NBC “Community” Casting Information

Community is a comedy created by Dan Harmon that premiered in 2009 on NBC. The show follows a group of students at a community college in a fictional city, Greendale, Colorado. The show features meta-humor and multiple pop culture references, often times parodying popular films and TV clichés. The show has yet to gain a large audience, but as received positive feedback from critics. As of may 2012, the show has been renewed for a fourth season. But, the show will continue without the series creator Dan Harmon. Community features Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudy in association with Krasnoff/Foster Entertainment, Dan Harmon Productions, and Universal Television.

Showtime “Californiacation” Casting Information

Californiacation is a drama/comedy television series that debuted on Showtime in 2007. Tom Kapinos created the show and it is centered on Hank Moody played by David Ducohvny as a troubled novelist who moves to California to escape writer’s block which ends up complicating things with his long-term girlfriend and his daughter. The show has been nominated and won several awards, including one Emmy Award and another Golden Globe award. Due to the shows strong ratings it was renewed for another season and will begin filming for the sixth season in 2013.

Californiacation features David Duchovny, Natascha McElhone, and Pamela Adlon. Californiacation is produced by Aggressive Mediocrity, and Totally Commercial Films.

Bones is an crime drama television series that premiered on Fox network in 2005. The show is based on forensic anthropology and archaeology, with every episode focusing on a specific FBI case file revolving around a mysterious human remains. Bones was created by Hart Hanson, and is based on the real life writings of forensic anthropologist Kathy Reichs. On March 29,2012, Fox renewed Bones for an eighth season. Bones was nominated for Outstanding Art Direction for a Single Camera series and has won two Genesis Awards for two episodes making people aware of pig slaughtering and industrial chicken farms. Bones features Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz, Michaela Conlin, Eric Millegan and T.J Thyne and is produced by Hart Hanson and Kathy Reichs in association with Josephson Entertainment, and 20th Century Fox Television.

Burn Notice is a television series. The show stars Jeffrey Donavan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Cmpbell, Sharon Gless, and Coby Bell. The series premiered in 2007, on USA network.

The title of the show refers to the burn notices that are created by intelligencies agencies to dismiss an agent or source that they believe is unreliable, and a problem. When the spies or sources are burned, their connection to spy organization ends, and leaving those individuals without money, or network support, ultimately, without an identity.

The show is taken from the viewpoint of Michael Westen, portrayed by Jeffrey Donavan. The voice-over commentary is taken in the form of a training or orientation film for future agents and spies. The series follows two story lines, one of which why Michael was received a burn notice, and episodes focusing on the cases he works for his clients.

Single Ladies is a television series off of the VH1 network. It was created by Stacy A. Littlejohn and produced by Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit. The show follows three close friends and their relationships. The show first premiered in 2011 with a two hour television film. The show features LisaRaye McCOy, Charity Shea, Denise Vasi, and D.B. Woodside. Queen Latifah says she is “particularly proud” of the series stating that she wanted the ladies to talk about mature things.

The show was first premiered as a movie to a test audience and then later turned into a 12 episode series. The response has been mixed since the show premiered but has received a large amount of viewers.

Workaholics is a TV sitcom that aired on Comedy Central for the first time on April 6, 2011. The show is on its third season and is written by Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm who all play three recent college graduates, and co-workers at a telemarketing company in California. The main characters, Blake, Adam, and Anders were roomates in college, and after graduating continue to share the house as they come of age into adulthood.

The show follows them from their house, to the job, and to the cubicle they all share at Telamericorp. The show began after a Comedy Central executive saw a group of videos that were posted on Youtube. The pilot was aired as a sneak peek after the Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump. The show was recently renewed for its third season on May 29, 2012.

Anger Mangement is a comedy series that premiered on FX on June 28, 2012. The series is based on the 2003 movie and is currently starring Charlie Sheen. Sheen plays the same role that was originated by Jack Nicholson in the movie. The show received mixed reviews with an average score of 44 out of 100 on Metacritic. Linda Stasi of the New York Post called the series “not so bad”.

Despite the mixed reviews, Anger management broke a record with a staggering 5.74 million viewers in its debut and is ranked one of the most watched sitcoms in cable history. The show features Charlie Sheen, Selma Blair, Shanee Smith, Michael Arden, and Daniela Bobadilla.

The series centers on Andrew Lincoln as sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes who wakes up after being in a coma to find the world taken over by “walkers”, resembling zombies of horror movies. He sets out to find his family and survivors while trying to save alive. The show premiered on October 31, 2010 on the cable channel AMC.

The show has been critically acclaimed by critics, and has won many award nominations, including a Writers Guild America Award nomination and a Golden Globe Award nomination for the best TV Series Drama. The show has also received over 9 million viewers for its season two finale becoming the most watched cable drama in telecast history.

The Talking Dead Free Tickets

Sunday’s return of The Walking Dead also mean the return of Talking Dead, AMC’s live after-show hosted by Chris Hardwick.

Right now they are looking for 60 diehard Walking Dead fans to be a part of the show’s audience (including a pre-screening of the week’s Walking Dead episode prior to the live show).

The show was created by Seinfeld creator Larry David, who stars as a fictionalized version of himself. The plots and subplots of the episodes are often established in an outline by David and then the dialogue is largely improvised by the actors themselves.  Similar to Seinfeld, the subject matter of Curb your Enthusiasm often involves the tiny things of daily life, and often revolves around Larry David’s problems and social conventions and expectations.

CBS “Two and A Half Men” Casting Information

Two and a Half Men is a hit American sitcom that premiered first in 2003. The show was originally based around a hedonistic jingle writer, Charlie Harper, his uptight brother, Alan, and Alan’s son, Jake. Charlie’s care-free sense of life complicates when his brother gets a divorce and moves into Charlie’s beach-front Malibu house. However, the show changed course on their ninth season, focusing more on Alan moving on after the death of his brother Charlie with his new friend, and room mate, Walden Schmidt, played by Ashton Kutcher, who is also facing problems after a bad divorce. Eventually, all three coming  together and forming a new family unit.

The show had their fair share of controversy. In 2011, CBS and Warner Bros. wanted to end production of the eigth season after Charlie Sheen’s disbaraging comments about the show’s creator and producer, Chuck Lorre. Eventually, Charlie Sheen was fired from the show on March 7th. The ninth season then premiered with Charlie, killed off and introduced Ashton Kutcher, his replacement.

In 2011, the New York Times called Two and a Half Men “biggest comedy of the last decade”
