As an Assistant Art Director on our Creative Team be involved in creating campaigns that have an instant, positive impact on DXL’s consumer in order to promote the product or brand being advertised. You will play role in partnering with key members throughout the company to actualize a strategic visual and creative vision to ensure consistency and cohesion between imagery and copy.
Using your creativity and ability to express abstract ideas visually, you will play a key role in supporting our guests by:
- Working on designs, layouts, and other graphic elements to produce effective seasonal, evergreen, and branded initiatives/campaigns – both digital and print and present to management
- Attending turn-in meetings and style outs, work with merchants to obtain content direction
- Assisting the Art Director in guiding process, workflow, and freelance help
- Directing photo shoots to ensure that branding the product needs are obtained
- Partnering with the Art Director in the process of asset mark ups, approvals and management
We’re looking for someone:
- With a bachelor’s degree in Art, Design, and/or Marketing
- That has 5+ years digital design experience; fashion and retail experience (preferred)
- Is knowledgeable in the Adobe Creative Suite; including designing in, editing, and has handled production-ready files
- That has fluency in social media, content development, video, display and brand advertising
- That has knowledge of Work Front (a plus!)
- That has strength in visual concept development for marketing and advertising communications translating business & brand goals into meaningful communication campaigns and tactics
- That has a thorough comprehension of photography, typography, and printing

- Art direct, plan and execute campaign photo and video shoots, as well as 3D production
- Partner and collaborate with on-staff creatives and freelance resources to create assets across brand ecosystem
- Oversee and execute when necessary creative from concept to pre-production through to final creative QC & asset delivery
- Supervise and direct staff responsible for creative production and in-house assets
- Work with other departments to meet all production specifications
We are looking for an Art Director who has:
- 3+ years of experience as an Art Director in an ad agency, freelance, or in-house environment
- 5+ years of experience in multidisciplinary design
- An affinity for well-designed home and bath products, interiors and accessories, architecture, and interior design
- Excellent communication skills
- Impeccable eye for detail
- Ability to meet hard deadlines and manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards
- Work independently or with limited guidance
- A background in interior design, and furniture. or home goods brands is a major plus
- Extensive abilities across the Adobe Creative Suite of products and Figma

This is a remote (Eastern Time Zone only) full-time opportunity to work for a company in the Valley Stream, NY area. Shuttle transportation is available from the train station. The salary is $95,000 annually. 100% remote work is not available for this position.

Our ideal Senior Art Director is a team leader who will push the boundaries of traditional retail online shopping to take our client to the next chapter by creating compelling stories and solidifying its strong brand. Primary Responsibilities
CREATIVE / EDITORIAL
- Research, investigate, vet leads, videos, and tips as assigned by Dr. Richey for Exclusive stories to break on IND
- Fulfill specific research requests by Dr. Richey
- All reasonable requests to be delivered within the scope of investigative producing and deadlines as assigned by Dr. Richey
- Conduct phone calls for verification of information, file FOIA requests, conduct all due diligence in the investigation and vetting of exclusive stories
- Write summaries of investigation for Dr. Richey
- Go through ‘IND TIPS’ email to track potential leads, pitch to Dr. Richey and then pursue to verify, investigate and produce stories
- PRODUCTION
- Once story is approved to produce, edit SOTs, request graphics, lower thirds, and fully produce exclusive segments
- Coordinate exclusive segment production with EP, Producer and AP
- Gather visual and audio elements (Gfx, masters, stills, etc.) from News Agencies, Social Media or other News Outlets
- Coordinate / produce / create visual and audio elements of the show (Packages, VO’s SOT’s, Statistics, Graphics) required to build the exclusive reports
- Quality Control: ensuring videos edited meet quality requirements.
- POST-PRODUCTION
- QC publishing (title and thumbnails, descriptions, crossposting)
- Identify exclusive stories in tracking sheet so AD can track video views and performance
