A new short film project is casting three key roles for an upcoming production in San Diego County. The film explores powerful themes of romance, dramedy, science fiction elements, mental health, therapy, relationships, breakups, grief, and female narratives.

This story delves deep into emotional realism and character-driven storytelling, following a woman’s journey of heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery. The project is open to both Union and Non-Union talent.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform lead and supporting roles with emotional depth and range.

• Collaborate closely with the director and cast to bring complex character arcs to life.

• Participate in scenes that include both indoor and vehicle settings.

• Maintain professionalism and preparedness throughout the production process.

Roles Available

1. Illeana (Lead Role)

• Gender: Female

• Age Range: Early to mid-20s

• A hopeless romantic struggling to accept a recent breakup. She’s emotional, persistent, and deeply layered—willing to do anything to mend her heart, even if it means unconventional therapy.

• Skills Required: Strong emotional range (including crying), layered realism, and comedic timing.

2. Ruben Alba (Main Antagonist)

• Gender: Male

• Age Range: Late 20s to early 30s

• Illeana’s ex-boyfriend. Likable yet subtly manipulative; transitions from harmless to narcissistic. Believes breaking up was for her good, though his motives are self-serving.

3. Dr. Emme Tan (Supporting Role)

• Gender: Female or Female-Identifying

• Age Range: 40s to 60s

• A marriage and couples therapist who becomes Illeana’s emotional guide. Intelligent, quirky, and compassionate—a blend of wisdom and humor.
