Watch ‘St. Vincent’ Movie Trailer Starring Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy

0

Bill Murray is probably the worst role model ever in this upcoming movie.

In the movie trailer for St. Vincent, a Catholic school teacher played by Chris O’Dowd explains sainthood.  “A saint is a human being we celebrate for the sacrifices that they make, for their commitment to making the world a better place.”

St. Vincent is an upcoming American comedy film directed and written by Theodore Melfi. The film stars Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthyChris O’Dowd and Naomi Watts. The film will be released on October 24, 2014.

Maggie (Melissa McCarthy) is a new neighbor, a single mother whose son Oliver gets bullied at school. Having learned that his bank account is overdrawn, Bill Murray offers to watch Oliver after school for a paltry $11 an hour. The unlikely nanny takes his charge to the racetrack, teaches him how to defend himself, and introduces him to Daka (Naomi Watts), a “lady of the night” who, as she explains in a somewhat exaggerated Russian accent, “works for the man.”

Is Star Wars Episode 7 filming in Atlanta, Georgia?

Is Star Wars Episode 7 filming in Atlanta, Georgia?

Throughout Atlanta, Georgia there have been production and directional signs for ‘Star Wars 7‘. Is ‘Star Wars Episode 7’ filming in Atlanta?

Well before you get your Chewbacca costume out of the closet, it is unlikely that the movie is actually filming in the ATL.

Currently, Star Wars is filming in the UK at Pinewoods Studios. Despite, the new Pinewoods Studios complex that opened several months ago outside in Atlanta, we highly doubt that Atlanta is the filming location for Star Wars.

There have been reports that the upcoming Star Wars movie may film in Arizona or Los Angeles. However, there have been no formal announcements saying that Star Wars will film in Atlanta.

Many people have speculated that it is a big prank just to get Star Wars fans excited. It is also believed that this could be a possible commercial filming in Atlanta.

Ultimately, for major motion pictures that are trying to keep the movie details a secret, they usually give secret names. For example, the Divergent Movie Series is secretly titled ‘Mineral‘ to protect the details surrounding the movie.

If you have any idea what these signs are for, we’d love to know! Leave us a comment below!

Adam Richman from ‘Man Vs. Food’ has his show cancelled after Instagram comments.

Adam Richman‘s new show ‘Man Finds Food‘ was supposed to premiere on July 2nd but the show was indefinitely postponed after the host’s comments on Instagram.

The Travel Channel has not reported when the show would air.

“The show will not be airing on July 2,” Richman, the “Man vs. Food” host, said on Facebook. “Still waiting for a airing date for the show. Stay tune (sic) MFF fans!”

Adam Richman drew outrage in response to fans criticizing his use of the hashtage #thinspiration.

“Had ordered this suit from a Saville Row tailor over a year ago. Think I’m gonna need to take it in a little…#thinspiration” he wrote.

Instagram users immediately called him out for using the word which is used in pro-anorexia groups. After the coomment Richman began lashing out on others.

“Maybe you’ll acknowledge that just because someone is on TV, they are no less worthy of human kindness, respect, forgiveness or patience,” he told one user. “Give me a f—ing break. If anyone acts like a c— I’ll call them one. It’s not misogyny, it’s calling a spade a spade…if my use of the hashtag offended you, it was unintentional & for that I’m sorry.”

He also told a user to commit suicide.

“Grab a razor blade and draw a bath,” he wrote. “I doubt anyone will miss you.”

Richman later apologized and deleted all of his Instagram messages related to the incident.

Another TV Series Leaves Atlanta to Film in Los Angeles

0

Another TV production leaves Atlanta, Georgia for Los Angeles.

In under a month after the California Film Commission $100 million Film and TV Tax Credit program in a lottery, has picked up several new programs. Including the upcoming FOX’s Beach Boys and Universal’s Scarface reboot. These are two out of 11 feature films getting a piece of the $100 million incentives.

But, another production is jumping ship from Atlanta and moving to Los Angeles. BET’s Being Mary Jane will be moving from Atlanta to Los Angeles for its upcoming third season thanks to California’s tax credits.

Being Mary Jane’ centers on Mary Jane Paul, a successful TV news anchor who runs into modern day experiences that men and women can both understand and engage in. This intense drama shows Mary Jane juggling her life, her relationships, and her personal commitments.

Now the series will find a new home in Los Angeles instead of the Peach state.

Gabrielle Union‘s BET drama just received a green light to film a second season a few months ago, and according to reports the show will also receive a third.

The TV and Film Commission has revealed that a total of 26 productions will receive cash from California’s Film and TV tax credits. That is 26 out of a record 497 applications.

According to Deadline, here is the full list of shows and movies that will receive funding and will film in Los Angeles:

ca-film-tv-tax-credit-chart-2014

This 100 million dollar incentive is a movement by California representatives to reclaim productions that have left the state and film in places like Louisiana and Georgia.

This would be the third show in the last two years that has left Atlanta for Los Angeles. Previously, MTV‘s Teen Wolfwas filmed in Atlanta, Georgia but was later filmed in Los Angeles. It was reported in June that BET’s ‘Let’s Stay Together‘ will film in Los Angeles.

As it is right now, 26 projects at least have the go ahead to make their movie or show in California. Increasing the amount offered for incentives can make a real difference, according to Paul Audley, president of Film LA: “California’s current incentive program makes it hard to attract and retain new pilots and TV series. The data make plain why an expanded film incentive is needed to bring this part of the industry back.”

FOX Cancels ‘Hieroglyphs’ Before it Even Premiered

FOX Cancels the new series ‘Hieroglyphs‘ before it even aired

The new adventure drama Hieroglyph, which previously bypassed the pilot stage and had been given a 13 episode series order by FOX has now been cancelled.

The series was created by Travis Beacham (Pacific Rim) was scheduled to debut later on this year.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, only the first episode of Hieroglyph had been filmed before FOX decided that the storylines and plans for the series wasn’t “meeting a certain level of creatively.”

The Hieroglyph’s series order, came around during the ex-entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly argued to change the standard pilot process for new shows. Reilly stepped down as chairman at the end of last May in what was commented as a “voluntary” decision. Although reports show that Reilly had been arguing against FOX Networks Group CEO Peter Rice over certain show cancellation decisions.

It is rumored that Hieroglyph was one of Reilly’s passion projects. Now there is no replacement lined up.

Here’s the trailer for Hieroglyph:

10 Actors Who Don’t Watch the Movies They Are In

0

These 10 actors don’t watch the movies that they are in

It may seem pretty crazy to us, but it’s pretty common among many top actors to have never seen their own movies. But, the reasons for this vary.

Many actors are often insecure about their work and most of them don’t want to see their face projected on a movie screen to be overanalyzed and critiqued by movie critics.

Other actors worry that watching themselves on screen will somehow negatively effect future movie roles. If an actor is too critical of themselves they may become too self-aware of how they look from the outside and it may affect whether or not they take another role in the future.

You would assume that most actors would be excited to see the final product of a movie they have been spending long days and nights making, but for many professional actors that is not the case. Some actors simply enjoy acting, but not the movie itself. Once they are done shooting a production they are moving on to the next project.

Two actors that technically do watch their own films but don’t seem thrilled about it include Tom Hanks, and Robert DeNiro.

Tom Hanks was asked in an interview which one of his old movies does he enjoy to watch again:

Oh, I don’t watch any of my old movies. The one that I might watch with great affection is a little movie I directed, That Thing You Do, which I’m not in that much. I loved doing it so much that when I watch it now it still brings a smile to my face. I don’t watch my own performances – who does that? That would be madness. I’ve seen all the movies once, but I don’t need to see them again, because they don’t change.

Robert De Niro agreed and said watching himself in a movie is boring.”I don’t like to watch my own movies— I fall asleep in my own movies.” This almost seems hard to believe with cult classics like The Godfather and Taxi Driver how can you fall asleep?

Here are 10 actors that don’t watch their own movies

10. Andrew Garfield

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter for the movie Never Let Me GoAndrew Garfield told reporters that “I haven’t actually seen the movie. I try not to.” Garfield fears that he’ll learn or see something about himself which will mess with his head. He added, “I don’t want to be aware of what I’m doing. As soon as I am, I’m less open.” However, he was pressured by the makers of The Social Network to attend a screening of the film, “They made me watch that one,” he admits.

9. Jared Leto

Jared Leto won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in Dallas Buyers Club, but he probably never even saw what he looked like in the movie. Despite playing a unique and challenging role, Jared Leto said that process of making movies is different for him in comparison to other actors.

Well, the experience for me making a film is the most profound one. I really don’t have any business watching the movie so much. Maybe I could watch it for entertainment purposes, but you have so little input and control of the final product once you’re done that I feel like I just would rather leave it alone. It kind of leaves me in a place where every film I do, I’m kind of having to reinvent and figure out how to start again fresh, and hopefully not repeat myself.

8. Julianne Moore

Moore is one of those actors that is more interested in acting than filmmaking. Julianne Moore is more likely to walk the red carpet during the premiere and leave before the movie begins.

I haven’t seen any of my own movies… I can’t sit there for a premiere or anything. I like being in the movie more than I like watching them. That’s my big thrill, rather than seeing the finished product.

7. Megan Fox

Megan Fox from the Transformers movies admitted that she is really insecure about seeing herself on the big screen. Despite being a huge sex symbol she still feels vulnerable seeing herself on the big screen.

I never (look at myself), even in still photographs. I don’t look at anything. I panic if there is a monitor in the room I immediately go into like an anxiety attack. I’m insecure, I think most actors are pretty insecure.

She admitted that she did see Transformers 2. But, she admitted it took an entire glass of champagne, so that she could get through it.

6. Joaquin Phoenix

The Hollywood A-List actor known for Signs and Her, admits that he is interested in seeing what he looks like on camera. But, at the end of the day he feels that it will negatively effect him in all future productions.

I just think there’s a number of dangers in [watching yourself]. … I don’t ever really want to see myself as the camera sees me … I don’t want to watch myself. Of course, there’s a part of you that’s curious for a second, and I constantly have to tell myself, ‘No,’ because it stands a greater chance of having a negative effect on future work.

5. Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman admitted that when she was filming on a particular movie she was unable to get emotionally connected the character and feared what she would look like on screen. So instead of watching the movie, she decided to just never watch the movie at all.

I can’t look at this movie and be proud of what I’ve done. I sat there and I looked at (husband) Keith (Urban) and went, ‘Am I any good in this movie?” It’s just impossible for me to connect to it emotionally at all.

3. Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is not that interested to see how her movies turn out. Pointing out that:

I like the process of doing them more than watching them. I don’t really like to watch movies. But I love to watch Brad’s movies…

She pointed out while filming the action movie ‘Wanted’ she did not feel that connected the production to watch it.

I never like to watch myself ever. I still haven’t seen Wanted. I heard it was fun. I feel like I did something right if I can watch something and feel removed enough. I can watch this movie. I’m proud of this. I think it’s a really beautiful film. You’d have to ask Brad, but I think he likes this one.

2. Jesse Eisenberg

While promoting his new movie The Double during an appearance on The David Letterman Show, Jesse Eisenberg revealed that he hasn’t seen the movie, nor any other movie he has worked on. Just like Andrew Garfield he admitted that he was forced to watch The Social Network.

We had to go to a public screening of The Social Network at Lincoln Center, and I hated it. I mean, I know it’s a good movie because people say it, but I can’t look at my face.

But, what’s even more interesting is that he does not watch movies at all.

I’ve watched one movie in the past several years…

I just stopped watching movies altogether. So I’m not aware of anything that’s going on in the movies right now. I don’t know. I just stopped watching them.

1. Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp admitted that he has never seen any of the movies he has been in.

In a way, once my job is done on a film, it’s really none of my business. I stay as far away as I possibly can… I don’t like watching myself.

So in other words, Depp has barely seen any Tim Burton movies?

I made a choice a long time ago, that I was better off not watching my films, which is a drag because you miss out on a lot of your friends’ incredible work. But I feel like it would just harm me. I would rather stay as ignorant as possible about the result of anything because once you’re done playing that character, it’s really not your business anymore.

Google Glass Banned from UK Movie Theaters

0

Google Glass will be banned from all UK movie theaters.

If you just bought a Google Glass for around $1500, don’t bring it to the movies anytime soon. UK cinemas are getting ready to ban the headsets in fear that the devices will be used to pirate copies of Hollywood Blockbosters.

Two years since, Google Glass unveiled the device in Britain, it looks like Google has to overcome a huge hurdle.

Google Glass allows the wearer to read emails, take videos, and access the internet with a display fixed above the right eye.

But, it also allows people the ability to record people without their knowledge, with a stroke of a finger. This has prompted security concerns and movie theaters are alarmed that criminals could use the device to pirate and distribute copies of hit movies.

Google Glass only lasts about 45 minutes following continuous recording, make it extremely unlikely that anyone could record an entire movie. But, it is believed that gangs can combine video sourced from one movie tehater with images and sounds from another to produce counterfeit productions.

According to Independent criminals that illegally record movies are advanced in their techniques and developing ways to avoid getting caught:

Cinema staff have been given a guide to spotting pirates. Illegal recorders often sit in the centre of the cinema and shield themselves by having accomplices sit on either side of them. Some have even used small children to disguise their intent.

This is not the first time movie theaters got upset about Google Glass. In January, a man was interrogated by the FBI after wearing his Google Glass while watching ‘Jack Ryan’ in the movie theater.

If you’re debating about purchasing Google Glass, this is what you may just be missing out on:

Do you think the United States movie theaters will ban Google Glass? Do you plan on purchasing Google Glass in the future? Share with us your thoughts in the comments below!
