Archiving of broadcast footage through proper labeling.
  • Coordinate with sports programs and team video personnel to generate video highlights
  • Work with other universities and implement conference initiatives to promote and publicize intercollegiate athletics at the University

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and two(2) years of related work experience; OR a master’s degree and one (1) year of related work experience

Related Experience:  videography, video production, and/or video editing
