When Actors Should Give Up On Becoming an Actor

0

When actors should give up and quit their dreams of becoming an actor.

Acting is tough. Who ever tells you that making it as an actor is easy, is lying to you and you should really reevaluate any other tips this person provides.

In any job, dream or career aspiration, it is important to keep in mind that no one has more interest in your success than you do and the only way only way to become a successful working actor is by taking full responsibility and work hard toward your goals.

That is why you should never give up and work on getting a tough skin to protect yourself from the thousands of rejections you are going to face on a daily basis. Every actor will experience the word no millions of times through out their career, but only those actors who continue working on gaining new fans, creating new content, working on their craft will eventually hear that first yes. And over time you will hear a lot more people telling you yes.

Persistence and never giving up is what separates professionals from the amateurs and wannabe actors. If hearing rejection on a consistent basis pisses you off and makes you sad, then you are pursuing acting for all of the wrong reasons. That is why it is important you develop a tough skin. Learn how to see rejection as part of the job and understand that every actor goes through it.

Casting directors, producers and directors constantly criticize actors. It is only part of the job. But, it is important actors understand they are not personally attacking you, they are doing their job and attempting to create the scene for a TV show or movie. Chances are good that the person that rejected you today may hire you for a different role tomorrow.

It is important to remember that there is a fine line between never giving up and being stupid. Never giving up requires you to find out what works and what does not work and only working on what works. That is why doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results when it comes to acting is not only stupid it is pretty damn crazy. Therefore you should be persistent, not stupid, and you will go a lot further in your acting career.

Why Every Actor Should Not Focus on Being a Great Actor

0

In order to be an amazing actor, you have to focus on the little things.

Many actors have lost their jobs by acting unprofessionally on the set. Actors who always show up late, getting into fights with actors or crew, interfere with other people working, or show up drunk or high may be written out of a show our simply just fired.

Michael Cera
LOS ANGELES – APR 29: Michael Cera arrives at the “Arrested Development” Los Angeles Premiere at the Chinese Theater on April 29, 2013 in Los Angeles, CA (Helga Esteb / Shutterstock.com)

Michael Cera is known for his quirky jokes and his cute movie roles. But did you know that Michael Cera flipped out on set of Knocked Up? You can watch the video below, but needless to say, he was later fired from the movie.

Actors must always keep in mind that you can lose an acting job about a million different ways, but can get one only by acting professional at all times to everyone on set and off set. Being a professional actor requires being courteous, polite, and charming to everyone you come across even the production assistant who guards the backdoor. You  never know what they can do for you in the future, that is why it is good business practice to always be nice.

Here are three tips to improve your acting career while you are on set.

1. Show up on time.

2. Know your lines.

3. Be nice

But, actors can improve or hurt their acting career by using on social media. As Project Casting already pointed out, casting directors and producers are paying more attention to what actors do on social media. The more followers an actor has, the better. That is why every actor should learn to post on social media on a consistent basis. However, many actors get into trouble by writing or posting controversial topics online on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook. Nowadays, a single Tweet can go viral in a matter of seconds that is why it is important actors keep everything PC (politically correct) at all times.

Keep in mind. Directors and producers do not always cast the best actor their movie or TV show, they are looking for actors that have a growing fan base, easy to work with and actors that are nice. By focusing not on your acting talent 100% of the time but on social media presence and personality, you can go a long way.

Hugh Jackman: Tom Hardy Should Be the Next Wolverine

Hugh Jackman reveals his casting decision for the next Wolverine movies.

So Hugh Jackman is finishing his time in the X-Men universe by working on several upcoming films and a final Wolverine movie and people are starting to wonder who should replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. That mean’s Hugh Jackman’s promo tour for Pan is full of questions about who should be the next Wolverine. And, according to Hugh Jackman, the answer is pretty straightforward: get Tom Hardy.

This is Wolverine, a “younger” and it looks as though Wolverine is a character that studios will want to keep alive as long as possible. There’s no official word here, obviously, but it would seem that the guy who is currently playing Wolverine will have a major influence on the casting decision.

From MTV News:

“I haven’t really given it a lot of thought,” Jackman said. “I’ve been asked that question a lot, and I’m always like, ‘I don’t wanna make it too easy on the studio to replace me,’ you know? I’ve still got one more to do. I’m sure they’re already talking about it, and there’s some actor [they’ve told] ‘shh, keep it quiet but we want you next…

“He’s younger than me for sure,” Jackman said. “I think Tom Hardy would be a great Wolverine.”

Tom Hardy has become America’s most sought after actors. There are rumors he will replace Daniel Craig on the upcoming James Bond sequel.

People reports that the specials, which will probably testing the waters for a full-fledged Duggar return, will feature Jessa and Jill Duggar as they prepare for a major moment in their lives:

“What we will be following in these specials is Jessa preparing for her first child,” Nancy Daniels, TLC’s executive vice president and general manager, told the Associated Press, which first broke the news. “And we’ll be watching Jill preparing to make a major move to Central America with her family, which we know is something our audience will be interested in.”

Josh, won’t be on the shows, but considering how close and big the family is, you’re probably going to see a bunch of Duggars hanging out in the background. On top of that, Duggars cannot be more excited for their return to TV.

“We are looking forward to reconnecting with everyone with the new specials on TLC – many have asked about our mission work and about the challenges of taking our family to a different country, culture and learning a new language,” Jill wrote on Instagram on Thursday. “We appreciate your prayers.”
