‘Scream Queens’ Emma Roberts Wants to Quit Acting

Emma Roberts told Allure she might quit acting and try becoming a producer a writer.

The leading Scream Queens actor came up with this idea after going to set in New Orleans day after day and having to get dressed up.

I thought of it a lot during Scream Queens when every morning there’s full hair and makeup and heels and minidresses. And I thought, You know, I kind of want to show up to work one day and not care what I look like. It would be nice to just slip away for a little bit

Emma Roberts’ Scream Queens is a comedy series created by Ryan Murphy that premiered earlier this year on Fox. however, the series has had a rough start in the ratings department. The first episode premiered with 4.04 million viewers.

But, ratings quickly fell to 2.53 million and 0.9/3 in the key demographic.

Currently, reports suggest that Fox is still debating renewing the series for another season, which means Roberts will probably start producing a lot sooner than she thought.

‘Screech’ To Start 4 Month Jail Term in January

The D list actor, famous for playing Screech nearly 20 years ago on Saved by the Bell was convicted in June for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct.

According to reports, the former Saved By the Bell time is going to jail for four months after a fight at a Wisconsin bar with work release in January.

You may recall that Dustin Diamond was convicted in June for carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. He was previously facing a felony but those charges were lated dismissed. He was going to start his jail term during the summer, but a judge held off the sentence pending his appeal.

Dustin Diamond has had a rough time since Saved By the Bell was cancelled. Unlike, Mario Lopez, who is actively working in the entertainment industry, Diamond has resorted to reality shows and pornography. Quentin Tarantino Bashes Disney Execs Over a Movie Theater

Quentin Tarantino accuses Disney of “extortionist practices” over movie theaters.

The director of The Hateful Eight wants you to know how he really feels about the upcoming Star Wars movie. Tarantino accussed Disney of allegedly practicing extortion on Wednesday for refusing to give up the Arclight Hollywood’s famous Cinerama Dome in order to make space for a showing of his The Hateful Eight starting Christmas Day. “They are going out of their way to f— me,” said Tarantino during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show.

Disney booked the movie theater several months ago for Star Wars: The Force Awakens which starts their first showings on Thursday night and is scheduled to play at the Cinerama Dome through the holidays.

However, the production company behind The Hateful Eight has been working on a deal with Arclight to give them a the dome for The Hateful Eight, considering The Force Awakens is also showing at the TCL Chinese Theater and the El Capitan Theater in Los Angeles.

“It’s vindictive, it’s mean and it’s extortion,” Tarantino said, alleging that when the Arclight theater chain tried to tell Disney higher-ups that they would be honoring a contract to show The Hateful Eight at the Cinerama Dome, the studio threatened to pull Star Wars from all Arclight locations. “It was real bad news and it fucking pissed me off,” added Tarantino.

However, according to reports, there was nevera a deal with The Hateful Eight to show the movie.

Insiders say there was never a contract to play Hateful Eight (generally speaking there are never contracts, only verbal deals). TWC has known since advance ticket sales went on sale for Force Awakens in late October that it would not get the dome, but Tarantino wasn’t informed until recently.

Instead, Hateful Eight — which held its worldwide premiere at the Cinerama Dome — will play in another auditorium at the Arclight equipped to project in 70mm film. Tarantino’s revenge Western debuts exclusively in a 70mm roadshow in 100 theaters across the country before being made available in digital formats on Dec. 31.

The director of The Hateful Eight said nothing but good things about the director of The Force Awakens saying “I love J.J.”

“I made a lot of money for the Disney corporation,” he said.

STUDY: People Feel Safer at Movie Theaters than at Work

Despite mass shootings becoming a more common occurrence in the United States a new study is quite surprising.

Terrorist attacks in San Bernadino, California and Paris have put National Security to the forefront of politics and the media. Despite all of this anxiety about future attacks in public places, consumers are not afraid of going to the movies, according to a new study.

80 percent of moviegoers say they feel safe in movie theaters, according to a consumer insight firm C4. In fact, people feel safer at the movie theaters than they do at work, at a concert, sporting event and an airport.

From Variety:

C4 polled 500 people who had seen six or more movies in the past year to see if their attitudes had been impacted by terror fears. Although they still view multiplexes as a safe space, most respondents believe that more needs to be done by movie theaters to prevent violent crimes from taking place. Only a third of moviegoers said they believed that theaters were doing enough to keep them safe.

The company conducted a similar survey last summer after a gunman killed two patrons and himself during a showing of “Trainwreck” in Lafayette, La., and in the wake of an attack during a Nashville screening of “Mad Max: Fury Road” left a hatchet and pellet gun-wielding assailant dead. At the time, C4 found that while audiences supported additional safety precautions at theaters, they weren’t planning to alter their moviegoing habits.

That’s good news for the upcoming release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens as the movie is expected to break nearly every record known to man. The next two weeks are projected to be among the highest-grossing of the year for movie theaters because the release of Star Wars is during the holiday season.

However, it is interesting to point out that nearly 70% of all Americans believe that mass shootings are a common occurrence, according to a NBC survey. “People aren’t changing their behavior, but they’re changing their mindset,” researchers said. “They’re accepting things that maybe a year or two years ago they wouldn’t consider.”

#TWDStarWars is the Best ‘Star Wars’ ‘Walking Dead’ Mash Up You Will Ever See

The Walking Dead/Star Wars mash up is the best thing you will see all week.

One of the biggest shows on TV mashed up with one of the biggest movie franchises in history on Twitter and it was amazing. The Walking Dead twitter account proved that you don’t need to be associated with Disney to get in part of the Star Wars magic.

The hit AMC zombie apocalypse drama asked fans on social media to mashup the two franchises on Wednesday using the hashtag #TWDStarWars, and fans answered the call turning it into a trending topic on Twitter.

3 Ways to Protect Yourself from ‘Star Wars’ Spoilers

Here is how you can protect yourself from Star Wars: The Force Awakens spoilers.

The Internet is designed to spoil movies, TV shows and even Christmas. According to a Netflix poll, 21% of people don’t think it’s a big deal to reveal the major plot twist of a movie or TV show “immediately,” and 76% think spoilers are just a “fact of life.” So how do we protect ourselves from friends, families and social media from spoiling the ending of Star Wars.

Star Wars
TeeRoar / Shutterstock.com

The easiest tool you can use is Spoiler Shield. It’s basically an app for iOs and Android, and it has a Chrome extension, that blocks information on topics you set. And you can change it when you need to. For example, say you haven’t seen ‘Star Wars’ you can easily change the settings to block out ‘Star Wars’ spoilers.

If you want an even simpler option, you can download the browser app Star Wars Spoiler Block. The app scans browser pages and looks for ‘Star Wars’ related phrases, and blocks them.

If all else fails. Turn off your computer, cell phone, tablet, and disconnect yourself from fans.

Atlanta Filmed ‘Furious 7’ is the Most Mistake-Filled Movie of 2015

Atlanta filmed Fast & Furious 7 called the most mistake-filled movie of the year.

MovieMistakes.com, a website that posts mistakes in more than 8,000 movies, claims that Furious 7 features 41 mistakes including continuity mistakes, factual errors, and several instances of visible crew members.

Following Furious 7, Jurassic World is named 2015’s second most error filmed movie with 33 mistakes, followed by The Martian with 21, Spectre with 16 and Mad Max: Fury Road with 15.

Avengers: Age of Ultron made the top ten list but only had seven mistakes.

Even with 41 mistakes, Furious 7 is nothing in comparison to Captain America: The Winter Soldier which features 58 mistakes according to the website.

Check out the 2015’s top ten mistake-filled movies below:
1. Fast & Furious 7 (41 mistakes)
2. Jurassic World (33)
3. The Martian (21)
4. Spectre (16)
5. Mad Max: Fury Road (15)
6. Ant-Man (12)
7. Terminator Genisys (11)
8. Fifty Shades Of Grey (8)
9. Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (7)
9. Minions (7)
9. Avengers: Age Of Ultron (7)
9.
Spy (7)
9. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water (7)
9. Vacation (7)

What’s pretty surprising is that 4 out of the top 10 movies that featured the most mistakes are filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. Does this mean Atlanta is prone to making mistakes? Maybe, does it really matter at the end of the day? Probably not.

Bryan Cranston Shares Inspiring Acting Advice: It’s Not About Winning, It’s About “Telling Stories”

Bryan Cranston is the true definition of a hard working actor, this latest interview proves it.

Despite sharing one of the best pieces of acting advice in recent history, receiving SAG and Golden Globe nominations for his role in Trumbo, and winning four Emmys and a Tony for Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston can care less about awards.

“I don’t yearn for any award. I love to work, and I love telling stories .?.?. It’s our nature to be told stories, and if you’re really lucky, you get to make a living out of it,” he said at an Elyx House reception hosted by Jonah Hill, Aaron Paul and Harvey Weinstein, according to PageSix.com

Even so, he won’t be returning to any future Oscar ceremonies: “If people want to recognize [me], I’m thrilled .?.?. but it’s not at all what I think about or focus on. It’s someone else’s realm.”

And honestly, I believe Bryan Cranston. After winning his first Emmy, Bryan Cranston shared the single best piece of audition advice I have ever heard. You can watch the video below:

Tom Hardy Reveals Why He Quit ‘Suicide Squad’

Tom Hardy shares secrets behind the new movie The Revenant

Tom Hardy is one of Hollywood’s biggest actors. Most recently, he starred in the movie Legend where he plays a bisexual gangster and many critics praise his performances ever since he debuted in the HBO series Band of Brothers. Hardy recently sat down with Variety to discuss his next biggest challenge, working with Leonardo DiCaprio in the movie The Revenant.

Hardy explains that Leonardo DiCaprio personally contacted him to work on the movie.

Yeah. He called me up and said, “Dude, I know you’re about to do something where you’re jumping out of helicopters and shooting guns and shit. But before you do that, I need you to take a look at this script. It’s f—ing awesome.” That’s how it started—“It’s going to be f—ing awesome.” Then I had a meeting with Alejandro, talking through the character. I ended up getting the job.

The Revenant Leonardo DiCaprio-1

But, Hardy explained after getting the job, filming was extremely difficult.

Every single day was about endurance, and things changing at the last minute because of weather or location. It’s quite a big epic to wrangle. It was six to eight hours of rehearsal a day, and then we’d shoot for an hour and a half to get this particular piece of movement. If we didn’t get it, we’d have to come back the next day. It was an interesting procedure.

Hardy also explained why he quit working on Suicide Squad.

As a result of the lack of snow, production had to stop in Calgary and resume months later in Argentina. Because of the delays, you had to drop out of “Suicide Squad.”
It punched right into that, yeah. That got derailed for me. Was I bummed? Of course I was. I hate fucking losing work. I kept bemoaning that they were losing me significant money on a daily basis. Actually, it was good for my character.

Tom Hardy also goes on to reveal he’s afraid of horses. You can read the full interview here.

Tyler Perry to Host Fox’s ‘The Passion’ But, Will Fox Cast a Black Jesus?

0

Fox is teaming up with Tyler Perry to host and narrate a two-hour special about the end of Jesus Christ’s life.

The upcoming production titled The Passion, will air on Palm Sunday and will center around Jesus of Nazareth, focusing on the Last Supper and his betrayal by Judas to his trial by Pontius Pilate, conviction, crucifixion and resurrection. But, the historical account will come with a twist as the story will be set in mondern-day New Orleans, Tyler Perry’s hometown.

The entire story will unfold live in New Orleans’ most iconic locations throughout the city.

From Variety:

The story will be set in modern-day New Orleans, Perry’s hometown. It will unfold live at some of the Crescent City’s most iconic locations and feature a procession of hundreds of people carrying a 20-foot, illuminated cross from Champion Square outside the Superdome to the live stage at Woldenburg Park on the banks of the Mississippi River. A cast of as-yet-to-be-announced stars will feature a variety of popular music, arranged by music producer Adam Anders (“Glee,” “Rock of Ages”).

“‘The Passion’ is both wonderfully entertaining and genuinely inspirational,” David Madden, president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company, told Variety reporters. “We are so thrilled to have the multi-talented Tyler Perry join us for this epic music production. He is the perfect host to lead the cast – and viewers – through the streets of New Orleans in this contemporary re-telling of a timeless story.”

But, this begs the question, will casting directors cast an African American to play Jesus Christ?

Recently, controversy was stirred after a politician created a diverse nativity scene featuring a ‘black Jesus’.

Lizzie Blandthorn, an Australian Labor MP, displayed a black doll as the infant Christ as part of a multicultural representation in her office’s window. However she has received a number of complaints from local residents who claim the doll was “changing what Jesus was.”

Fox has not commented on who will play Jesus Christ in the upcoming live event.

This news comes as NBC released The Wiz Live! to a huge audience which received praise both on and offline.

Morocco Approves 20% Film Tax Credits for Foreign Movies, TV Shows

Morocco approves 20% cash credit for all movies filming in the North African country.

Days after the 15th annual Marrakech Film Festival, Morocco’s parliament has approved a new 2016 Finance Law that will provide 20% cash rebate for all foreign feature films filming in the country.

From Variety:

The final text will enter into force on March 31. The new Moroccan cashback mechanism offers a 20% cash rebate on all eligible spend in Morocco, provided that there is at least 10 million Moroccan dirham ($1 million) of eligible expenditure in Morocco and at least 18 days work – including set-building and/or the shoot. Given this, a production with only a six-day shoot but which also involves 12 days of set building can still qualify. General pre-production activity, such as location scouting, does not count for qualification.

Government officials have been pushing for this legislation since 2014. This new film credit is based on the 15% cash rebate scheme seen in South Africa.

According to Variety, Morocco is one of the filmmakers’ favorite foreign locations. Recently,  several feature films started production in Morocco including Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Army of One, The Yellow Bird and The Fixer.

Reports suggest that annual spending in Morocco will triple in the next few years.

‘Homeland’ Inspired the Los Angeles Bomb Threat Hoax

0

Government officials say ‘Homeland’ inspired the recent bomb threats that shut down Los Angeles schools.

New York City public schools received bomb threats on Monday but, unlike Los Angeles, the school officials dismissed the email threats and kept schools open. In fact, NYC public school officials considered the email threats as part of a hoax and the perpetrator was a fan of the Showtime drama Homeland.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYC Police Commissioner Bill Braton noted that the creator of the viral email threats most likely watched Homeland.

“The instigator of the threat may be a ‘Homeland’ fan,” Bratton told reporters. “Basically, watching ‘Homeland’ episodes that it mirrors.”

Even though the email threat was traced to an IP address in Germany, the sender could have easily hid his location.

“There has been some initial reporting that it may have come from an IP address out of Germany. We are doing that attribution now back to possibly Europe, where the source of this threat may have come from,” Mike McCaul (R-TX), House Homeland Security Committee chairman, told MSNBC’s Brian Williams. “[S]o we don’t, again, know the source of the threat itself or how credible, but we do know that the terrorists have looked at exploiting this means of social media as a device to shut things down.”

The fifth season of Homeland is set in Germany and centers around the topic of cyber terrorism. Although no episodes deal with bombing schools, the show’s plot lines often mirror real world events.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’: Analysts Can’t Predict Box Office Numbers

According to reports, suggest that the Star Wars box office numbers are going to be huge. The movie has already broken records for pre-sales, and earning more than $50 million in tickets and the movie is on track to break The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey which earned $84.6 million.

In fact, analysts predict that the new Star Wars movie will break Jurassic World’s record-setting $525.5 million global box office numbers.

But, if the box office numbers do fall short, the company can still make money off of ‘Star Wars’ merchandise, especially during the holiday season. That means that “The Force Awakens” could earn way over $400 million before 2016.
