According to reports, the sequel to “Halloween”, “Halloween Kills”, is now filming under the production title “Mob Rules”. “Halloween Kills” is set to be the sequel to the 2018 movie which saw the return of Jamie Lee Curtis. David Gordon Green is returning to helm Halloween Kills as well as the third installment, Halloween Ends.
Universal and Blumhouse’s Halloween reboot movie opened to $76.2 million. It is the highest opening in the franchise’s history. The film ended up earning over $255 million globally and $159 million in the U.S. on a budget in the $10 million range.

Deadline reports Taika Waititi will write and direct a movie for Fox Searchlight Pictures. It will be an adaptation on the sports doc directed by Mike Brett and Steve Jamison. The documentary centered around Dutch coach Thomas Rongen’s attempt to take the American Samoa soccer team, which was essentially non-competitive on the world stage, to respectability… and maybe even to the World Cup.
Tyler Perry says he was “creeped out” by the actress who tried to get his notice with a billboard ad.
How far would you go to become famous? Well, Racquel Bailey, an aspiring actress in Georgia, wanted to get Tyler Perry’s attention so badly she paid for an ad on a billboard in Atlanta promoting herself to the filmmaker and entrepreneur. Now she is an actress on Tyler Perry’s new show ‘Sistas’, a new series about four, Black women in their thirties dating in Atlanta set to premiere on October 23, on BET.
Bailey reportedly first took out the billboard in 2012, but it failed to catch Tyler Perry’s attention. She then tried again several more times over the next few years. But, her latest attempt this past summer went viral and Tyler Perry finally took notice.
After seeing the billboard in June, Tyler Perry shared the ad on Instagram to explicitly request that no one else do the same thing.
“This is not the way to get my attention if you’re looking for a role in one of my shows,” he wrote, in part. “Please DON’T DO THIS, SAVE YOUR MONEY!! This is the third time that someone has done this. PLEASE STOP! To audition is FREE!! I’m sure you can use that money for a better purpose. I love that you want to work with me, and I love that you invest in yourself. But when you do things like this it puts my team on high alert and makes me look at you sideways.”
Ultimately, Bailey did land a role in Tyler Perry’s new series, so did her PR tactic work? Not really. Apparently, Tyler Perry did not find out that Bailey was the same woman on the billboard ad until after he hired her, which means she landed the acting job based on her acting, not her publicity stunt.
Perry was a guest on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’, where he explained the whole story.
“That was scary as hell. I was really creeped out about it,” he said on the show when asked about Bailey and the ad. “She auditioned. I didn’t even know it was her. I had separated the two in my mind. She got the job and after she gets the job, they tell me, ‘Oh that’s the girl from the billboard!’ I go, ‘What? Why didn’t somebody tell me!?’ It’s good that she’s good because if you put up a billboard and you suck, it’s not going to work.”
While the billboard did not get her the job, Racquel Bailey never gave up on her dreams and was focused on working with the legendary filmmaker.

Update Wednesday, September 9, 2020: Peacock has picked up two seasons of the drama series reboot of the classic sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.”
Via YouTube on Tuesday, Will Smith broke the news. The series, which is titled “Bel-Air,” will be based on the Morgan Cooper viral video, which reimagines the NBC comedy series as a drama. The trailer, which Morgan Cooper posted last year, received over 5 million views on YouTube.
Set in modern-day America, “Bel-Air” is a one-hour drama based on the 90’s sitcom, which focuses on the show’s original storyline: Will Smith’s harrowing journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air. The series was first announced as being in development last month.
Cooper is attached to co-write and direct the project and will also serve as a co-executive producer. Chris Collins will serve as showrunner and executive producer in addition to co-writing the script with Cooper. Smith will executive produce via Westbrook Studios along with Quincy Jones, Benny Medina, and the show’s original series creators Andy and Susan Borowitz. Miguel Melendez and Westbrook Studios’ Terence Carter will also executive produce. Also, Westbrook Studios and Universal Television will produce.
In relevant news, HBO Max announced they would air an unscripted “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” reunion special. The upcoming special will include Will Smith and Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Alfonso Ribeiro, as will DJ Jazzy Jeff. Nearly two decades after the Denzel Washington ‘Training Day’ movie premiered, the Academy Award-winning production is getting the prequel treatment. While there was a shortly lasted 2017 TV series that stared Justin Cornwell and Bill Paxton, Hollywood is ramping up production on a prequel movie.
According to Collider, Warner Bros. hired screenwriter Nick Yarborough to write the ‘Training Day’ prequel, which will center around Denzel Washington’s character Alonzo Harris nearly 10 years before what happens in the first movie. However, it remains to be seen if that will be a key storyline or a simple backdrop in the movie’s plot.

In the 90s Will Smith had earned the nickname Mr. July for starring two hit movies that came out around the 4th of July. Then in 1999, Will smith returned the next year with “Wild, Wild West” after 1996’s and 1997 hit movies “Independence Day” and “Men in Black”, respectively.
The western comedy made money, but not as much money as the previous flicks and the movie reviews were horrible. Even Will Smith has regrets about starring in the movie.
During Tuesday’s episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, Smith was asked to name a piece of advice he would give to his younger self.
“Hey man, don’t do Wild Wild West,” he replied. “I would say, ‘Dude, do Neo,’ because I got offered The Matrix.” Cue the groans from the audience. “How do you think I feel?”
Smith turned down the lead role in “The Matrix” because the project was “difficult concept to pitch [and in] the pitch, I just didn’t see it… [There’s a] fine line in a pitch meeting between genius and what I experienced in the meeting.”
That said “Wild Wild West” did not destroy Smith’s acting career. He’s just no longer referred to as Mr. July.

‘Matrix 4’ is now casting and hiring actors for scenes filming in San Francisco, California.
The Matrix is one of the most popular movie franchises of all time. The Sci-Fi franchise created by The Wachowskis centers around the creation of artificial intelligence, which leads to a race of self-aware machines that have imprisoned humanity in a virtual reality system called ‘The Matrix’ and are used as a power source. Every so often, some of the prisoners break free and become a threat to the future of The Matrix.
The first movie was a critical and commercial hit. The production won four Academy Awards and became a pop-cultural phenomenon. The Matrix Reloaded was an even bigger hit movie becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film inhibitory. As of 2006, the film has generated $3 billion in revenue. Warner Bros. Pictures has confirmed a fourth ‘Matrix’ movie is in development with Lana Wachowski co-writing and directing and Keanu Reeves reprising their roles.

Chad Stahelski worked as a stunt coordinator for several Wachowski productions including the Matrix trilogy. Stahelski mentioned the Wachowskis were working on a new Matrix movie. He would later retract his statement but, in August 2019, Warner Bros. Pictures officially announced the development of a fourth movie.
The ‘Matrix 4’ movie will have Lana Wachowski serving as co-writer, director, and producer on it. Lana will write the screenplay with David Mitchell and Aleksander Hemon, both of whom she worked within the Netflix series Sense8.
Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss were announced to be reprising their roles from the previous films, and in October 2019, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was also cast in a lead role.
The movie is set to begin filming in Chicago in February 2020.
‘The Matrix 4’ production to resume after Coronavirus
According to Deadline, ‘The Matrix 4’ is planning to return to production in Berlin, German starting this July 2020. The cast also signed eight-week extensions to keep actors on hold until July 6.
Production started back in February. The movie was filming in Berlin before production stopped out of safety due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to reports.
Berlin is not alone to start production. Deadline reports New Zealand and Poland are now resuming productions with Australia and Germany expected to ramp up production soon.
But, how does someone land a role on ‘Matrix 4’?
According to IMDB, the movie’s casting is done by Carmen Cuba, who previously worked as a casting director on ‘Stranger Things’.
In a recent interview, Carmen Cuba shared tips for aspiring actors. She says,“I find that most kids actually have a singularity to them that isn’t actually represented in kid casting. I think that traditionally kids who look a particular way—cute’ and ‘all-American’ are typical words used to describe what I mean—are encouraged to pursue acting and modeling and it results in a somewhat homogeneous representation of what a kid looks like. We definitely did not want that. We all remembered our childhood selves and wanted to replicate the awkward transitional beauty we experienced.”

‘Matrix 4’ is now casting extras for scenes filming this February in San Francisco, California. Casting directors are looking for extras and notices to work on scenes for three weeks in the financial district of San Francisco.
Details about he shoots are coming thanks to the SF Film Commission notices to neighbors around the financial district. A new casting notice has gone out seeking men and women over the age of 18 who have authorization to work in the United States.
Filming will begin Sunday, February 9th and will end on Sunday, March 1st. Most of the work being done between Wednesday and Sunday each week, and filming concentrated between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Dwyer Casting is looking for men and women ages 18 and older for background work in the upcoming feature film “Project Ice Cream.”
Filming is in San Francisco, California this February through early March 2020.
Payment is $124.72 for 8 hours
Must be available to work a full day (12 hours or longer per day)
Must be legal to work in the United States. Must bring a valid photo i.d. and social security card, or passport with you to set.

Latest ‘The Matrix 4’ set footage shows Neo and Trinity
After releasing casting calls for the new ‘Matrix’ movie, set footage shows the iconic character alongside Trinity.
The footage features Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss filming a motorcycle scene in San Francisco, California. Moss can be seen driving the motorcycle with Keanu riding in the back. Director Lana Wachowski is filming the duo on a crane set up. While the information about the plot of the movie have not been released, we do know that the long-haired look for Neo is set to be featured throughout the movie and Trinity will be returning despite meeting her end in ‘The Matrix Revolutions’.
